Never Ending Soup, Salad & Breadsticks
Mindy K.

The shrimp scampi was bland and pasta overcooked. It tasted like it was all frozen and reheated. The cream of chicken soup tasted like straight cream and flour. We did not take any of it home.

This is the brand new OG in Plainfield. The servers were great. Everyone was friendly and our server made sure we had everything we wanted. The vibe is typical of OG, but I'll say that the layout is really nice and they keep it clean. The food was good. A bit more salty then I like but it was good regardless. I will visit again. Next time it's the endless salad and breadsticks for me.

We visited Olive Garden this Wednesday and I can say we had great service. Our waitress was super nice and helpful with the menu. Definitely recommend checking this place out and trying their Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara.

Chicken & Gnocchi soup- this was my fave

3.5 Salad and breadsticks was good as I remembered. - CHICKEN GNOCCHI SOUP- tried all the soup.. this was surprisingly my favorite. - CHICKEN ALFREDO- this was tasty and perfectly al dent - SPAGHETTI WITH MEATBALLS- this was just ok. -SPAGHETTI WITH SPICY MEAT SAUCE- this was just ok for me.

Meat

I'm very simple. I want fettuccine Alfredo and I get an extra side of Alfredo dipping sauce for the next day and extra breadsticks it comes with. Wanted to try something SLIGHTLY new but they don't give an option for the tortellini pasta upgrade so I ordered the tortellini Alfredo with chicken. Said no meat please because I'm not eating meat. Pasta came out how I asked. Reheated my breadsticks with my dipping sauce and added it to my leftover tortellini, and there was some type of meat in the dipping sauce I ordered and I was so confused ! I would like to point out I wasn't paying attention because I never thought that would be an issue.

Tour of Italy lasagna... literally pathetic
Jeremy S.

The shrimp frita appetizer is fantastic; I highly recommend it. However, the Alfredo sauce dishes are quite disappointing, and the lasagna is even worse just review the picture you will be shocked someone would serve that... Despite having plenty of staff, the service could use some improvement. Our meal was delivered to the wrong table and then came out incorrect. They did remove the Tour of Italy from our bill, and the place was busy, so I appreciate that effort. However, please work on improving the service. If the meal is going to take longer, at least ensure it's correct.

Nottt a favourite. My sister and I pulled up last year--I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Wrap and we…read moreshared the Smoked Chicken + Artichoke Dip and the cheese curds. It ended up being a massive bummer! For the wrap, I really do hate sounding so harsh, but I don't know how else to put it other than it was one of the worst things I've had. It was soggy, cold, and smelled--not sure about the taste since I could barely taste anything except the sauce--almost rancid! I have NEVER had Buffalo sauce taste like that before! And my lettuce was super soggy and super yellow with some browning, past the regular texture + colour for this type of lettuce. I had many more pieces, but I was so in shock from the wrap that I genuinely didn't take any photos. I genuinely felt ill and I couldn't come close to finishing it--and neither could my sister when she tried to help! The dip was OK, but again, it was cold and rather tasteless. We did end up finishing it, but it wasn't generally noteworthy. It was the best out of the three items we tried, though! The cheese curds were either barely cooked and stale or very overcooked and chilled--the cheese was hard, rubbery, and really cold! They were seasoned nicely though, so we ate enough of it--especially my sister who found some redeeming factors within them! The sauce helped! Oddly enough, we were basically the only people inside, so I'm not sure what went so wrong! There was a small post-funeral or celebration of life being hosted outside (I think???? Everyone in that area wore black/dark formal clothing and looked upset), so maybe all the care went to them?? I'm not sure how it could've really been a "bad day" since it was pretty well staffed and seemingly little stress, but I'm giving a benefit of the doubt if that's my ignorance!! The employees were so sweet and bubbly, though! Interior was cute and super lively, but EXTREMELY cold LOL. Maybe that's why our food was frigid... Redeeming points: The water tasted good!! Not much more to say, just pretty disappointed! I've heard people really like it, even people I know personally, but I really cannot think about it much without feeling ill! I wish I was joking!! Plus, my sister was returning after visiting with our father, where she ordered a Reuben which was overall OK, but not really worth the price (as she reports!). Really unfortunate! Not sure if we will be returning, but we really did appreciate the kind servers and awesome environment!

Taste of Jerusalem - Chicken Shawerma with Baba Ghanouj and pita chips

Taste of Jerusalem is the kind of place that reminds you why you should never judge a restaurant by its zip code or its signage. Tucked into a perfectly forgettable strip mall in Plainfield, this little spot is quietly serving some of the best food in the area and I am genuinely annoyed it took me this long to find it. The chicken kabob plate was a revelation. Massive portions of beautifully marinated chicken laid over a split of white rice and spicy rice. That spicy rice deserves its own paragraph. Fragrant, deeply spiced, with a slow building heat that lingers just long enough to keep pulling you back for another bite. Addicting is the only word for it. The hummus was exactly what hummus should be, fresh, delicious, also addictive. I added falafel and pita and those falafel were genuinely among the best I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, not a trace of that greasy heaviness that ruins lesser versions. Just fragrant, spiced, crispy little bites that I genuinely savored. My partner got the chicken wrap and said every component worked together without competing, tasted fresh, and left him full without feeling heavy. High praise from a man who knows his way around a wrap. The space is clean and simple. You order from a kiosk. None of that matters because the husband and wife team running the grill are pouring obvious passion into every plate and it comes through in every single bite. Plainfield has a gem here. Treat it accordingly.

On the "advertisement/picture" it included fries. Well when I went to pick it up, it was just the wrap, no fries included. Which is disappointing. Total was $17. Wrap wasn't mind blowing overall taste I'd give it a 2.3/5 . A single wrap should not be $15, specially when it was under seasoned. You get a better deal at Amba grill for $15.

Have to immediately put this out there... service was great!!…read more I yelped fast casual on a road trip. Amba was a little off off 55 but o simply didn't want some of the more traditional fast casual spots. So we selected Amba. We pulled up, and there was one table of customers. The atmosphere Ilic's clean but had a hamburger joint feel to it. I started to question if this was the right choice. If you stop reading before what I have to say below, trust me you'll love this place. We walked up to the digital menu which has a feel of a franchise even through the rest of the restaurant feels like an independent mom/pop joint. So I order a bowl- rice, greens, falafel, cucumber/tomato mix, picked onions, olives, traditional. Hummus and feta. Then we get to the sauce... I'm simply overwhelmed with all the choices. The nice man behind the counter gave me a little dollop of 5-6 sauces and they were all amazing... ! You can't go wrong with any of them. I went with The Amba sauce but really they all were so flavorful! My bowl was huge! More than I could eat in one sitting (similar to the quantity of a chipotle bowl which I also can never finish). The falafel!!! Oh my! Probably one of the most flavorful falafel that I've ever had. Yum! Yum. Yum! My husband had the chicken shawarma ... he said his was awesome, I'm pretty sure awesome chicken shawarma was no where as good as my falafel. I'm not a soda drinker, but if I was, I'd be super excited about their no HFCS soda. All flavors are made with real cane sugar! I was super happy with yelp's suggestion. Next time we pass through, we will be back!

The menu offered a great selection of food, and I went with the Sausage and Peppers pizza. The pizza crust was slightly thicker than the local tavern style pizzas, and it was cooked perfectly. When I asked to be added to the waitlist, the hostess said they "don't really do that." I asked if they don't do waitlists at all, and she said "no, not really." The whole exchange was short and felt dismissive. Partway through, she stepped away to seat another table, then came back and said she guessed she could put us down for 8:15 as a reservation instead. By that point it felt like we were pleading just to get a table, so we left and went to another local spot we love. The frustrating part? We got a text that our table was ready about five minutes after we walked out. I think this was a hostess issue more than a restaurant issue, but some training on how to handle a full house and basic people skills would go a long way. A simple "we can put you down and text you when something opens up" is all it would have taken
