Awesome bread bowls, super friendly staff, and bakery goods to die for. I highly recommend them for lunch. Delicious all homemade food.

Beachside Oasis - Tables outside on the patio with a million dollar view

Beachside Oasis

BEACH BUM If this…read moreplace was in Chicago it would be packed. First it's located directly on the beach. Secondly the beer prices are cheap. How cheap you ask? You can get a domestic pitcher of beer for only $7 and a craft pitcher for just $9. Now that's a deal. Throw in the million dollar view of Lake Michigan and I am in paradise. The little shack is really cute. They also have fast food for those who are hungry on the beach. I can not review the food because I didn't come here to eat. I was looking for a place to work and saw the building from the high bank. I then had to search out the road that would take me down to this hidden Mecca. My wife informed me not to write a review because once this became public knowledge it would never be the same again. But I have to share this hidden place with my fellow Yelpers. It's just too good to be true. There is a stage but no one was performing when I was here. I asked the girls that work behind the counter and they informed me that there is live music on Wed-Sun possibly starting at 3pm or 6pm. I really can't get mad at them for not knowing the starting time because I am on island time right now. This place reminds me of a Caribbean Island where time and schedules just do not matter. The live music will eventually play. They did have some recorded music playing softly in the background which only added to the charm of the location. I allegedly ordered myself a pitcher of beer, grabbed a beach chair in the sand and started working. I can totally confirm the working and chair part but I'm pleading the 5th on the beer part. I ended up working for 3 hours on the beach. The funny part is that I was heading to the library in town when I was sidetracked like a dog seeing a squirrel. I really wish this place wasn't so far from Chicago because I would totally work here every day. I don't need some stuffy boring coffee shop. The beach is also incredibly clean. It is designated a blue flag beach which means it is being well taken care of. In fact, I witnessed a group of young kids actually cleaning up junk. I just found this amazing. I wish I saw more young people putting down their electronics and picking up a piece of garbage. I applaud you for saving your future World. You give me hope for tomorrow. So if I go missing and dark socially I may be sitting here with a pitcher and a dead battery but I don't care. I've got a million dollar view with a $7 pitcher to keep me cool in the warm summer sun. Cheers! Aloha! Bula! Hang 10! Prost! Dude Where's my Beach Chair! I really don't care because I'm sitting here with a smile in the sand.

Always 5 out of 5 stars!…read more Just returned from a trip and it's always a must to stop in for hot dogs for the family! It did not disappoint! Needed to Chicago food!

Before we left I checked the website and saw that they were a cash only business. No problem except we took the 30 minute ride and when we arrived I realized I forgot my wallet at home. Fortunately for us it was a nearby Walgreens where we could get cash. My wife had her wallet so I zelled money to her. Once we got back we then saw that they do in fact take debit/ credit cards. Anywho. It was a no frills place very basic aesthetic nothing special to look at. Just a service counter where you can see them preparing the hot dogs. They do however have a steady line of people! They move the line very fast so you're not waiting long at all. We ordered 3 hot dogs with everything (mustard, onions, relish & sport peppers) the basic depression hot dog. They come with fresh cut fries & we got a fountain Cherry Coke to share. I spent $20 even with tip. The hot dogs were good i wasn't disappointed nice soft bun tasty condiments and a great snap to the hot dogs. I'll give it a 7/10. The fries had a decent amount of salt on them a bit oily and not too crispy but they were fair. They don't have any ketchup in the house. We keep tobacco in the SUV so I added some to the fries for a little bit. Without the tobacco the fries were still tasty. A solid 6.5/10. The service was good. Young people with good customer service. I loved it. 10/10 for service. All in all if I'm in the mood for a drive and a hot dogs I'll go back. If you're in the area and like hot dogs check them out. They also sell tamales. ( I didn't order one) 7.3/10..... all in all. It's really more like 3 1/2 stars! Remember Yelpers ALL reviews are subjective!
