Stop in this distillery located at exit 407... same exit as Buc-ees and the road to Pigeon Forge and the Smoky Mountains. They offer 6 tasting for free to sample their moonshines( several flavors- love the coffee infused), cream liquors, flavored whisky and their bourbon whisky's. Ask a lot of questions and the staff is great to interact with.... The holidays are coming..... this is a great place to pick up a few of their bottles for family, friends and yourself.... Old Tennessee Distilling - Old moonshine truck - Distilleries Near Me - Kodak, Tennessee

A very good tasting experience off the beaten path. Usually not nearly as busy as the distillery tastings near PF and G. Somewhat better selection of products; typical moonshines, several creams (which are very good), rums, gin, and some actual bourbons and whiskeys. Six samples at no cost. Choose wisely because there is a vast selection. Bourbon/whiskey samples run $15 for five, with a wee glen to take home. Well worth the trip. Go near lunch and hit the Chop House nearby for a great burger. read more

We did a free tasting there and got some of their $5 cocktails and it was all so great. The person serving us had so many fun combos that we could try too. It wasn't too crowded when we came even though we were there on a holiday weekend which I kind of liked. The tastings were all great... I warn you though, think twice before trying 140.7... it's no joke read more

Cool new venue. The staff were nice and the had several good products. Worth a try if you are in the area.

I am not a fan of moonshine style alcohol, but with that said, this is a neat place. I visited as part of a large tour group and was pleasantly surprised to find all the employees to be helpful and attentive. We were offered tastings of several style of moonshine and this was very educational. I had no idea you could have so many flavors of 'shine. This is a delightful place for a really unique gift for the person who enjoys alcohol. read more

Old Tennessee Distilling - Samples menu May 2022 - Distilleries Near Me - Kodak, Tennessee

Took a quick stop on a very long undesirable road trip and I must say this was the highlight to the road trip. You may have been to other distilleries before, maybe a vineyard or a pub but this place is one of a kind. You walk in and you can smell the moonshine being made. You walk around the store and see all the different moonshines available and because you are now confused, they then offer you a sample, which then only confuses you more cause you can't make up your mind on which one you want and you come out the place broke! But have I mentioned, oh the things you can do with moonshine!! So after sampling a few moonshines because there are so many, we decided on a few and got in line I CHECKED IN WITH YELP, a BOOM, a free cocktail with any purchase! Yes PLEASE!!! Are you a veteran? Make sure you tell them as they give a discount. Overall a great little stop and now my new go to drink! read more

Amy was a wonderful lady. She had great recommendations for what to try. She has been one of the best bartenders we have had here.

When we play tourist and head to moonshine tastings this is always our first stop. We brought my parents for their first shine tasting - oh boy! This was our second time having Ken as our host/server. He instantly saw my dads Vietnam hat and thanked my dad for his service. With this being my parents first time he was great at walking through the options and helping my parents understand the differences between creams (rum), shines, their whiskies etc! We had fun trying new combinations and learning about what goes well together! Found a new summer drink too! We ended up both getting a couple bottles. The blackberry (mixed with black cherry lemonade) and then Honey Peach Cream (great on own over ice). We started off the day right and finished strong but this was a great way to start! If you are local they offer a discount and if you are military they offer a discount. If you can ask for Ken to be your host he won't disappoint! read more

This was my first time trying moonshine and it did NOT disappoint. A few that I liked were the nanner puddin, choco, apple pie, and the Off The Still. Also the s'mores whiskey was really nice with a brownie I had for dessert. Our server for tastings was amazing and very knowledgeable about what to mix with certain shines' and the store front is pretty nice to walk. read more

If you like moonshine or whiskey, why wouldn't you stop in for free samples?! This place was awesome. It's right off the highway and you get 10 tastings of the different flavors of moonshine. All of the recommendations were delicious. They have top shelf samples as well for a small fee. Lots of gifts and souvenirs for visitors. I got myself a moonshine sample pack of 6 different flavors. Can't wait! Check it out. read more

We found Old Tennessee Distilling by accident, and we were happy we did! Compared with all the touristy moonshine places in Gatlinburg, this place is well above and beyond all those. The three of us came in, sat at the bar, and were immediately received a friendly greeting from the lady serving. She explained that there was no charge for up to six tastings. So, instead of being rushed through with preselected samples, they allowed us to choose six moonshine samples of anything they sold...for free! (We disliked having to pay money for samples you know you are not going to want to try). The bartenders were friendly and fun to interact with. They even gave us some drinks suggestions. In addition to moonshine, they also have some excellent bourbons, tequila, and other spirits. They told us they make their moonshine (instead of other places, which make their shine elsewhere and then ship across the country). Our only regret is that we did not come here first. read more

While driving through TN, we saw the billboard for Thunder Road Distillery and decided to stop. Thunder Road is easily accessible from I-40, so anyone can easily come off the highway to visit. When you walk in you see a large display of various bottles of Moonshine arranged in different flavors. They also have other types of liquor scattered around the display area. In the middle of the room is a tasting table. In addition to the liquid delights- they have BBQ sauces, clothing and other items. Once you display an ID- and they ask everyone-they will serve you thimble sized portions of any flavor of moonshine you desire. For anyone wanting to try the moonshine at home but hesitant to buy a large bottle- they have a large selection of the same flavors in smaller sizes to try out. The staff had great recommendations, and were very knowledgeable about their product. We came home with some souvenir shot glasses, delicious smelling candles and of course moonshine! read more

We saw the sign while traveling through TN and decided to stop by to stretch our legs and use the restroom. The staff is so friendly. Great shop- the doors were open with clear markings for 1 way through their store and all staff wore masks. We took advantage of the free 6 samples and had a great time with our tender. He even let us try their bbq sauce...we bought 2 bottles of shine and 2 bottles of bbq sauce for the Win. Our faves were the Lemon and Mandarin infused Strawberry. Great place to visit with easy access on/off the highway. read more

My family and I came for the weekend, going to the Old Tennessee Distilling every night! The service was so good we did not find it at any of the other 5 distilleries we visited. A shoutout to Amy, Robin and Jarred for a fantastic experience. read more

The first of two visited with my daughter, Sandra, this was by far the best so far. Not just a distillery, they sold clothing, hats and even movies. You have a ten sample limit in which the person assisting answers your questions and gives details about the history and workings of the shine industry. Very pleasant and quite informed I felt after our one hour taste and answer session with the Thunder Road staff. We walked out with watermelon moonshine, a movie and a tad lighter in our steps. They have a Tennessee Whisky Trail Passport for free. You travel around the volunteer state stopping by distilleries and sample some product. Perhaps buy some to go as well. Once you complete the task, you mail in your passport, it is mailed back with a shirt. I will earn mine for sure! read more

Stopped here on a road trip through Tennessee. Awesome place...the bartenders were great, nice fun and willing to impart their knowledge of spirits.
