Arrived on a Thursday shortly before noon. There were a couple of other customers but we were greeted upon walking in and offered excellent personalized service. Very nice cocktail Menu. Small, but good food menu. Food was delivered to us at the bar in short order. It was well prepared, hot, and delicious. The smallish bar is very nice and while there is outdoor seating, we did not partake today. Perhaps on a warmer future visit. The spirit selections are all good, with something for most anyone. We planned on a quick stop here so my husband could taste some local whiskey (our young kids were with us). We ended up staying a couple of hours! To our surprise they had a little playground in the super cute backyard area. There was a delicious peach wheat beer in the beer garden (not available inside), and the live music (JR Ward) was fantastic. The flatbread pizza from Gemini Provisions was excellent, my picky kids devoured it! We didn't spend much time inside but it looked like a nice, new building. Our visit started great. The location on the river is cool and the food from the little place next door was awesome. Our server was good as were our drinks. We bought some shirts and stuff and realized we grabbed one of the wrong size and went back the next morning. Instead of simply allowing us a switch shirts he said he needed to void the entire transaction which he did not know how to do. After phone calls and a half hour the manager was helped through the process. What a hassle that unfortunately overshadowed the entire experience. read more

Traveling in the Smokey Mountains and found this distillery. It's brand new.... Little over a year old, with a nice welcoming feel with a "warm" industrial feel to the decor. Huge ceiling, and glass so you can see the distiller bins. It's early afternoon We'd and they were quite busy. Popular place for mid week !! Dominique was our "educator". What a delightful young lady. Knows the brewers story and says it well with enthusiasm !! They do have quite a selection with tables inside and out to enjoy your favorite beverage & food. We had the pleasure talking with Matt. Another pleasant person to discuss bourbon with..... and he had some amazing stories to share. They get a 4 star because we didn't eat any food... but several items on menu looked inviting. Today, was the Bourbon, finished in maple casks taste test for $20.00... four good size pours. We drove up to Townsend today in lieu of doing Black Friday and what a treat! Part of our group did a bourbon tasting and ended up finding one he loved. The others had the chocolate truffle martini (best I've ever had) and pumpkin pie martini. My oh my , both were delicious!! We left to go have lunch, got a short distance down the road, turned around and went back to have lunch and sample some more! The bartender was absolutely awesome, had great conversation, and also provided tastings to match what your taste is when it comes to whiskey. However, you do not have to have a taste for whiskey. There are plenty of other options to cover the non whiskey/bourbon drinkers. Bonus, they normally have live music Friday/Saturday. Can't wait to go back! read more

As Thompsons Station locals, we regular (and love) the original Company Distilling there. Had the opportunity to visit the Townsend location and were very impressed with the space, and their expansion into brewing beer. Very pleasant, modern feel with wood elements and views to the distilling workspace. Roomy, with inside and great outside space. Lots of hats, shirts, and related bling along with the great bourbon and beer. Already a huge fan of their bourbon, enjoyed a flight of their beers. The lager is excellent, and the one I chose for an additional glass. It has a lot more body, flavor and interest than the run of the mill lager. The Irish red ale was also excellent, and is certainly on my short list for future visits. Wife stuck with the Ghost Rail gin, her favorite, and really enjoyed the raspberry lemon tart. Jeff Arnett, the owner/master distiller, was at the Townsend location when we visited. He was busy chatting up other customers, so we didn't get a chance to say high, but perhaps on a future visit. I'm a bit biased, since Company is our personal house bourbon, but I highly recommend. read more

WOW! What a treat in Townsend! We stopped in after a hike and were very pleasantly surprised. Not only do they have whiskey, but also cocktails and beer. Great spot!!! This is a well decorated, well organize place. In the space, it has a bar and tables on one side and a gift shop and restrooms on the other. It is bright, clean, trendy, and just inviting. The logo is simple. It makes the apparel look "sophisticated", not cheap / touristy. The bar and table area has tastings, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, and food. The whiskey, several of them are 4.5 - 6 years old with a finish (ex. cherry wood or maple). They are very tasty. Great place with very friendly staff and excellent drinks. My wife and I started with the tasting, which included sampling of five different liquors. Our choice was the bourbon (one of the best I've ever had), the Ghost Rail Gin (remarkably clean with a great depth of flavor), the Oatmeal Cookie, Vanilla Bean and Coconut liquors. The final three tasted exactly as they were named with a alcohol bend. Attached to the building, through a separate door, is Amico who provides excellent catering services. We enjoyed their charcuterie tray with freshly made bread. They have a nice outdoor patio, but with temperatures in the mid 90's we only appreciated it from inside. They're also intending to develop their river edge with additional outdoor seating. They also have a retail counter within the facility where in addition to their liquors they also have a wide selection of Company gear. read more

We were in the area traveling through Caves Cove. We past the place up and I looked and seen a distillery. I said is this place opened and my kids said it closed at 1 PM. They were playing with me, so that I wouldn't stop. :) We came back and were seated at a table. A lady greeted us and asked us what we wanted. Two of us stated that we wanted to do a sample. We got the opportunity to taste 4 whiskeys for $20. We sampled in order Straight Tennessee Whiskey finished with Apple Wood at 86.5 proof. This one had aromas of cinnamon nutmeg, golden raisins. It was a nice taste and not much on the palate. I asked what makes a Tennessee whiskey mash build. She stated that it consisted with 51% corn, and other 49% mix of blend of wheat and malted barley. The second one that we sampled was the Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished with maple wood, this one was smooth, but required to take a sip of the Straight Rye Whiskey finished with cherry wood, and then go back to the Bourbon and you can taste the maple wood more clearer. Two distillers from Jack Daniels of 20 years of experience at Jack Daniels distillery recommended a change to their whiskey and was refused, they left and joined company distilling. The Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished with maple wood is the first product they helped produce. The Cask Strength was the next one that was recommended to drink in order. This one is a sipper and not something you are going to mix with a coke and or other products. It's higher in proof at 117 and has a kick to it but smooth neat and or on ice. Lastly was the Straight Rye Whiskey finished on cherry wood at 107 proof. This was a good Tennessee Rye, first one I tried in TN. This one required a sample and then back to the maple wood finish straight bourbon whiskey. The other cocktails that others in our group, including the food was very good. I was impressed this place just opened a year ago and have so much already in place. Our waitress was good and knew her thing about the products. read more

Stopped by on the way out of Cade's Cove to check it out. The staff were so friendly and helpful with whiskey flights, our daughters could run around in the back and they even helped them with the games outside. My husband loved the whiskey and rye, bought two bottles and not being a whiskey person myself, I appreciated the beer flight. They even recommended a hike for us on the way out, making it a perfect day in Townsend! We were in Townsend TN visiting the Smokies in August with scorching 100 degree weather. Had decided to take a bike ride and needed an adult beverage, so we stopped here for a drink. All the servers were very hospitable. Our server helped me select a drink that was not too strong. The man running the merchandise counter stopped for a quick and casual chat. We felt very welcomed. What a fun afternoon! Our daughter and son in law took us to a distillery in Townsend. We each got the supreme tasting. The shot glasses were so full that it took me a long time to finish. The first bourbon was 90 proof. It had more of a bite than the one which was 121 proof. The 121 was smooth. We all liked the rye best. My husband and my son in law both bought a bottle of rye. I was surprised by the ghost train gin. It had so many botanicals that it didn't taste like gin to me. My daughter who hates the juniper berries likes this gin. I, on the other hand love juniper berries. I had planned to have a ghost train gin martini after the tasting, but changed it to an old fashioned after tasting the gin. The old fashioned was good but my daughter gave me a taste of her chocolate martini. That's what Im getting next time. It's hard to believe chocolate butters can give a cocktail so much chocolate flavor. I am stocking up on chocolate bitters. That's for sure. We had a fun afternoon. read more

We stopped here after a nice drive through The Loop. I saw a segment on the local news about this place and have been wanting to try them. We did the flight of 3 whiskeys. All three were very good. Our favorite was the straight bourbon whiskey. It was smooth and had a nice maple wood finish... This would be great in an old fashion which I love to make at home! We also tried the peach flavored spirit. This would be great in the summer with bourbon and iced tea! It was smooth, had a light peach flavor to it, not sweet or too strong. The place is very warm and welcoming. The shelves are nicely displayed with product, and the service was outstanding. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. For all the Gin, Bourbon and Whiskey lovers out there, this is a must! My husband and I decided to drive to the Townsend location for lunch and to sample their spirits. Upon entering the distillery we were pleasantly surprised and awe struck by the decor. The place is beautifully appointed...A member of the staff immediately greeted us with a warm welcome. We told him it was our first visit, so he explained their offerings and pointed out areas of interests to explore (tastings, food menu, outdoor area, merchandise/gift shop etc). We placed our drink and food order. The pours were generous and the food was tasty and quite filling. I enjoyed an Amico sandwich with tomato soup and washed it down with several pomegranate martini's. Hubby ordered meatball sliders with fries, followed by several Bourbon's on ice. Overall rating of the establishment is an A++. The staff, spirits and service were truly outstanding. Before leaving, One of the owners engaged us in conversation ensuring our needs were met. Such a nice addition to Townsend. They have a seating area inside and outside around back with corn hole boards. The bar offers a selection of cocktails, but if you're unsure they have a tasting menu as well. They also offer a lot of merchandise from socks and tshirts to nice glassware and candles. Amico is a little window around the corner that offers sandwiches and appetizers that you can eat there or get to go. The pesto fries and mortadella sandwich are my favorites so far. Two sandwiches and an order of fries ran us $50 with tip. That sounds pricey but it was enough food to make two meals for my husband and I. The sandwiches are pretty big so we could each only eat a half at a time. We will probably share next time we go. read more

Wow! A legitimate distillery in the smokies. Leave your hokey moonshine at the door (all due respect to hokey moonshine which has its time and place). This place is distilling some high-quality tennessee whiskey, bourbon, and rye! Absolutely worth the short and scenic drive from touristy pigeon forge down Wear's Valley Road to peaceful Townsend where they're located. The employees were passionate about their artfully crafted whiskey and we thoroughly enjoyed tasting all 4 of their whiskey varieties, tennessee, bourbon, and rye as well as the Ace Gap flavored liquors (which are similar to your classic Smokies "moonshine"). But make no mistake they are known for their legitimately high quality whiskies and also surprisingly gin. We can't wait to go back! read more

My husband did the full whiskey tasting and I had a couple of the Ace Gap cocktails. Too hard to pick a favorite! They even accommodated my goofy request to "make up a drink" using their espresso Ace Gap and it did not disappoint! John was phenomenal explaining their history and all the products. We also got an order of the pesto fries from Amico (next door) and they easily rank among the best fries we've ever had. Bought two bottles and it wasn't an easy decision since we easily could have taken one of everything! Highly recommend Company to anyone even close to the area.
