A family member picked up the cake at 12:00pm, an hour later they noticed the cake was leaning. They were told to "nudge it". By the time we were at the venue, and starting food, the entire bottom of the cake was melting and crumbling, the top layers fondant falling apart, it couldn't be photographed, couldn't be cut, couldn't be served. We completely left out the cake portion of this wedding, what was served was piles on a plate. No announcement of cake. Nothing. Embarrassing and devastating. I left a review for Gloria on Google. An honest one. Gloria didn't like the review and took to Facebook on her business page with my husband's full name, his cash app information, and access to his and my social media pages. I had to file a police report. I sent multiple cease and desist letters out. And the next step will be a lawsuit for doxing a customer on a business page, and harassment for having customers "friends and family" come after someone who left a review you didn't like. You cannot run business like that. Buyer BEWARE.

Summer of 2025, QVC was in Racine filming for the Racine Kringle brand and the crew (my sister is a part of) made it a point to try all three in a taste test. Bendtsen's won! They are still handmade unlike their competition. It's a cute little shop and the lady working (not sure her name) was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We could tell she was proud to work there. There were several flavor options left that weekend afternoon and it came highly recommended by my sister to try the spinach and cheese pastry. Everyone knows Racine kringle which is the most famous but not even close to the best. This bakery…read moreis a throwback with old glass cases showcasing hand made kringle and other bakery delights. We did a taste test between O&H pecan kringle versus Bendtsen's. They both had different qualities so there wasn't a clear winner. Bendtsen's is flakier and drier than O&H with larger pecans. O&H had more moisture, smaller pecan pieces and a sweeter frosting. Bendtsen's also serves more traditional flavors and doesn't make a Tipsy Elf like O&H which BTW is delicious. They are within a couple of miles of each other so next time you're in Racine it's worth trying them both.
