Extended Review: I was you - I didn't have anyone who knew a floor installer for hardwood, and I was trying to google-fu my way into finding one. I stumble across Ciprian, see the 5.0 google rating at 360+ reviews, and think either "this guy must be amazing" or "he's got a great review bot setup." Turns out he's just that good. I sent him an email about wanting to add hardwood flooring to two bedrooms in my Chicago condo, ideally matching the existing hardwood flooring throughout other areas of the home. He responded within the day with a rough estimate, and within 3 days made a visit to take measurements and produced a precise estimate that night, along with a diagram of what wood species my floor was and what he recommended. The next day, we had the install scheduled for 3 weeks later. He set expectations upfront that the color wouldn't be a perfect match since it wouldn't be the exact same wood, exact same stain, and all the flooring wouldn't be installed at the exact same time. Ciprian delivered the flooring a couple days after that. I didn't know this, but apparently it's best to have the wood acclimate to where it gets installed prior to being installed (for expansion / contracting based on temp / moisture). Ciprian knows this, because Ciprian knows wood. On the first day of the install, him and his partner had the carpet removed hardwood slinging immediately while also replacing some old base plywood boards free of charge; they finished installing the boards in both rooms that first day. oved When it was time to stain, he wanted me there to approve it - he mixed 5 different stains and placed them throughout the rooms to compare lighting with the existing boards. He then went back and forth tweaking the best stain making it darker/lighter until he got the perfect match - it was a point of personal pride to try and match it as close as possible. Ciprian is professional, punctual, responsive, diligent, efficient, and passionate about his wood species (which is a massive green flag for the guy installing your hardwood) and most importantly about the quality of work he provides. He and his team finished a day early, matched the new floor's stain against the current floors perfectly, and left me with a new standard for contractors that's going to be really hard to measure up against. If you made it this far, you can take the final step and shoot an email to Ciprian for whatever project you have because you've found your guy - he is him.

A massive refrigerator leak left the floor needing work, Covid or not. Alex came (masked) and provided an estimate. The next week his men came (masked) removed 3 rooms full of furniture (also pulling the powder room toilet) installed new pads on everything, taped off all of the kitchen counters, cabinets and appliances (allowing access to my now repaired refrigerator) and began. The equipment is amazing and the next room had no dust at all! They were efficient and very respectful of my desire to keep social distance. I was able to pick a color based on large samples put on my floor of the several I picked from a huge array. ;). I know boards were replaced, particularly in the original dining room and 'extras' happened but the estimate didn't change. I am sure that ideally we would have left the house for this process but with Covid there was really nowhere to go. Knowing this, Alex chose a finish that would be really durable (dogs and kids and grandchildren) but not require us to leave. Alex had said start Tuesday finish Friday and that is exactly what happened. After the weekend for curing, they were back Monday morning to replace all of the furniture. (In exactly the right place, including pictures on the walls, with no direction from me) The floors all look fabulous. I am more than pleased.
