The tacos de papa were bland, the only flavor came from their green sauce which was about the best thing I got from this place, the guac was normal. The dirty queso tacos are freshly made corn tortillas with fresh fresh meat and cheese. The Birria tacos are street size tacos but fried with tender shredded beef and melted cheese. The meat from the tacos were sooooo good that even my picky 1 year old baby couldn't get enough. She was loving the beef and chicken. Okay Oli's, I've been there twice. First time i ordered the nachos and i absolutely loved them!. Perfect amount of everything. I loved it so much i went back 4 days later and ordered the nachos again and this time not so good. The nachos this time were drenched in sour cream. Drenched! Sour cream nachos. OmG! I took my daughter here to try their dirty queso tacos and she had the nerve to try and order a fish taco instead. But she was so happy when she tasted that carna asada dirty taco she won't leave me alone about going back there EVERY DAY for some more. The tortillas are homemade and so delicious. Mediocre at best. Had the chicken burrito, nachos, and chicken burrito bowl. The food was cold. I paid $2.50 for chips and salsa and got a bag of crumbled chips and 3 little cups of salsa. The cheese on the nachos wasn't even melted. The server was one of those that keeps asking you, "anything else" after every item you order, and you can tell she didn't want to be there. I stumbled upon Oli's tacos while browsing the mall. I am usually weary of random mall spots, but surprisingly I didn't leave disappointed with my dinner! On February 16 7:00 pm My partner ordered a large jamiaca agua Fresca. It was horrible, we usually make our own hibiscus agua at home but we noticed this was made from a powered packet with extra sugar. After a sip I kindly asked they could switch it out. The woman at the register told me that they couldn't switch out the drink despite our dissatisfaction, we didn't even drink more than two sips. I love the hard taco shell, the cabbage, and of course, the potato filling. Almost as good as the ones my bff makes. Definitely coming back for that. My combo plate was just ok. The carne asada was a bit on the fatty side, and I didn't care for the rice. The green salsa on the tacos was pretty good, but not hot enough. And the beans de la olla were excellent. Love what's happening at the [formerly] Montclair plaza. Oli's tacos is a great example. A step up from the fast-food-court I remember from the malls growing up. The newly renovated seating and atmosphere are wonderful. As far as food, You have your standard items, but also some unique takes on the traditional taco like the "dirty Queso." Fried queso fresco, your choice of meat, and "secret sauce." As well, they have a couple of choices of fresh made aqua fresa that blend perfectly with their food options. Prices add up real quickly, especially if you're prepared for "street taco" prices, but the quality matches the prices. Beans and rice are pretty aren't any thing spectacular but they get the job done as filler sides. Bottom line: Oli's is a great Mexican-style food option with some wonderfully unique dishes in a resurgent modern mall setting. read more

Okay Tacos I tried a birria taco with side of rice and beans. Wifee had a carne asada mulita and al pastor quesadilla. When I picked up my meal at the counter I thought someone played a joke on me because all the entrees were bite size. The birria taco was really good great flavors just wished taco was bigger. The rice was so disappointing it was hard and super oily I chose not to eat it, beans were luke warm a bit of a turn off. I'm usually not fond of whole beans but their beans were really good, whole but almost a creamy consistency. Rice was lacking some flavor & moisture and I found a few hard bits but overall it wasn't terrible. With my combo of rice and beans I got 3 street tacos that I ordered plain. The meat itself was good but A LOT of grease was dripping from my tacos without being squeezed out-a lot of napkins were definitely needed. Willing to try them out again. read more

I gotta say, it's quite tasty for the most part! Their burritos are good enough to compete with any other Mexican restaurant or Mom/Pop shop in the area. I still like Cardenas burritos a bit better! As for the Carne Azada Quesadilla; which my wife had, that was a no-no! That's probably why I'm giving Oli's Tacos a 4-Star and not a 5. Per her words, "esta carne no esta bien cocinada y tiene uno que otro gordo." After she said that, I did NOT taste it. I just kept eating my tasty burrito! And did give a little piece of it to my wife and she liked it as well. This is probably the only and last time we order that! As for the prize, it's reasonable and affordable! No 'ifs' there!
