The store is franchise family-owned (now local to the community). This grocery store was a very welcome addition to the neighborhood. It had mixed reviews from the community. My personal option was that it was just alright. I didn't experience anything that would keep me coming back. Layout: Grocery Outlet's layout is a lot more spacious than former Dave's. Specifically, the aisles are less closely spaced. There is sufficient space to roam. With that being said, the organization of the store seemed odd and hard to navigate. For instance, it took me a long time to find condiments (ketchup) which were separated away from the aisles. Assortment: This was my first experience at any Grocery Outlet. It reminded me of a mix of Dollar General and Big Lots. Overall, the following can be found here: meats, produce, breads, beer, snacks, condiments, dairy, toiletries, cleaning supplies, bread, pet food, snacks, and random stuff such as bird houses. If you are loyal to major brands, you'll likely won't find them here. Most are discounted brands many of them also sold at Dollar Tree. Other customers recommended to check expiration dates due to many discounted products being almost expired. I didn't personally see any of these items. The assortment didn't impress me at all. I couldn't buy everything I needed at this store because there were no major brand shampoos, pet foods, and toiletries. Those I've seen in the aisles were even more expensive than the competitors. Meats were mostly unrecognizable brands. Dairy section was extremely limited. Produce looked a little tarnished. Nothing particularly caught my eye in terms of price or quality. My purchase: I initially stopped in for grocery shopping but also to grab something quick for dinner. I didn't find either. The store didn't have any prepared foods or even good frozen selections (most were off brand and contained large quantities). I purchased hot dog meat (off brand), hot dog buns, ketchup (Grocery Outlet brand), small watermelon container (was soggy), and 4 small waters. I paid $20 something. Hot dogs were just okay, cheap tasting. I received a free branded tote which was nice. Overall, I guess that the price was good. Interesting find: The store has global foods aisle. It has foods from Asia and Latin America which is amazing. Savings: Savings are clearly indicated next to many items (our v their price). Marketing collateral in the store indicates savings if you download their app. Service: Service was average. The employees walking the checkout lines seemed apathetic. Lines moved quickly which was nice. Then again the store was almost empty on Sunday night. Parking: Parking lot is available onsite. Entrance is accessible from the parking lot only (unlike the former Dave's). I'm unlikely to become this store's frequent shopper despite living within walking distance. I feel that this store serves value-oriented families buying in bulk and non-committed to national brands. It doesn't well accommodate single people who are looking for quick prep options, small quantities, and high quality. I'll visit other stores in the area that better serve my personal needs.

A visit to Cleveland is a must for anyone who loves food and beautiful grand old Great Lakes cities, and a visit to this grocery store when in the CLE area really Marc's the moment. Is the pretty useful and handy grocery store, which I've used on a number of occasions when in this part of the world. There are several of them around the Cleveland area and I like them. Having said that, they're not cheap, but then again neither is your mother. Barbie thought the Marc's stores we used were pretty good, including this one which is smaller than most, and is a nice alternative to the more corporate big chains.

Today was not one of those times but my complaint is about the pharmacy specifically and one of its' employees only. I wasn't even greeted by pharmacist, Ben, before he burst into uncontrollable laughter right in my face. Once he caught his breath, he informed me he was "laughing at my hair color" because "it caught him off guard." I explained how inappropriately he was behaving and that I just wanted my prescriptions. Instead he just continued to dig himself into a deeper hole by saying other ridiculous and offensive things while "trying to explain himself." And mind you, this is a senior citizen "professional" who is laughing so hard he lost his breath simply at the sight of someone with yellow hair. I can't imagine all the other things that blow his little mind daily and how many people have been disrespected this same way. I had to actually ask this man 5 times to just "give me my prescriptions and stop talking" before he finally did the bare minimum of his job and cashed me out . His behavior was abhorrent, his common sense was lacking, his self control is on par with a small child, & the minimal amount of hair he has left sits atop his head like a little gray/white crown. Does Ben perhaps think he is God because of that crown?? Well, I can say for certain that he at the very least believes in judging others. I think Ben should have to sit down and rewatch the company's training videos on how to/not to behave appropriately in the work place. Or maybe, just learn to keep his nonsensical ignorance on the inside when at work. He should defintiely learn how to filter a little better and not behave like he's in a middle school lunch room rather than a pharmacy. I'd had a pretty rough day today and Ben made sure my night was just as bad! Thanks so much for your thoughtlessness!

There are also a few more corporate retailers here. The experience at this store is subpar. I prefer other Dollar Trees in the area. AMBIANCE/INVENTORY: The store is incredibly dated and resembles a warehouse. Specifically, especially the floor is so old and looks half stripped. This look makes it look a bit dirty. The store is pretty unkempt - mountain of boxes by the entryway, plenty of bare walls, and random boxes obstructing the aisles. The inventory that lives on shelves is also pretty shuffled. It's not a good experience if you need something quickly. The inventory is your usual Dollar Tree assortment and then some. I was looking for European cookies ($1.25) that are impossible to find at other DS. I also purchased two Danish Style Butter Cookie mini containers ($1.25 each) because ''tis the season. You can also find plenty of seasonal decor and packaging - stockings, gift bags, and other decor. I was especially impressed with Toyland $5 finds. There were even toys like sushi kit and tea set. If you're into super deals, there are plenty of 25 cent stocking stuffers by the entrance. Most are stickers and decals. SERVICE: The service is nice. The employees are dressed festively for Christmas. They try to be very friendly. The store is surveying on receipts so perhaps this interplays into this. During my latest visit there were too many employees congregating by one checkout with one checkout open. It seemed inefficient. I usually prefer other Dollar Trees on the East Side. The shopping plaza gets very congested during busy times (seasons or weekends), it's hard to navigate in and out. But most of all, I don't like the atmosphere at this store - too dated, too disheveled, and not pleasant to shop at. I hope that the store improves going forward and gets a facelift.
