We did a taste test between O&H pecan kringle versus Bendtsen's. They both had different qualities so there wasn't a clear winner. Bendtsen's is flakier and drier than O&H with larger pecans. O&H had more moisture, smaller pecan pieces and a sweeter frosting. Bendtsen's also serves more traditional flavors and doesn't make a Tipsy Elf like O&H which BTW is delicious. They are within a couple of miles of each other so next time you're in Racine it's worth trying them both.

Summer of 2025, QVC was in Racine filming for the Racine Kringle brand and the crew (my sister is a part of) made it a point to try all three in a taste test. Bendtsen's won! They are still handmade unlike their competition. It's a cute little shop and the lady working (not sure her name) was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. We could tell she was proud to work there. There were several flavor options left that weekend afternoon and it came highly recommended by my sister to try the spinach and cheese pastry. Ask for it warmed up, delicious!

I've had O & H's almond kringle that they source out to Trader Joe's in VA. Staff were friendly and helpful! I informed them I'm not from here locally (just visiting my in- laws). The lady was helpful and explained their available products. I was so excited to try out their other kringle flavors. I opted for the key lime pie and the pina colada one. We tore into the key lime pie one and it tastes just like one, with the filling! Sooo good!! They run about $15-$16 for the flavored ones. The pina colada one I will have to update my review for, as it's currently in my in-laws' freezer and will hopefully survive the 14 hour drive home. No military discounts. Update: that pina colada kringle is KING!! O&H please source out these ones to Trader Joe's also!!

I guess she could've not pointed that out, just made her appear ignorant and us feel like we were interrupting her day. Oh well. The Kringles are good, definitely get the original with cherries, cranberries and cheese, the sandwiches are very small, hardly any meat but tasty. Many items are frozen for take home. Was a nice place to visit, but we probably won't be back unless we feel like the original Kringle. We bought an assortment of pastries and decided it's not for us. Most are overwhelming sweet, and just okay. The petit fours are just cut up glazed cake, the cake inside is tasty almond flavored but the glaze kills it, too sweet. Lots of cute souvenirs but very pricey. Good to visit once. We came, we saw, we left.
