Ghost and grits with side of sausage Delicious!!
    Julie S.

Here again!! Had the ghost and grits with a side of sausage. Delicious and a perfect portion (not too little not too much) the dab of jam sets off the flavors! A must try! Love the calming atmosphere and great service! Draws me back!

Mossback Distillery is a hidden gem. Don't let the outside fool you the inside is stunning, with a warm, colonial charm that totally surprises you. The whiskey is smooth and flavorful. This distillery is a welcoming stop that feels like a well-kept secret. Definitely worth the visit.

Coffee, smells good and tastes even better.

I wasn't for sure what to expect with our stop at the distillery. At first I had the impression that it was an old service station. Oh was I wrong! Inside the doorway was like a time warp as we entered into an elegant speakeasy! I even had to check a label on a bottle to see if we entered the right door. Every thing was outstanding. We had perfect service and help especially since I was so surprised at my misconception of the place. The four of us, each ordered different cocktails which were superbly made by our host. As we sat and sipped our drinks the relaxation from the outside work projects just slipped away. Instead of finding a Mossback deer like I thought we found a wonderful place that is dear to us now. Named after the towns first name, Mossy Creek, it will always be on our list when visiting the area.

This was my first time to this establishment since I realized they opened about a year ago. It was a nice place to sit, enjoy conversation with friends and sip on a locally crafted drink! The tasting house has a menu that offers a number of cocktails and mocktails with their house made syrups and spirits. You can also buy their spirits by the bottle there as well. They make their own vodka, burbon, whiskey and rum (I believe). I love the speakeasy vibe they created with their decor--it's just lovely! I also love a local business that also partners with and supports other local businesses. The distillery has teamed up with a local farm stand to get some of the fruits they use in their drinks and garnishes, a local business to occasionally serve their cheesecakes, a local coffee roaster, etc. Food trucks are regularly scheduled to be at the tasting house too. My husband got a mojito which he said was pretty good and I enjoyed my French 75. Everything about our visit was pleasant and we will definitely come back!

It took a bit for our server to come acknowledge us but once he did, he was very helpful and attentive. My boyfriend ordered a peach Kentucky mule (they originally said they couldn't make that, which we questioned with it being a distillery, but our server came back and said they could after all). He enjoyed it and said it's one of the better ones he's had! We both ordered smash burgers and sweet potato fries - I had the junction 35 (pimento cheese + bacon jam) and he had the farmhouse (bacon + fried egg). Both were amazing! Juicy burgers, perfect size patties for smash burgers, the buns were fresh and held up nicely, and the toppings were great. Sweet potato fries had a great crunch and were seasoned really well. Service was great, food was high quality and had great flavor, and the dog friendly patio was perfect for our pup. It's located in a nice little strip of shops and restaurants, and has a common area of cornhole and other games that would be fun for an activity before/after dinner, or if you have kids in tow. We'd definitely make another trip here when in the area.

Well after…read moresearching for some dinner we came across this place and the reviews were good so we gave it a shot. Let's start with the good! Our waitress was super nice and attentive. The atmosphere was good as well. It was a nice vibe with the TVs and the large projector screen. They had one of the World Cup matches on so that was nice. My husband and I both order old fashions. He order the espresso and I ordered a smoked one. By far one of the best I've ever had. We had the fried green tomatoes and they were tasty, a little more pimento would have made them perfect. Now the bad. I'm not sure what all the other folks ate that left such great reviews, but I can only assume that none of them had the brisket Mac and Cheese. Because it was cold and there was zero flavor. I literally had to use the BBQ sauce to get some flavor in the food. The Mac and cheese tasted like the old school powder Kraft. My husband wasn't a fan of his burger because it had the same bad Mac and cheese on it. Needless to say as much as we visit the mountains this will be our one and only time at Junction 35.
