Oliver's Bakery is a locally owned business that has served Kenosha for over 70 years! Known for their delectable and visually-appealing donuts, cakes, and Friday fish fry. A fan favorite in Kenosha is the Cyclops Donut, so make sure to try one when you're there!

I stopped in here to order some goodies for my company's facility team and man it smelled amazing inside. I ordered some cookies along with a Kringle that all the locals have been talking about. It was an amazing circular stuffed baked good with cherry. It's something of a local delicatessen and was extremely tasty!

While visiting my in-laws with my husband, I checked out the Kringles here. For my fellow east Coasters, Kringles are a Danish pastry that became the official pastry of Wisconsin. It has layers of buttery, flaky pastry filled with fruit or a variety of other fillings and is in a huge oval ring shape topped with icing. Their bakery had some pretty thick & huge round cakes in the fridge that looked really yummy. However, I didn't purchase one since my husband and I were flying back home the next day. But the cake prices were very inviting. My husband and I were immediately greeted, however I was in awe of the large selection of cookies on display & inadvertently did not respond. They also sell large muffins. They had around four variety of Kringles, we purchased two, one blueberry & one almond one. I'm not sure what I was thinking traveling home on a plane with these things. They were enormous & surprisingly heavy due to the filling. I honestly didn't expect them to weigh a lot. The friendly lady that greeted us was extremely helpful in packaging the Kringles in a pastry bag stapled shut (to prevent it from falling out) & then in a box to protect the Kringles from being smashed as an added protection in case I didn't have a large bag to carry them in. IF you decide to travel with Kringles (plural) on the plane, I suggest packing with you a large horizontal bag such as the reusable IKEA, Lidl or Aldi bags. The Kringles box SHOULD fit in those bags ( something with large girth). I didn't have any with me, so I went to a DQ & asked for a plastic bag they put their ice cream cakes in. The two Kringles fit with just the pastry bags WITHOUT the box. My father in law had some bubble wrap lying around so he bubbled wrapped each Kringle & they made it home safely under the airplane seat. The almond Kringle held up well, the blueberry one had some of its icing stuck to the pastry bag after traveling. Both were tasty! But I liked the blueberry one a lot more. The almond one was filled with almond paste/marzipan which was a bit much for me. I feel the fruit filled ones are more my speed and delicious! You can freeze the Kringles if you don't plan to eat it right away, but definitely refrigerate it at the least. One Kringle can easily feed 5 people with multiple servings or 10 people. There was another bakery we stopped by after that had Kringles for a significantly lower price, however whether the quality & taste is the same I can't say. The Kringles at this bakery run for $15 a Kringle. Make sure to check their hours as they close fairly early during the week either at 2 or 3pm.

I ordered cupcakes through their website and even sent a picture of cupcakes they did for a religious event that they posted on their Instagram (see image below) as inspiration. All they had to do was follow the picture and change up some colors. I went in today to pick up the order and all they showed me were cupcakes with white frosting and a blue cross on it that looked like no effort was given. Then the worker proceeded to tell me that I should have called. I ordered on the website and they called me a few weeks later. So yes, I did talk to someone and explained what I wanted. They verified, and I assumed that is what I was getting. The worker then told me that the pictures on the website don't upload well or some sort of excuse along those lines. If your website is crappy and you can't make out the picture then they should have told me this or found another way to tell me to show them a picture of my inspiration. Overall, I left empty handed and refused to pay $60+ for 30+ cupcakes when I can just get that cheaper at Sam's club. It was like they put no effort into the design. Very disappointed as they recently did a great cake for my sister in law. We do not live here and are from out of town so this was a bad first experience for us. Recommendations: update your website so it is more main streamed please.

Got a sweet tooth look no further.

If you are looking for a neighborhood Bakery look no further than Oliver's Bakery. My wife and I often lament that our home area does not have any old fashion Bakeries so when were visiting Kenosha and drove past Oliver's we had to stop and see what they had to offer. The space is small but the smells were big and so comforting we made an unneeded purchase of a Apple Fritter loaf and Mississippi Mud brownie. I can tell you they were both delicious. They also had a good selection of other yummy baked goods made on site. The only negative is we live 45 miles away so we will not be visiting as often as I would like.

I love Oliver's bakery for many reasons. Number one, it's named after the love of my life, Oliver Francis latimer. Number two, I love the donuts and that jelly oozes out like when Trisha paytas stuck Twinkie's up her bussy. Not sure if that happened but I know it has... Anyways 5/5 star food 10/10 recommended. Although the workers remind me of a bunch of hill Billy's I'll still give this establishment 5 whole stars.

Love the original vintage sign!

Not sure if it's a quality control issue or pieces from the equipment used. Not sure if it's a health hazard. Choking hazard for kids, maybe? Not pleasant. It happened a while ago with several loaves that I found multiple pieces...this last loaf, only one. During the time in between, I thought maybe it had resolved itself. Fool me once, you say? Why keep buying it, you fool? Again the crunch is like no other, taste great with just a few pieces of plastic.... Not sure what the next step should be. Any ideas?

Both were just $1.25 each and absolutely hit the spot. The bakery also offers kringles, eclairs, donut twists, loaves of bread, cakes, and a small selection of drinks. It shares a parking lot with a strip center, so there's plenty of parking available. The staff were friendly and helpful, patiently answering all my questions about their donut offerings since it was my first time visiting. Overall, a charming, old-school bakery that's worth a stop for anyone with a sweet tooth.

Summer of 2025, QVC was in Racine filming for the Racine Kringle brand and the crew (my sister is a part of) made it a point to try all three in a taste test. Bendtsen's won! They are still handmade unlike their competition. It's a cute little shop and the lady working (not sure her name) was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We could tell she was proud to work there. There were several flavor options left that weekend afternoon and it came highly recommended by my sister to try the spinach and cheese pastry. Ask for it warmed up, delicious!

We did a taste test between O&H pecan kringle versus Bendtsen's. They both had different qualities so there wasn't a clear winner. Bendtsen's is flakier and drier than O&H with larger pecans. O&H had more moisture, smaller pecan pieces and a sweeter frosting. Bendtsen's also serves more traditional flavors and doesn't make a Tipsy Elf like O&H which BTW is delicious. They are within a couple of miles of each other so next time you're in Racine it's worth trying them both.

Big unexpected bonus? They have a drive through. It seems like an odd thing to glorify for a coffee shop that focuses on quality--but this was really a big plus for me at the time. I had a colicky baby in the car and the idea of getting him out of a car seat and back into it again made me not want to leave the house all that often. Being able to drive up to grab some delicious (non-Starbucks) coffee that reminded me of the good old days in Austin was such a huge mood booster. The moon milk sells itself. It's super sweet, so if you don't want it to be too sweet, I usually ask for 1/8 moon (1/4 is on the menu, and it's still too much for me). I do wish it was in a more convenient location. It definitely feels suburban and like it's just in a random strip, but I'm also not all that familiar with in Kenosha. Hooray for Summermoon in WI. Now I have a reason to make a pit stop on my way to Chicago.

No way to know what their secret ingredients are. My fault for not asking The in store menu did not indicate this had oat milk. I assumed it was just milk.
