    Quality deli
    Jill A.

Road trip worth taking to South Forth Worth down 35, just past Grandview in the quiet town of Itasca. Humble Christian owners serve fresh, quality deli meats and large array of cheeses on homemade bread. Bulk items include spices, extracts, baking goods, and chocolate dipped goodies. Jalapeño cheese, pizza bread will tempt you and if that is not enough, fresh fried pies in many varieties, lemon chess, brownies, cookies, and loaves to delight in fresh apple and pumpkin. You can also pick up preserves and fresh bulk butter and make a meal. Your kids will like the ghost town square to run around while you enjoy the slow life past the hustle and bustle of city life.

What a cute little town square, Itasca!

Simply amazing! What a cute little town square and such a cute country store. Be prepared to be blown away with the products, many of which you've never seen before. Check out the deli in the back and get one of their amazing subs or sandwiches. No more stopping for fast food in Hillsboro, we'll be back at the Olde Towne Country Store every time we drive up to North Texas.

Delicious sandwiches and homemade fried pies. They also have a wonderful variety of unique grocery items. This place is one of my favorite stores I have ever visited.

The best pastrami/swiss EVER! And this is just half of the sandwich!

Worth stopping by for sure! The BEST pastrami sandwich ever!!! My wife and I decided to stop by this little town just off of I-35W On our way from Ft. Worth to San Antonio, ... Holy cow! A place like no other! As soon as you walk into this small establishment you'll find Amish folks working there with shelves of fresh baked bread and deserts, about a dozen different fried fruit and pecan pies (many with no sugar added), various hard to find spices, homemade snacks, candies, nut mixes, local honey, exotic chips and other food items, all mostly organic and fresh. They have a sitting area with a small deli that you can make sandwiches to order. I asked for pastrami with swish cheese, banana peppers on cheddar-jalapeno bread with all the fixins... one of the BEST sandwiches I've ever had!!! And it was a huge sandwich under $7 and was oh my God delicious! I'm definitely making this place one of my regular stops. Worth taking a special trip to on a weekend.

And while the other one is great and fabulous, this one is one star better. A huge selection of baked goods, coffee, decor, clothing, drinks and more. The Kissing Pig Cafe has so many food options, too! Mrs. K. has not had a kolache in years and she's now pescatarian which presents certain challenges. It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. So much great stuff to choose from here and very, very clean restrooms. If you're overwhelmed by that massive baked goods counter, just ask for recommendations. They'll get you sorted for sure! Excellent selection of kolaches and klobasneky. You can also buy sandwiches. Minus: as on previous visits, I have found that they are often out of poppyseed and prune kolaches. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.

Soooooooo now that they remodeled and expanded the dining experience was great! Other than the fact that they serve Pepsi. The ordering is a bit like the "Soup N***i" like on Seinfeld; you better be ready to order when it's your turn. I found it funny and they are really quick to get your order started and then you pay. It's interesting that the kitchen runs with minimum employees working. My husband loved his Mark Cuban sandwich, the mustard taste was key for him and I really liked the Pastrami which is the classic sandwich toasted on marble rye bread, cheese, sauerkraut and thousand island dressing. Both served with chips. Love the expansion where there were lots of tables, relaxing view of Main Street. The head cook, not sure if he was the manager but came out and asked if you enjoyed your meal, he was personable. Nice touch. Awesome experience and will be back.
