I received a flyer about the opening of new Meijer, so I stopped in. I have never been to Meijer…read morewith the exception of Fairfax Market which is a smaller Meijer. It's easily the best shopping experience in Richmond Heights. There's just a few problems. This Meijer is huge and has a pretty good location close to the former Richmond Heights Mall. There is construction right in front of the store (lanes still open), but there are also helpful arrows indicating parking lot entrances. I was not happy with dim parking lot lights at this Meijer as a woman navigating my way back to the car in the evening time. Inside this Meijer is very clean and spacious. All departments and aisles are clearly marked, it is easy to navigate the store. There were only a few customers inside so the checkout was quick. The store is very well stocked, there is a lot of variety, and large number of local brands. There is even some local Brush Arcs merchandise. Prices are average, no super specials seen. There were a lot of choices for food to go at the end of the day, which is a plus. There were even some rotisserie chickens left which is a rarity. Sushi was very tasty. Pricing was very weird though, browse before you buy. I was looking at hot prepared chicken with 3 pieces for almost $7, then cold prepared chicken with 7 pieces for $5 something. Same chicken. So price compare before you buy. The standout was the produce aisle. The produce looked amazing and so fresh. I was amazed and navigated the entire produce section. It looked better than even at stores such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. I was very impressed. One thing that discouraged me from returning is a heightened level of security. I understand the need for loss prevention but this was excessive. There are cameras everywhere to the extent that you feel like you're on a reality show. There are also employees who strangely stop to observe you and walk after you. I've experienced it thrice within maybe 20 minutes at this store. It's just very strange. Not a very pleasant shopping experience. It's just excessive I hope that this store improves. It has great potential in this community.

This store is huge and has pretty much everything you would need. The store is HUGE!! It sells groceries, pet stuff, home goods and so much more. There is plenty if parking up front. It's clean with lots of employees present to help if you have any questions.

That wouldn't be so bad, except that there weren't any sales associates around who could open up the glass case for me. I decided to go elsewhere for a can of Krylon instead. Much of the men's underwear was also locked away in a glass case. Not the good moisture-wicking stuff, mind you. It was the cheaper Fruit of the Loom underwear that was locked away, bizarrely enough. Do they really have a problem with people stealing or vandalizing the cheap underwear? And not the more expensive stuff? Again, this wouldn't be a bit deal if a sales associate was available. The grocery selection wasn't great in comparison to the other Walmart locations either. And many of their suitcases had no price tags or price signage available. How do they expect to sell these things? This strikes me as a place where the management has pretty much given up on trying to sell stuff.

First off, walking through the store I could smell weed. And no body was that close to me so I questioned if someone was actually using a pen inside the store. They were prepping for restocking but it was a mess. No order. Employees on the isles didn't greet you, but kept their music playing loudly (loved all the profanity!). And checkout was ridiculous. I was told (after I was already ringing up items) "No self-checkout!" on the self-checkout line that was green. The same person who shouted that, was standing right there as I walked up and started ringing up my items. And I walked past a handful of employees as I made my way back to the exit only to be told when I was almost there "You can't exit that way." Cool cool cool. Poor customer service. Messy store. Avoid it.

It offers a much more pleasant experience than Target stores in South Euclid and Willoughby. In fact, I drive out of my way to visit this specific store. Fall Finds: Target is all stocked up for fall with "sweater" cozy pumpkins, cute ghost mugs, wicker pumpkin trays, bronze looking mushrooms, and more. I had to run away from the discount area where these items were located to avoid buying all the stuff I don't need. Most of the items were priced between $3 and $5. Store Appearance/Stock: This store is well organized and clean. The women's clothing area sometimes runs low on inventory. It's true for any Target stores lately. Order pickups: While I love to wander at Target, time often doesn't allow me to. I place a lot of in-store pickup orders here. Usually for clothing or personal care items. My last order was for tennis balls (for physical therapy) and summer dress. The items are always found (even when low stock) and orders quickly available. The transactions for pickups are considerably more efficient than other Target locations. Service: This store has the most pleasant service out of all East Side Targets. Employees inquire if you need help and are very polite. I enjoy my interactions here. Good service extends into Target Starbucks cafe. Parking: Plenty of parking specifically for Target and in the plaza. Watch out for speed bumps in certain crosswalk areas of the plaza. Overall, I'd recommend this location. It's suitable for a quick shopping trip. Convenient for shopping, pick-ups, and returns. Lately, I have noticed reduced foot traffic which I personally love for speedy shopping trips. Another convenient thing is that there are several other grocery and clothing retailers in the plaza which makes for a more efficient multi-store visit.

Today was the last straw-- I will never go back. One employee at the customer service checkout was especially mean, condescending, and truly unhelpful. I'm usually a customer of Dillard's for something small or in passing. It's never my destination. During my latest visit it was actually my destination for shoes. I needed sparkly sneakers for a Sneakerball, and Dillard's had the perfect pair! AMBIANCE: This store is tucked away in Beachwood Mall. The lighting in the store and the fashions make it feel like Saks or Nordstrom, not Dillard's. Meaning it's a lot more ritzy. It has pockets of high end brands, and the entire store presents very well. INVENTORY: Dillard's recently really started keeping up with the times. Compared to its competition, it's really fashion-forward. Around the holidays, I noticed that there are a lot of very trendy dresses in relevant colors and gorgeous fabrics. They are also very well styled with faux furs hugging the shoulders or sparkly boleros. There are also exciting party shoes - sparkly, with bows, and all the shimmer! You can really envision and build the entire outfit. I was really impressed with this recent shift of modernization. I even asked myself - Am I really at Dillard's? SERVICE: The service was truly five star. I was in a hurry (story of my life) and needed to quickly located the shoe department. I asked an employee at another department who provided me with very detailed directions. She was super friendly. Staff was pleasant as I made my way through the department store, smiling and nodding. My interactions at the shoe department were similarly warm. The sales associate told me she'll be right with me, immediately found the shoes I wanted, and was extremely friendly. I observed her interactions with other customers and she was providing very personalized service. It was probably among the best customer service interactions at department stores. Seriously great service. She was also as excited as I was about my sparkly sneakers with holiday lights purchased from Betsey Johnson collection. I will say that these sneakers were pricier here than at other retailers. I paid over $100. So many people complimented me on these shoes that it feels like I got my money's worth. I would recommend a visit to this store. The setup makes it feel luxe, the service is extremely cordial, and you experience can be flawless from start to finish. Honestly, couldn't find any fault in my whole time here. I plan to return shortly to look for New Year Eve dress. I'll have to first figure out what to do for NYE. Do I need Dillard's faux furs and bow bedazzled shoes? Or something more subtle?
