Salted Cardamom Date Latte (I got it with half the sweet, but the full sweet is also delightful)

I love this place! The coffee is exceptional and the food is as well! I love supporting women-owned businesses!

Fascinating how many people make coffee bars their hangout places to sit with their laptops and pass time-- even when on a very cold day the door is jammed open and the interior is COLD! We enjoyed the far corner, however, with some pastries and varieties of coffees/teas. I'm supportive of anything Palestinian!

I finally made it to this local Palestinian owned coffee shop. I loved the way it was decorated inside- she has personal pictures of herself growing up in Palestine - so genuine and authentic! Really gave it an inviting warm feeling....I love they have merchandise inside to purchase as well- Kufiyas, jewelry, stickers, bags, etc. The service was excellent and my drink was delicious (iced banana bread latte). I'll be back for sure!

The O & H bakery at 9540 South 27th Street (just south of Ryan Road) has wonderful fresh baked goods and breakfast sandwiches plus kringle if you need to get away from the hospital for a bit, but I just love hospital cafeterias. I know that sounds strange but growing up the only way I could see my father was to take my book bag on the bus to meet my father at one of the hospitals where he was on staff. I waited in hospital cafeterias where workers would feel sorry for me, help me with my homework and feed me. Hospital cafeterias are usually safe, clean places with kind workers and reasonable prices; this is a typical hospital cafeteria in that sense though smaller. The made to order hot breakfast is as good as area diners except for the nearby O&H Bakery. Free parking right in front, the cafeteria is on the first floor near the front of the hospital so you don't have to get lost deep in the bowels of the place.

It is one of the vintage-looking buildings, painted blue with green striped awnings. It has great curb appeal and feels very welcoming. There are outside café tables and plenty of seating inside for different size groups. Not only are they a coffee house, but they serve a wide-ranging menu of foods, and there are grocery items you can purchase, including dairy, eggs, and meats. They also carry many other items that make great gifts. I got a very friendly greeting from the cashier. I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte (little lavender, little vanilla, and extra foam) in a mug. The blueberry scones looked amazing, so I got one of those as well. They make all their bakery on-site. Everything was excellent, with lots of microbubbles in the latte. Plenty of blueberries in the scone, and it had the right texture (dry and a little crumbly). I forgot to bring my book along, but they have a very eclectic selection, so I was able to peruse some titles I had not seen before. Overall, another great experience. One of my favorite places in Walworth County.

I didn't even try the bakery items, I was so full, but, it all looked delicious! All of the food was really good. A little on the more pricey side, but worth it. There was so much on the plate. My only issue with the food was the toast was too lightly toasted and the coffee was a little bitter. But the brisket and other food was amazing! They do not have a kids menu but they will 1/2 orders of pancakes or a French toast order. The tables are small and the plates are huge. I would suggest trying to get a table on the wall if there are more than 3 people. It's small and tight but so worth the food.

Would recommend a rebrand though. The name is fine, but the minimalist black and white signage belies a colorful and ideal meal.

The National Cafe and Bakery was able to accommodate without a problem--they don't use soybean oil or soy based butter in their vegan options. I also love their baked goods and look forward to being able to enjoy a treat there. I hope they continue to to serve my neighborhood--I love the farm to table concept. 10/10. We ended up getting the full English breakfast, I had a London fog latte and my fiancée had a regular coffee. They do have oat milk and soy milk if you prefer that instead of regular milk in your coffee. The full English breakfast has baked beans, tomato, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, eggs and toast. I have had this numerous times here and it has always been my favorite! the baked beans are just a little sweet n tangy, the eggs are however you like them cooked, and the mushrooms at a bit of earthy flavor. If you have ever been to England, the only difference is there is no white or black sausage here. I don't exactly like it so I am glad the sausage here is more like a broiled regular one. The London fog here is the ONLY one I like in MKE! They always put just the right amount of vanilla syrup and milk in it. Most places end up making it super sweet but this place is PERFECT! I come here occasionally because it's also cute and we like to sit in the window and people watch. The service is great and you just order from your phone at the table you choose and pay using Apple Pay or a card.

Food: They have a large selection of breakfast pastries, including scones, cinnamon rolls, hand pies, and more. There are also some savory items, such as a rosemary biscuit. It was a tough choice, but when in doubt, I go for a scone, and they had a Maple Cinnamon one. I had it warmed up a bit, and it was delicious. These scones are not muffins in disguise, which means the texture is a bit drier and more crumbly--perfect alongside a hot beverage. For my drink, I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte. I was hoping to have it served in an actual ceramic mug, but those are only offered to customers who order drip coffee. That said, they made a very good London Fog, with a little extra lavender and plenty of foam. For my taste, it could have been a bit hotter. Service: Everyone who helped us was kind and helpful and gave us plenty of time to choose the perfect pastries. When ordering the London Fog, they explained how they make theirs and how they would add the extra lavender, which I appreciated. As mentioned above, they do not provide mugs for specialty drinks, using mugs instead to keep track of customers who have paid for bottomless drip coffee. I could bring my own mug from home, but I am not a fan of carrying around coffee shop essentials. Atmosphere: The building is nicely designed on the outside and sits on a corner with plenty of large windows that bring in natural light. It faces north, so you avoid the glaring morning sun. Upon entering, there is a short walk to the counter, where you can view all of the bakery and pastry items. A menu board above clearly displays the breakfast and lunch offerings, making it easy for first time visitors. There are numerous tables that accommodate small groups, and a fireplace with a couple of upholstered chairs offers a cozy seating option. Even after filling up with customers, the noise level was very good, and easy to have casual conversations. A nice visit and a place I would enjoy coming back to.
