Billboards along the Interstate for the last half hour ensured that there was no way I was going to miss stopping at a new-to-me Buc-ee's. Pulling into the parking lot and it was immediately familiar in the best possible way. From the big yellow Buc-ee's sign saying "HILLSBORO" to the EV charging stations, miles of pumps and big crowds, it's completely consistent with the brand. Stepping inside at 3:30 on a weekday afternoon, I immediately heard the shouted "Fresh brisket on the board" and was practically knocked down by that familiar smell of candied nuts. Of course, they have all the things here that they have elsewhere including decent snacks, banana pudding, jerky, candy, fudge and lots of drinks. The coffee bar was fully stocked even in the afternoon. My only purchase today was the Buc-ee's fridge magnet. I took a look at the shirts and hats, but opted to skip those. In the land of all things bigger, Buc-ee's is the absolute expectation when cruising down a Texas highway! This Buc-ee's sits alongside 77 in Hillsboro and was a pleasant surprise on our day trip to Waco from Arlington. We were good on gas, but I can never pass up the opportunity to wander around a Buc-ee's, scoop up some chocolate covered peanuts, a sweet tea and of course, some variety of brisket. This Buc-ee's wasn't the biggest I have visited, but it still had all the goods and friendly/efficient folks working all the counters and registers. This location is MASSIVE and somehow still spotless, which honestly blows my mind considering how busy it gets. The bathrooms alone deserve their own award. Rows and rows of snacks, candy, jerky, drinks, merch, and things you didn't know you needed but suddenly do. The food options are wild for a gas stop too. I used to get the brisket all the time but my husband convinced me that the chicken one is even better. I like the fluffiness of the bread and the sweet sauce inside enhances it. When you relocate to a zip code that's so undeniably wrongly coded for you, you decide rather immediately to see and do whatever the hell you think you'll want to see and do before getting the heck out!!! Enter Buc-ee's! Had never heard of one until my son asked if I'd been to one yet. In my defense I had heard of Whataburger (never eaten at one until my son flew in late on evening and nothing was open), but never a kolache until a couple of years ago. Unfortunately there is not a Buc-ee's real close to me so I was super excited to stumble upon not one, but two of them on a recent road trip. Huge shout out to their marketing team, the highway signage literally pops up every blink of an eye when you're in at least 30miles of one. I haven't done my research so don't quote me on that, but trust when I say you'll know when one will be around. I was so excited when we walked in! I immediately grabbed two glow in the dark Halloween shirts. I'm totes mailing one to my adult son who hasn't yet experienced a Buc-ee's. My bff and I toured most of the store and I left with fudge, jerkey, shirts, and a brisket sandwich that we devoured in about 5min flat. Great place to stop on road trips! Clean restrooms. Who doesn't love Buc-ee's? I am obsessed. I live to visit any location at any given time. We all know how crowded and insanely busy it can get, especially on the weekends. This location (as most) handles the crowds with speedy and efficient checkout. Always great food selections and novelty items. Had barbecue here and it was good. Love watching them make it on-site. I love the little dog walking area behind the back of the building too. Comes complete with doggy poop bags. That's a plus for sure. read more

Staff is friendly and store is clean. My complaint today is that they have apparently changed their policy on selling chopped brisket. I would like a brisket sandwich with no bun, but I cannot order less than 1lb of chopped brisket. I would understand this policy during off hours, but it was 5:30pm on a busy Saturday, and they had just finished chopping a new brisket. The brisket counter manager was polite but refused to even make a sandwich and leave off the bun. This policy is ridiculous. read more

Nice just to get out of the car and stretch the legs, but then you can spend way too much time inside, there's so much to see. This Buc-ee's was one of the more chaotic locations I've visited. It was an absolute circus both inside and out at the gas pumps with long lines and tons of people milling around. I think they could have really used more crowd control. Despite the chaos, the store was very clean and well stocked. I never saw any empty shelves! The bathrooms were also pretty sparkling clean, so they were pleasant to use. The employees clearly work hard. I appreciate the wide variety of snacks and merch. I could spend an hour wandering the gift section easily. The biggest disappointment was that they did not have any fountain Diet Coke (just a slightly off tasting house brand). I ended up having to pay 3x the cost of the fountain drinks to get a bottle. A crispy fountain DC is my road trip must-have, so this was a huge bummer. read more

I will almost always stop at a Buc-ee's even if and when I have all I need , just because I know I'm going to find something amazing in there . This last time around we were making a small trip to Austin Texas from Dallas. I always see so many pple walking around with Buc-ee's merchandise (hats, shirts, sweaters, etc ), so I had to make sure I stopped to get me a little something as well . We intended to only be in there for a few mins( in and out ), but we end up spending close to 30 mins browsing around. THE CALIFORNIAN MIND CANNOT COMPREHEND THE MAJESTY OF BUC-EE'S. My god, a single step in and I KNEW I was immediately going to become a big, big Buc-ee's fan. Super cheap gas, that becomes even cheaper with a purchase of their car wash. Insanely clean bathrooms with so, so many stalls. Crazy that they also had a light indicator system showing which stalls were occupied and which ones were vacant. This location even had more sinks/handwash stations/trashcans in the rest room than the one in Temple (which in its own right is massively huge). There's freshly made sandwiches, burritos (their Texas Philly Cheesesteak - aka cheesesteak burrito is a MUST), bakery goods such as kolaches, a huge wall of super cheap fountain drink soda, fresh jerky and glazed nuts, fudge made in house, entire walls of so, so many flavors of jerky, nuts, candies, chips, and sweets, and OF COURSE the Buc-ee's merchandise! My GOD I love the branding that Buc-ee's has. SO MUCH of their foods and snack stuffs are owned and produced by them and I gotta admit, that stuff is GOOD. Gotta get the Beaver Nuggets (tastes like kettle corn/Captain Crunch puffs), their jerky (Bohemian garlic is pretty good), and nuts/trailmix (dad is a big fan of the bagel seasoning cashews I brought back). I also got some really yummy mango sour belts, flavor that I have never seen elsewhere. Their merch is super cute too and trendy too, if I wasn't limited by my flight and bags, I would have went even more crazy than I did here. Cute seasonal Halloween Buc-ee's goods, shirts and other apparel, useful items like bottle opener nail clipper, magnets, hats, all forms of beverage holders, plushies of all sizes galore, car goods like peeker stickers, air fresheners, bumper stickers, license plate frames, etc., playing cards, keychains, coasters (coworkers loved these), stickers, lawn inflatables, pool floats, and so much more. A very interesting experience at Bucee, so many good food and snack options to browse through. I ended up getting the but samplers, jerky, beaver nuggets , and souvenirs while's shopping. The bathroom were in fact very clean. Gas was super cheap compared to others in the area. My only negative is just how busy it is with people coming in and out, very likely to get a fender bender. Wow, just wow!! This was my first time ever in a Buc-ee's as I live in a state that doesn't have one. This place is incredible, it's like walking into a giant convenience store with all sorts of food, sandwiches, candy, candied nuts, jerky, and much, much more! They have many beverages including alcoholic ones. They have clothing including the Bu-cee Beaver onesie! I tried it on and I bought it. A great Halloween costume! Plenty of gas pumps here and tons of parking. It was definitely busy when we were here, but not packed by any stretch. Restrooms were nice and clean as anticipated. I look forward to hopefully visiting another Buc-ee's while I'm visiting Texas to take a few more unique gifts back home. Brand new Buc-ee's. I was concerned that the in-and-out would be difficult due to the location, but I didn't find that to be true. It was easy--same food and service as every other Buc-ee's. The bathroom is clean. This bathroom has lights above the doors to indicate which ones are free. Better than walking past all the doors to figure it out. Gas is the main reason we stop here. Always a few cents cheaper than other places. Food is higher than in other places. If you stay to fill your gas tank and empty your bladder, but not refill your stomach, it's a great stop. Buc-ee's is so big now, there's no more homemade taste - the bbq sandwich we got had this weird chemical "smoke" flavor added. One bite was all we could do before tossing it in the trash. It was bustling with people, and it's clear that many make a point to stop here--and for good reason. While some items are on the pricier side, it's absolutely worth stopping in if you've never experienced it before.
