Average sized coffee shop located in downtown Racine…read more The good: fresh roasted coffee is always better than stuff that has been sitting around. Pricing is fair as well. They have some chocolates and pastries available as well. The eh: I didn't hear our drinks being called and when I went to up confirm it was my beverage they said they didn't know, they didn't make it, and walked away. Kind of odd off putting behavior that has me in no rush to return.

The parking lot is behind the building and can be accessed from Ann St. or Owen Ave. If you are going thru the drive-thru be sure to turn on Owen St. (west of The Branch at 1501/Esperanza). See map in photos * Delicious Drinks! Our go-to's are: almond milk and lavender lattés, cold brew with frosted mint and a splash of cream, raspberry lemonade, Jamaica Agua Fresca and Maui Wowie (we've tried many other of their concoctions as well, and not been disappointed) and Pup Cups worth working for!! This is our dog's favorite coffee shop ;) * The people! Sergio and his team are genuinely warm friendly people. I stop by regularly, in part, just for the bright spot it adds to my day * The Vibe! Fun, creative, friendly, funny: they have fun daily poll questions, occasional simple while-you-wait art projects * The Cool and Funky Location! It's in a renovated bank! And you can get your drinks thru the drive-up teller drawer, or sit inside in an open, spacious, warm and well-lit great room. I've never seen a better use of a bank building in my life. Support a local business that adds its own delicious flavor of hope (a.k.a. esperanza) to Uptown!

Stopped by Red Onion Café in Racine for lunch and had a really nice experience overall!…read more We ordered at the counter and the line moved super quickly, which is always appreciated during the lunch rush. I went with the citrus balsamic salad with chicken, which also came with a roll, and my friend ordered the turkey & bacon club sandwich combo that included butternut squash soup and a drink. Our food came out in about 10 minutes, which was great timing. The salad was wonderful...fresh, flavorful, and really satisfying for lunch. There were just a couple small things that could have been better. The roll that came with my salad was pretty dry and cold, so that part didn't quite match how good the salad was. My friend also got a pickle with the sandwich (see photo)... and let's just say it was limp as hell and could definitely use an upgrade. Overall though, it was a good experience with quick service and tasty food. With just a couple small tweaks, it would be even better. I'd definitely stop back again!
