First up, location and staff. This is truly a neighborhood bakery so expect to pull in, grab some things, and dash off. I believe they have some tables for the summer but in March there's just no place to sit and enjoy your items, so keep that in mind. It's a family affair behind the counter with the young gentleman reminding me of helping my mom bus tables as a waitress many years ago. He was polite and efficient, two great things you don't see in young 'uns these days! Most importantly, the goods! Sundays are cinnamon roll days and that is where it's at, people. They are ready by 9 am and when we grabbed them this morning, they were still warm! We took them to the Starbucks on Drexel because of the aforementioned seating challenge and they were still warm and also delicious. It's advertised as…read more"a moist, fluffy pumpkin square marbled with brown sugar cinnamon butter, smothered with a light vanilla cream cheese frosting, and topped with a sprinkle of warm spice". I almost didn't buy this because it was my first "square" from Crumbl and I didn't know if it would be worth the price tag or not (an additional dollar to their already questionable base price). For starters, it is relatively large and heavy. Cutting a piece out of the tray, it was even thicker than it initially appeared. Even though it's thick, I found it to be somewhat light and airy/fluffy. Its texture is a cross between cake and pumpkin pie. Sort of hard to imagine, it's a cake, but a little gooey like pumpkin pie. The square is intended to be served warm and when done so, it practically melts in your mouth. As for the flavor, it's a mild pumpkin with hints of cinnamon without too much spice or burning. I feared there might not have been enough cream cheese frosting since the layer on top is thinner than a skeleton, but the intense sweetness of it more than makes up for the amount. Hidden by the cream cheese is a layer of gooey brown sugar cinnamon butter that also ups the sweetness.
