Like others have pointed out, this Marc's is cleaner and more organized than most other locations. I shop here to save money on pantry essentials, canned goods, soda, etc. While their meat and produce departments can be lacking, they have recently started to stock more organic and specialty items (we are in Brecksville afterall). I just wished they carried baby formula. Oh, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS double check your receipts before leaving. A cashier tried to scam me one time by scanning and then pocketing a Visa giftcard. I assume she didn't think I'd notice since I was buying so much and distracted by my child. Thankfully, I caught it on my way out of the store so I was able to bring it up to management/get a refund, but I saw the same cashier still working there a few weeks later! So definitely be aware and pay attention while they are checking you out. read more

Went to the deli here, there was no line, only one person working there, a young woman covered in tattoos, who was standing at the rotisserie throwing, literally throwing, cooked chickens across the room onto a metal table like they were footballs. The whole time she's snarling. This young lady sees me standing there and completely ignores me while she continues to chuck the chickens. She then takes the plastic bottoms and throws the birds into them like she's spiking a football. This send juice flying and again she's snarling the whole time and keeps leering at me, hoping I would go away. At this point I decide I'm just going to stand there and watch the show. I am literally standing there by myself for five minutes while she's throwing poultry around. Finally she exhales deeply because it's clear I'm not leaving, walks over to the sink, washes her hands for as long as possible puts on gloves while rolling her eyes and then comes over and yells at me: "what?" I told her I would really like the chicken, but after seeing her handling them it put me off. She rolls her eyes, and I asked her for a pound of turkey, just to annoy her. She really looked and acted like a mental case, so I suppose I should be charitable. I don't blame her, she was obviously someone in distress. The person I blame is the manager, who has a crazy person having a mental decompensation in his/her store and this "manager" doesn't even know about it. That's leadership!!!! It's par for the course in this place, every time I come here they have no staff, they have two registers open yet there's always some older employee standing at the doors watching people leave? This particular trip I was so insulted that when I got to the front of the store and saw the two registers and lines about nine deep, I just said forget it left the shopping cart full of food and went across the street to Heinen's which is where I will shop from now on. You don't save that much money by going to Marcs and it's not worth the aggravation. I don't know what happened to this place. It didn't used to be like this. read more

I know people were up in arms when they announced that Marcs was moving into this location in Brecksville. I was overjoyed- I love this place. Some people call it ghetto, I call it an adventure. Marcs is the only reason that I have a Discover card- and it is completely worth it. Yes, its kind of a zoo, but you learn how to navigate it eventually. They don't sell fresh fish, but I wouldn't buy fresh fish from Marcs anyways. Produce is always fresh and the prices are the best around besides Aldi's and Aldi's produce is usually pretty awful. Just across the street you'll easily pay 30% more across the board for your grocery bill. Is everything organic and locally sourced? No, its not, but it is good quality and there is evidence that organic is any better anyways. One particular area of weakness of mine is the Marcs clearance department. Unfortunately there are always things which are so cheap that I buy them even though I sometimes don't need them. Thankfully, Marcs has a friendly return policy as well, when I go home and The Wife puts the kibosh on my spur of the moment purchase. Welcome to Brecksville, Marcs! read more

This is not a normal Marc's. Items are on shelves instead of the floor. People are not freaking out in the aisles. It does not have the aesthetics of a crack house. There are no parrots or weird animals on display. The 1% win again. read more

It's one of the nicest Marcs around, a bit of a road trip but in the fall on a sunny 65 degree today it is well worth it with the windows down and Pandora blasting Beastie Boys!!! So get out and enjoy the weather as you roadtrip down to Brecksville to hit this Marc's Up Cheers!!!! read more

It is my go-to store in Brecksville. It is clean, well organized and the employees are friendly and helpful. Marc's is a treasure hunt, you never know what you will find in the closeout section for 99 cents, but it has well stocked produce section, small frozen food section etc. read more

I have had the worse experience the managers our so rude the lady did not give me a chance to leave the store to grab my mask I never been to this location so I did not know where the exit was " unfamiliar " all stores are different .... she made sure to cause a seen and made me feel embarrassed read more

The best thing I can say about this location is that it isn't a typical Marc's. Yes, it's still bargain basement and hard to navigate and the lines are slow and the service not exactly the gold standard - but it's clean and the food seems a little more fresh than what I've typically found at other locations in the chain. One nice feature of this location is that they have a Corbo's bakery located inside the store. I've never been to the actual Corbo's, so I can't compare the quality of the bakery at this Marc's to the orginal's, but the offerings are plentiful and have never disappointed. Other than that, what you'd find is what you'd expect at any Marc's - but, again, in a more clean and well-maintained store. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to drive to this location over any other Marc's, but if you're nearby or equidistant from another location, this place is a bit better than the others. read more

I needed to go to a grocery store while on a road trip vacation and this was close to our hotel. When the reviews said bargain basement I really thought the prices were going to be much lower than what they actually were. Honestly I can get find lower prices at wall mary or aldi's. There were a few things that were an awesome deal and I found the bulk candy section that made me fall in liven esp those single pieced chocolates. Yum. Other than that the store was very dirty, isles were small that two carts could not go down at the same time and the staff wasn't super friendly. Also it was very busy and two cash register lines were open. Management was even walking by them and nothing was done to make the lines move faster or alleviate the congestion. This was on a Saturday evening about 6 pm. The store presented itself as old and dingy and needing swept or cleaned or remodeled. It really needed some TLC. That goes for the parking lot as well as the grocery carts. Just dated and could use a retirement on some of them! I plan on going back for more bulk chocolates before I head out of town! If I lived here I'd prob find another place to grocery shop. read more

I feel like I need to rate this store low due to the lack of knowledge of the employees. We were looking for Amaretto and sweet n sour mix. The first girl we asked said she didn't know but that we could walk to the front our the store to ask someone at the service desk. I looked at her like .... Uh don't you work here? Isn't that a service your store should be providing? Fortunately, someone else I was with find the very least bottle of Amaretto. We asked another employee about the sweet n sour mix. She, too, said she didn't know BUT she would go ask someone. That was a better response. When she returned she told me they didn't sell it. While we were looking for my husband, we find it. Not just one bottle either. The shelf had 4 rows with at least 3-4 bottles in each row. I found the second employee and told her that they did sell it and where it was. She thanked me. I feel like the whole situation would cause me to not want to shop there, if I were a local. I know employees can't know where EVERYTHING is, but the responses I received were terrible. read more

This place is pretty filthy inside, the interior looks old and outdated, the staff are very young and unprofessional, and the quality of their "fresh" meats and produce is not good. Over the meat cooler, there is a neon sign that says "fresh meats", but the word "fresh" is burned out and not lit up. That right there says it all. On top of that, this store is not very old at all (less than 5 years), but yet it looks like it's decades old and hasn't ever been cleaned or repainted. Considering that Brecksville is a very nice community, this store feels very out of place. I don't understand how it is so popular, even with such low prices. Normally Marcs stores are very bargain-oriented and feel cheap/outdated inside, but this location is far worse than any other Marcs that I've ever seen before. The only way that I'll ever go back is if they hire some better employees and they repair/clean the store. read more
