But two of the samples are pickles and peaches. Those should just be samples, not part of the tasting. That said, the Ownby bourbon was good, I liked it a lot. I am generally against flavored whiskey but I enjoyed the espresso martini whiskey and root beer whiskey. I had sampled an ole Smokey moonshine years ago but didn't care for it. But sampling the razz n berry and the apple pie moonshines - I liked those. Walked out with too many bottles but I will definitely enjoy them over time.

Our purchase was the James Ownby Reserve, 2 Apple Pie America's 250 100 proof Moonshine, Espresso Martini Whiskey, Root Beer Whiskey, and Blue Raspberry.

Derek is the nicest guy and explained how he makes the whiskey and how the recipe has been in his family for years. How can you not like the level of that family tradition. I would recommend if you are ever in Tennessee, make it a point to stop at Bootleggers, you will not regret it.

This is the place…read moreto get the hard stuff that also tastes like an oatmeal cookie or watermelon taffy or a pumpkin roll. When you want to get drunk, but you also need your drink to look electric blue and taste like raspberry, you come here. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet drinks in general, and especially not sweet alcohol. But I wasn't about to pass up an opportunity to taste some of Old Forge Distillery's moonshine and gin. They also make vodka, whiskey and rum. The gin was good! It doesn't taste like traditional gin, because they age it in bourbon barrels, so it has a little bit of a caramel taste to it. (In my opinion.) The moonshine and the cream liqueurs are where you will find the crazy flavors. I think my favorite was the coffee moonshine, which tastes like a wonderfully spiked black coffee. Samples are plentiful. The bartender told us which ones were crowd favorites, and also recommended some that I would not have picked myself. They also have a huge gift shop with lots of tchotchkes, plus bottles of their goods to take home with you.

I'll admit I'm usually not a fan of anything "milky," but the Chocolate Beignet completely surprised me, I actually loved it! It was unique and definitely one of my favorites from the tasting. The service was great as well, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxed, and it's a great place to stop if you're in the area. I definitely recommend doing a tasting and taking a few of your favorites home with you!

I love cider and after dropping over $100 on moonshine next door the day before, I didn't want to be tempted. But sure enough, I found myself inside looking at the tasting menu. You can sample 3 ciders for free or pay $5 for 8 samples of cider and 2 cream wines. We chose to pay for the tasting to get a broader range of flavors. Our bartender was nice, efficient, and friendly. Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off and we couldn't talk anymore after that (we were discussing tattoos). When the fire alarms stopped, we went back in and made a deal with the devil. Buy 5 get 1 free. The ciders are DELICIOUS! Oh boy, I might just need to find an AA meeting with how smooth and flavorful these ciders and cream wines are. I highly recommend doing the $5 tasting because it's entirely worth it. I've never heard of a cream wine before but man oh man, do I love them, now! Drink responsibly and enjoy! Cheers!

I'd like to know what data was collected, how long you store my data and who do you share it with? ID scanners read the barcode or magnetic strip on your ID to extract and instantly verify the text-based data on your card. While policies vary heavily by business, scanners generally collect your name, date of birth, address, and ID expiration date to confirm your age or identity. Venues using security platforms (such as Patronscan) may securely log your data for a set period to prevent banned individuals from entering, track repeat visitors, or assess customer demographics. Because data handling practices are proprietary, you can generally determine an organization's protocols by reading their privacy policy or asking staff about their compliance practice. (I didn't see a policy or even know that she was scanning until it was too late) Maybe Kelly can Clarify his policy and advise how our data is used and I will gladly remove this review! Patronscan seems to be the one that "keeps your data". But I just don't drink at places that have these scanners and this is the first time my ID has been scanned and it will be the last. I would like to know how long you keep my data, what data you collect and who you are sharing it with. Also, warn people before scanning their ID!

This was the case with my lady and I here, and yes, we DID check it out. Was it worth the stop? Absolutely! We rolled in on a Sunday afternoon and they weren't too busy. Here's the list of what we had: JB Rader's 103 Sally Jane's Sin-a-shine JB Rader's Honey Crisp Apple Kelly's Moonarita Purple Jesus Cherry Bounce Kelly's Pineapple Upside Down Cake Patty's Peach Pie Killer Beaz Appalachian Ambrosia Penny's Pecan Pie Charred Moonshine Our server was VERY friendly and made the whole experience fun. We liked most of the moonshine, with an exception of the Ambrosia, and REALLY enjoyed the last two, enough to buy one of each. The prices are very fair for the quality. Aside from moonshine, they also have lots of other goodies for sale like homemade soaps, hats, shirts, and so much more. For an impromptu detour, this turned out to be a great little stop.
