Taquitos/flautas Flautas
Victor A.

First time trying this little hole in the wall hidden in La Verne. I had to try their burrito since it looked delicious on the menu and a patron just served next to us. The wet red/green shrimp burrito minus the beans was delicious 9/10. The wifey ordered the taquitos and a tostada which also didn't disappoint 9/10. The chips and salsa 8/10 were a nice starter. The only disappointment was the service. Waitress did not write down our order and she completely forgot the tostada which came about 10 minutes later. We were checked in on once and we waited about 15 minutes for the check after finishing our meal. She wasn't extremely busy so the missed entree and extra wait could've easily made this a 3 star review. The cook saved the day thankfully. We'll give it another try again.

This is a great place to meet up with family. It's a spacious restaurant and clean. Our waitress was nice but maybe she was new because she messed up some orders, she was about correcting them right away. This place is very affordable and the food is good! We ordered: tacos dorados de papa, quesobirrias, chorizo bowl, cheeseburger...everything was homemade even the cheeseburger! Good experience overall coming here!

Twist tie found in my fish taco.

The food was horrible and the wait was longer than promised. We were told 15 minutes to pick up food and it took 35 minutes. When we got home, the fish taco had a twist tie in it and the food was overall disappointing. We ordered Tacos, churros, fish taco and chalupa. This was the first and last time we will patronize this restaurant.

Carne Asada taco ( no flavor)

Working close by I decided to stop and try this place- first impressions are everything- walking in restaurant was clean, I noticed an A health grade on window. One cashier/waitress. I ordered 2 tacos and a cucumber/lime drink. The drink I give it a 10- tasted fresh and authentic- taco? Missing flavor! Meat had a lot of fat.. and guacamole on top no flavor.. salsas. Creamy but not my kinda salsa for tacos I'd like. Overall I give them a hard 3 star.

2 very tiny Tacos Dorados covered in lettuce.

I got the tacos dorados. 1 beef and 1 chicken. The girl asked if I wanted everything on them. I said yes please. What I got was 2 very tiny 2 bite tacos hidden in lettuce. The chicken one has no flavor and the beef one was 60% fat. I asked the girl if they had any lunch specials or any taco Tuesday specials. It was also cinco de mayo and they didn't have any specials. My wife got 2 asada tacos. 1 of her tacos had more meat than both mine together. There was 2 places to sit because the other tables hadn't been cleaned. The waitress were nice and asked if we wanted anything else. That was the only thing good. Food was not worth the price.

Huevos con Chorizo

I decided to give this local restaurant a second try yesterday morning and the quality of customer service was the biggest change. Our server was very welcoming, professional, and attentive. She greeted us at the door and checked in on our table periodically. Huge difference from my first experience here. The main highlight from breakfast was the Champurrado. You can taste the authentic Mexican flavors, it wasn't soupy or clumpy and it was served at the right temperature. One cup of this deliciousness is filling. So good! The food on the other hand was okay. I ordered the chorizo with eggs which came with a side of beans. The beans were beans but they were good. The chorizo had a weird taste, tangy almost, no hint of spicy flavor. Bummer. My husband ordered chilaquiles served with two eggs, chopped steak, and beans. I can't really comment on flavor of his dish but he finished his plate. Overall, this is a comfortable spot for a warm mug of Champurrado. The restaurant is small but there is ample space.

Small pozole

It was our first time so I can't compare Amy of the food. I got pork pozole and it was underwhelming. My husbands bean and cheese burrito was good but small. Store is clean and colorful. The server was blunt but sweet.

This place reminds me of a place in my town in Jalisco food is 5 stars, service its great , decor its eye catching my family enjoys coming here. Efi always ready to get us going with food suggestions she is great and I noticed she is popular even when busy she has a good character helping everyone. I will definitely recommend this restaurant. I had several dishes since we been coming here I can never go wrong at this restaurant , today I had filet of fish with a garlic sauce came with a colorful salad pretty healthy no doubt. it was delicious,

Large menudo

It was just ok. We were looking for authentic Mexican food in the area. The restaurant was nice, the service was really good. The food was hit and miss. The menudo was a hit. It had good flavor and lots of meat. The asada soft taco was also a hit. The meat was tender, the tortillas were fresh, and it included guacamole. The rice and beans were ok. The enchilada was also ok. The salsa was a total miss. It had a sweeter taste to it, and had no real spice at all. The salsa really matters when eating Mexican food, and it just wasn't the best.

Refried beans

I'm beginning to question the choices in my life. Like, why do I ever go anywhere else for tacos when these tacos are incredible? Why do I ever go anywhere else for Mexican food when these guys are the best? It was a Tuesday night so what does that mean? It's time for Tacos obviously. I do love me some tacos. I have chased down legendary taco trucks and been to smallest of hole in the wall places for tacos. I've had them at the fair, I've had them everywhere. Seriously, these are right up there as the best. The handmade tortillas, the guacamole and meat spiced just right. No need to go anywhere else. My wife absolutely loved the Flatas and beans. She doesn't typically care for rice at most places, but I didn't even notice a grain of it left on her plate. The refried beans were phenomenal. The service is always great. They are very attentive and helpful. Personally, I prefer sitting in a booth when I'm out to eat so that is the only real drawback here for me. 5 stars from start to finish.

Nevertheless, the cashier was super friendly and even brought my food and drink out to my table. I was delighted to discover just how generous the meat portions were in the chicken, carnitas, al pastor, and buche tacos! The meat was practically overflowing at times, which I definitely appreciated since sometimes it can feel like you're eating more tortilla than filling haha. In the moment, I only managed to eat 2 of my 4 tacos and ended up saving the other 2 for later. Still just as good! As for the Cucumber Lime Agua Fresca, I loved how huge the cup was, and it was indeed super refreshing. Perfect for a hot day!! Overall, I enjoyed how spacious the restaurant was inside. If I ever came back with a group, there would definitely be plenty of seating available.

My biggest problem with this place is they are way too slow. You can come late in the afternoon after the lunch rush-hour and they are still way slow with only just two or three tables with people. Seriously too slow. No excuse for this other than management is NOT on top of their game. They need to step it up or they or they are going to lose business. You can't operate like this let alone in a downtown environment.

I was hoping they would have a Taco Tuesday special or something but they don't... I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor tacos to go. They were prettty solid and delicious! Carne asada was really nice, the al pastor was definitely more flavorful, but it had more of the burnt ends, so it was either even more flavorful from the charred parts, or it was a bit hard and too crispy to have. Overall, still pretty nice though. I liked how they had the side bar, which it doesn't look entirely the cleanest, but pretty decent. Total for 3 tacos came out to be $9, so it's about $3 each. Kinda high for tacos imo, but they're pretty good.

Parking is limited, so we were happy to snag one of the last spots. This is an order-at-the-counter spot with a salsa bar, hot beans, indoor and outdoor seating, and even Mexican Coke. Indoor seating is also pretty limited, so my friend and I were glad to grab one of the small tables. I ordered the lengua and asada tacos and both were flavorful, tender, and loaded with meat. I was honestly too hungry and eager to take a picture beforehand, but I can assure you the portions are plentiful. The tacos were a little greasy, but still really satisfying. Solid taco spot if you're in Pomona.

I love a good hard shell taco and the carne asada was so flavorful and had the char-grilled taste that I absolutely love! The tacos were pretty big too which made me so full. The food and service have definitely had their ups and downs over the years. It's still good, but I don't think it's quite what it used to be, especially at the current price point. I stopped in on a Sunday evening when Claremont Village was pretty light. There were several families enjoying themselves on the patio, which is still a nice place to grab a bite and hang out. The biggest issue this visit was the wait. There was one person steadily working on fresh tortilla production, which I could appreciate, but the cashier was also the person cooking and preparing all the food. I had a larger order for my family, so I was already waiting a while when I watched another family walk up. They were acknowledged, but after waiting at least five minutes without getting a chance to actually place their order, they eventually left. While I was waiting, I went over to the self-serve salsa bar, which was pretty much dry. There wasn't any obvious sign of a fresh restock happening either. If you're going to have a self-serve salsa bar, it should be stocked. The fish tacos were the highlight for me. The fish was a nice thick cut, with fresh cabbage and a spicy sauce that worked really well. The nachos had potential, but the asada was overcooked and a little dry. Overall, Petiscos is still good, but the price is higher than I think it should be, and the wait time doesn't help. I've been coming here long enough that I know what I'm getting, and it's close enough to home that I'll come back when it's convenient. This isn't somewhere I'd take someone to impress or go when I'm looking for a really good meal. I'm not sure I'd even recommend it to an out-of-towner. It's more of a casual stop or a place to grab something with the family and hang out on the patio. Overall, still good enough to come back to from time to time, but it's shy of being one of the better spots around.
