What a happy accident. We were driving home from our vacation in North Carolina. The 411 was closed - so we had to take the detour. We buzzed past the distillery and my husband QUICKLY whipped a U at the next driveway. Boy - are we glad he did. We bought 2 whiskey glasses. The weight - the feel - the shape - PERFECTION!!! We tasted and decided to purchase the tequila. We have served it to our friends and they have asked - where did you get this tequila? We happily share. Very friendly place. Free tastings! The bartender(?) gave great suggestions and was so pleasant. Be sure to bring proper photo ID as they do not play here! Tried a few flavored and straight whiskeys. Did end up getting one to take home Parking is easy and you can even sit a bit outside. read more

Great selection of deliciously flavored whisky, vodka, bourbon, and rum. Also local snack type things such as pickled okra and different jams. It's sad that I gave up alcohol for Lent but still bought 4 bottles so I'm gonna be stuck having to sit and look at them looking back at me for the next few weeks. Soon, bottles. Soon. read more

Lots of fun testing the great options of house made whiskeys, moonshines, vodka, tequila, and liqueurs. The best thing about this place is Crystal. She is wonderful at her job. Nice road trip stop! Clean, organized store of custom logo or fun items, and if course bottles.. walls of bottles and a view of the still and bottling operation. Tons of flavors and you get eight thimble tasters just for waltzing in. Pick your flavors.. especially the mango pepper one.. Unique, strong, balanced. Bottles are reasonable priced around $25, but it's all very young.. 6mo or so.. moonshine, whisky and one bourbon. Enjoy the AC, and taste the flavors while you imagine what cocktails you'd make out of these. Three bottles get a discount, but Yelp discount is better. Thanks Angie! read more

When we were in town for a wedding my husband and I were looking for something to do before the ceremony. On our way to a restaurant for a drink we drive by this spot and decided to make a quick stop to see what it was all about. It's a little bit off of the main drag but worth a stop for a tasting some whiskey! We left with 6 bottles, some for gifts, and some for us to enjoy. I can't remember the woman who was helping us but she asked us all kinds of questions to make sure we got what we like and we were so happy with all of her recommendations! They give a discount on bottles if you buy a certain amount so that is nice too. I definitely recommend it! read more

My mom and I were visiting from Florida so we wanted to try out some good Tennessee Whiskey and we were not disappointed at all! We were welcomed with very friendly faces (through our face masks at least, due to COVID) and a super clean shop. Crystal was great and helped us a lot while shopping and choosing different spirits. I come here every time I'm in Tennessee. Sometimes I come from Florida just to stock up. Best moonshine and Whiskey in the area. Today we had Slim help us with some samples. He was awesome. This is my first Yelp review and I'm happy to say that I absolutely loved this place! While on vacation in Sevierville with the kids the adults were desperately in need of an adult beverage! We had no idea this was considered a "dry city" but we happened to come across this moonshine distillery. Very cute atmosphere and even more delightful owners. This was a fun place to stop and try some Tennessee moonshine! They offer a complimentary tasting of 8 different items (moonshine, whiskey, and cream liquors), which we thought was pretty generous. They had a good variety and were very welcoming and friendly. My favorites were the cream liqueurs- the blueberry cream and the wedding cake were very unique and mild enough to sip on. They also had pretty good prices- we left with a nice bottle of bourbon for under $30. My only complaint was that I couldn't buy a bottle of water, though they did have a water fountain which helped make up for it. The woman who poured our tasting also offered me pickle juice to help with the burn that the white lightening left behind. The pickle juice was kind of gross, but hey, it did take the burn away! Great place to try some Tennessee shine! Highly recommended. read more

Worth the drive from Gatlinburg! Maybe 45 min? Lacey was our server. We tried all the moonshines, whiskeys, and also the vodka. Went to the Mill's distillery first, so had something to compare it to. We got the blackberry moonshine at the Mill, but it was better here (sweeter). Vodka was smooth, but not as smooth as the Mill. The real standouts were the coffee, creme, and apple cinnamon. We bought a few bottles for ourselves and gifts. read more

I've never been to a distillery before and wasn't sure what to expect. But when we walked into Tennessee Legend we were greeted by Clay and he was fantastic. He was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the spirits. The distillery was super clean and the moonshine tasting was fantastic. The coffee moonshine was so good that I bought a bottle to bring home. Found this place serendipitously on our way to the Bush Bean Museum. Glad we stopped by, very friendly lady behind the bar, gave us a description of all their products and tastes of all that piqued our interest. All varieties of flavored bourbons, moonshine and other spirits we sampled were tasty and smooth. We ended up buying several bottles. A bit out of the way, but both this and the Bush Bean operation are well worth the trip out of the confines of Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Note the sign on the window states you must be 21, so not a place to stop with the kids. read more

What an experience. The staff and stories they had was entertainment enough. Very enjoyable. Diana and Clay were awesome. We tried various types of moonshine and whiskey and left with some Creme Brulee Liquer, blueberry and salted caramel moonshines, some stuffed animals for the neice and nephew and a t-shirt for my favorite sister in law. Over $100 later, still no regrets. Might even come back again on Monday. Top Notch service!!!! read more

Growing up in the Smoky Mountains, we spent our whole lives hearing stories -- stories of life on the farm, historic icons, and most importantly, legendary figures, from wild creatures wandering the woods to the moonshiners who've brought so much attention to this area. We always knew we wanted to be legends in our own right, and we hope that's what we're able to do here at Tennessee Legend Distillery. Our spirits, shines, whiskeys, and Tennessee sipping creams are skillfully prepared, full of bold mountain flavor, and you guessed it -- they make for some great stories. They're truly the stuff of Tennessee legends, and we're proud we get to share them with you.

It's been a dream of ours to open a distillery for a long time, and in 2015, we finally made it happen. We're proud that we get to share good spirits and the mountain way of life with so many folks each day.

They have a huge selection of flavors and will even mix them for you! I loved the Lemon (very Limoncello-like), and the Cherry Cola and Orange Vanilla mixes were amazing. We chose the one where you get to try all of their available moonshines for $8 per person, so my mother and I decided to do that. The tasting itself felt very rushed and hard to keep up with. I wish they had taken a little more time to explain the flavors instead of just handing them out quickly and moving on. The employee helping us didn't seem very enthusiastic and gave off the impression that she didn't really want to be there that day. On a positive note, the inside of Ole Smoky Moonshine was very clean. They wiped down the counters after every tasting, which I appreciated. One downside for me was that you couldn't choose which flavors you wanted to sample -- they just served whatever was included in that tasting lineup. I felt that was a disadvantage because I don't want to buy something if I'm not sure I'll like it, and there were a few flavors I was hoping to try that either weren't available or just aren't carried at that location. I did enjoy the deals they had going on, which honestly caused us to buy more than we planned -- but the offers were too good to pass up. We ended up getting the cooler that came with two mini six-packs. I do wish we could've chosen the free sixth flavor ourselves, but I wasn't too upset since I did like the butter pecan. Still, it would've been nice to have more choice. When we went to check out, I still needed to pick three more flavors and asked for recommendations, but the employee didn't give much guidance and just said to get whatever I liked. I understand they were dealing with a very busy time, and she did mention that, but I wish there had been a little more enthusiasm and helpfulness overall. That said, the moonshine itself was good, and the tasting experience was enjoyable enough that I would definitely do it again. It convinced us to purchase moonshine that same day, which was a win. Overall, the experience was decent, but the staff interaction could have been much better.

We decided to do the sampling at the recommendation of the 2 staff members there. We bought the sampling option $5 per adult, 8 samplings per adult not bad, for what you get. We went to the bar area and told to go to a kiosk to get tickets. We went and got the tickets, went to the bar, and stood there for a min, didn't get helped and the sampler server got summon to help a group of about 10 people wanting to do samplings. He left the sampling area, not acknowledging us, or setting us up before leaving. He was with the group for quite some time before we gave up went to the cash register, asked for a refund, and bought our bottles and left. I fully understand being understaffed, and having to juggle, but being ignored not even acknowledged, pass.
