This is a really beautiful spot to sit down. Food was fantastic, service was super attentive and friendly.
A fantastic meal. The finger plate appetizer has a sampling of their popular apps. Some crab Rangoon's, some egg rolls, some chicken egg rolls and potstickers. All of them were excellent. None overly greasy. Pad Thai: got it with shrimp. The shrimp were detailed which was nice. The noodles were so flavorful and had a nice serving of peanuts to add crunch. Pangnang Curry was also a hit. A little less thick than others I've had but possibly the best tasting. Served with a generous portion of rice, this is a dish I'd always get. We ended with mango sticky rice. Warm sticky rice with plenty of mango on the side and a sweet condensed milk sauce. The mangos were a little under ripe which made for a nice tangy contrast in some bites. The rice itself was amazing. Service was really great. The server was very attentive and friendly. They were closing and he made sure to ask us if we wanted dessert before they closed the kitchen so he could place the order. Overall it was amazing, will be back soon
Got takeout from Oliang - food remained hot, portions were fair, and was still good the next day reheated. The panang curry wasnt that spicy, super rich and creamy, the noodles go well with it but I think rice would hit diff The pad kee mao was tasty and had a nice variety of toppings with spicy smoky kick to it. Overall i would return to both try a seated dining experience and to get a Thai fix in for a night
I've seen a few tik toks that claim Oliang has the best crab Rangoon. We were in the area so I had to check it out. -Parking can be rough, it's on Ashland and it's busy but there's street parking. -We were seated right away, the server was very friendly and the decor was super cute. I saw one other couple dining. Love all the plants. -Now the crab Rangoon.. very good. On the smaller side, tasted very fresh. I was getting a carrot taste, which I wasn't expecting. But it was good. You get 6 and to share it was prefect. The dipping sauce was very good. And they weren't greasy at all. -I ordered the Thai ice tea and it was very good and not overly sweet. My wife ordered this pineapple and mango boba tea and it was absolutely delicious. - I ordered a Pad Se woo to go. With combination of meat and wow there was so much meat. It was delicious. My wife ordered the Pad Thai, also packed with chicken, it was good.
Very good food and service! The curries and noodles are amazing and the drinks are very good as well! We loved their crab rangoons and other appetizers. Parking is so hard with the location on Ashland so be careful. Glad to see that a sister sushi restaurant opened downtown! The space inside and the ambiance are very nice. I'm glad they opted to drop the cafe portion of their restaurant (the coffee was not very good when I first went) and focused on the food.
Always consistent, great neighborhood spot. Picked up to go and the food was very hot. Pad Thai was a bit too saucy but and pad won sen had great flavor. Excellent for a quick dinner!
So glad my husband and I found this place randomly when we were craving thai food. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The service is amazing and the restaurant itself is very cute! This place is the best for thai food in the neighborhood. I have pretty much tried everything on the menu and every item has been delicious. This is our go to thai place for dine in and take out! The crab rangoons are a must! Their red curry and thai fried rice are amazing. The thai ice tea is very refreshing. Great place for date nights and families too!
this hit the spot. Meat was tender which I wasn't rly expecting th. Chicken would've also prob been good. Broth was rly nice, spice blend felt fresh or at least more varied than other Thai places. Thai tea was solid and other dishes looked good. Hard to judge too much based on one dish but was a fan. Vibes were def more like yea this is a Thai place in Lincoln park not a hole in the wall but not mad at that. Still Thai enough to be valid and not too pricey. Great value, brought leftover curry broth home to make something. Would be back for mango sticky rice and the rest of the menu.
This place was absolutely amazing! Truly authentic Thai food with flavors that speak for themselves. The owner made the experience even better--he welcomed me like family from the moment I walked in. Since it was my first time, he asked about my favorite Thai dishes and personally recommended a couple of items. The chicken baby egg rolls were phenomenal--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. Then he introduced me to a new dish they created: crispy wonton Pad Thai. Let me just say... I ate every single bite. It was fresh, unique, and incredibly satisfying--even with tofu (and I didn't even miss the chicken!). I will definitely be back again and again. Highly recommend!
Had a great experience here overall. The food was good, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was excellent. The real standout was the duck curry. It was perfectly balanced with sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, and easily the best dish on the table. I'd come back just for that alone. Definitely worth a visit
Such a cute restaurant! They close earlier than listed. Came in caz it looked cute and was curious from the street. Cute drinks and yummy food. The garlic n pepper steak was really good! Would love to try other items on the menu. Cute decor.
Rating: 4.2/5. My favorite Thai restaurant in Chicago. Oliang has turned me into a BIG Pad Kee Mao fan. The basil fried rice and khao soo are also delicious. Olivia and Nadia take great care of us every time we eat here.

Service is great and the people who own the restaurant are very kind. The decor inside is very cute with the hanging lights and plants.
I immediately liked the atmosphere, especially the soothing music and warm welcome from the pretty hostess. It's a perfect place for a quiet first date, with plenty of large and spacious tables for two people. I ordered Thai Iced tea, which is sweet and refreshing. I started with Shumai, fried with a generous amount of dumplings, 8 or 9 pieces good enough for two. For my main course, I ordered the Pineapple Shrimp Curry; it was delicious, especially the silky smooth sauce. Although they give you plenty of Shrimp, I thought they were a bit "rubbery." The sauce was tasty with tomatoes, chunks of pineapple, and coconut Milk. I will go back again, but I would order something different. read more
Overall Thoughts: This is a relatively new Thai spot in Lincoln Park with cute, green, aesthetic vibes. The space is fairly small, with 8 tables total that seat 2-4 people. I came on a Thursday night for dinner and it wasn't too crowded. The menu offers standard Thai fare with all the staples from noodles to curries to stir-fried entrees. I ordered the Khao Soi Chicken, which tasted good, but wasn't that traditional in its ingredient profile. The broth and egg noodles were both deliciously creamy with a strong curry taste, and had a mild spicy flare. However, I wish they used the traditional chicken drumstick instead of chicken breast, which was a bit dry and not as flavorful. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick. The prices are pretty standard for the area-- not unreasonably high, but not low either. A new thai restaurant in the park west(?) area! Free parking is available right in front but Ashland is a busy street so it might be difficult. They were still working on the decorations on the place, but the inside is basically done and it is so cute! Loved it. The waitress was very attentive, friendly and helpful with the menu items. Appetizer Combo: a little bit of everything! Was surprised to see fried spring rolls here as I do not see it often. A personal favorite of mine. The crab ra goons were nice. Sauce was just right. Would recommend for a group! 7.9/10 Noodle: I forget the name of the dish but it was great. The crispy noodles on top is a nice texture mix up and they have noodles at the bottom soaking up all the flavor of the soup. Acidity of the lime brings it all together. Came with a decent amount of chicken as well. I did get a taste of the pad thai which was also good, but glad I picked this to mix up from the usual. 8.1/10 read more

Very authentic Thai food. For 5 people , we started with an order of steamed chicken dumplings, an order of steamed shrimp dumplings and an order of mini egg rolls. We then shared an order of green curry with shrimp, an order of beef pad see ew and an order of shrimp pad woon sen. Everything was good. Be warned authentically spicy but solidly good. Atmosphere is bare bones casual with some lovely plants. Probably about 6-8 tables. Service was good. Not outstanding but definitely pretty good overall read more

I crave takeout from here AT LEAST once a week. The yellow curry medium spice hits every time! My partner always get the panang curry and love it as well. Do not, I repeat, do NOT forget to get crab rangoons here. Everything we've tried is amazing and I look forward to my frequent cravings. read more

First time ordering in, and everything was fantastic. It's a little pricier than other Thai places, but it's great quality and flavors, generous portions. I thought their Pad Woon Sen was one of the better ones I've had in the city. I'll definitely order again and try other noodle dishes. Oliang, please add Papaya Salad to your menu :) read more

Great spot for Thai food in a great location. Easy street parking. Great service. Lovely little inside. Excellent food. Definitely recommend each of the dishes. I ordered delivery from this place and was impressed! The pad Thai was so tasty, delivered quick and the rangoons were amazing! The Thai tea was the best I have had in Chicago so far!!! Due to the Thai tea craving I decided to go in person storefront and was blown away! Such a calm, clean and relaxing environment with amazing service!!! Thai would be a great place to study or read!! Their prices are more than fair and the flavor is there!!! Great spot! read more

Thai food is a major food group for me and I can easily say this is one of the best in the city. The space is beautiful with all the greenery and the owner is very hands on and pleasant. You can tell that see loves her restaurant and customers. Crab rangoon - 4/5 They evenly fried and generously filled Pad ke mao - 5/5 We got ours our medium spicy with shrimp. It was amazing! The flavors were balanced and the veggies crisp. Good level of spice but get mild if you don't like spicy food Penang curry - 5/5 Very, very good. The curry had depth and was the right consistency. This was milder but a nice break from the spice of the other dish. I will definitely be back to try the other dishes. I think the price is justified by the quality and portion of the dishes. read more
My friend had tried Thai food before and came across a reel on ig. I further researched to see that they had great reviews. The food was delicious and very fresh. We both loved the crab rangoon. The garlic & pepper beef was a little over cooked. The pad Thai was amazing (beef, chicken and shrimp. My friend was sure about the jasmine tea but ended up loving it. This literally checked every box! If you love Thai food.. run, dont walk. Pro tip: They do accept reservations over the phone. Also plenty of FREE parking right in front. Came here on a Saturday evening and the place was packed. Very inconspicuous location from the outside. Cozy interior, open kitchen letting out all the delicious smells, and the staff was incredibly kind. We ordered: 1) Coconut shrimp 5/5: Fresh, crispy, delicious pieces of shrimp fried so well that you don't even get a sliver taste of oil. Comes with 5 pieces. Must get. 2) Khao Soi Chicken 5/5: The crispy noodles just melt into the warm, thick, inviting curry sauce. The chicken is incredibly fresh, and even carries its own flavor ON TOP of the curry. Must get. 3) Pad Thai (combination) 5/5: Top 3 pad thai I've had in the city. The warm sticky noodles are complimented by the very generous serving of protein. The veggies are crisp, not soggy like in most places, and give the appearance of as though they were just picked from the garden. I wont take a star off for this, my only complaints are: 1) They dont serve alcohol, nor allow BYOB. 2) They were out of the crab rangoon, the wide noodles used in the Panang Noodle dish, and the brown sugar bubble tea Will definitely come back and try the rest of the dishes. read more
Been here twice, the food is excellent and the service was very good. We appreciated that the panang curry with chicken actually had a good amount of meat, and was delicious! Panang curry is easily our favorite and they didn't disappoint! We also really enjoyed the Pad Se Ew with Beef. The veggies were cooked perfectly (actually in everything, the veggies were great. We also love the Thai fried rice with tofu, if we're full we'll take one to go. Tried the spicy beef salad this last time, delicious.. a little spicy and refreshing. read more

this place was excellent! it's new and the owners were so nice. I got there at 110:55am (they open at 11am) and let me in immediately. I ordered the pinky milk boba drink and they didn't have the boba ready yet since I was there so early but they brought me out the drink first, then brought me the boba later which was so nice. I'd never had this drink before-- it's suuuper sweet and has the same general flavor as strawberry milk! also I'm usually really picky about my boba and their boba texture was actually really good. I got the pad Thai which I usually don't get at Thai restaurants so it's hard to compare but it was great (most pad Thai is great though lol). my friend got the Khao soi and it was also really good and not too spicy for me which is surprising! I'd definitely come here again, it's such a cute vibe and would be a nice place to just sit in and work as well as grab a meal read more

Dude best pad see ew and pad Thai in the city. It's everything you want and more! The place is so cute and covered it plants which gives it such a cool vibe, but more importantly the food is amazing! The place is fairly new and is run by a group of friends. They are young, super sweet, and are quite talented! We went when they were training the new cook. So at first, I was expecting it to be not as good, but I was so wrong. These noodles are nice and chewy the pad see ew had a great char that other places lack, the flavor is so full and flavorful. I'm definitely coming back soon! read more
You can tell this unusual space has had many former lives but the current tenant has done a good job disguising an older building with some quirks and transforming it into a tropical environment. The service was polite and attentive. Lots of two seater tables so it's good for a quick lunch date. Our fried coconut shrimp app came quickly with the usual sweet/sour dipping sauce. Breading was a little thick but still tasty. For mains, we had the Penang curry and pad kee mao. Both were tasty with a good amount of spice. Nothing stood out as wow, I need to come back for this, but we enjoyed a good, quick meal in under an hour. read more
My friend and I stopped in for lunch today as we were both craving for some Thai food. To start, we shared the Guichai [pan-fried chive dumplings] which were delicious. I had the Chicken Pad Thai and my friend had the Panang Special Noodles. I'm usually not big on pad thai but after reading the wonderful reviews, I decided to try it. The flavors were incredible, and the ingredients tasted very fresh. My friend loved her dish as well. The chef and waitress were both very sweet people. Will definitely be back again! read more

My bf and I came to Oliang for lunch. It was relatively quiet so we did not have to wait too long for a table. To start, the place was nicely decorated and designed. I loved the open kitchen concept. You can smell the aroma of the food being cooked. We ordered the following: - Guichai (Pan-fried Chive Cakes) / 8.5 out of 10: This brings back childhood memories. It was light and crispy on the outside and warm with the right amount of bite of the rice cake on the inside. I wished there were a bit more chives but otherwise, it was yummy. The sauce that it came with was equally delicious to pair with the guichai. - Panang Noodle (Medium Spicy) / 10 out of 10: I've never had panang noodles before, usually just by itself with a side of rice. This take on panang noodle was so good. It is a must try for sure. The medium spicy level was spicy but nothing anyone can't handle if you're used to eating spicy food. In fact, we thought it could be spicier. There were plenty of vegetables and meat. The noodles appeared to be fried on the wok as you can see and taste the char. The panang sauce was not overpowering and had a good amount of coconut to balance the spice and make it creamy. - Spicy Beef Salad (Medium Spicy) / 10 out of 10: The spicy beef salad was a refreshing dish to add to the meal. The slices of beef grilled and topped on the bed of vegetable, Thai chilis, and drizzled with their sauce made for a perfect pairing. The sauce had a touch of citrus to balance out the fish sauce. While this was on a medium spice level, it was spicier than the panang noodle. Overall, for a first impression visit, we would definitely come back again to try the rest of the menu. read more
Walking in felt like we has been transported. Cozy, quaint, lots of plants, big pictures window....loves the ambiance. We received a warm friendly welcome as well. Thai tea was the best I've had. All the food was perfectly balance flavor wise. I tried all my go to favorite dishes and each one was so yummy. I'll be back to try thr crab rangoon...since they were out this time. read more
