They have…read morebeen in business at their location on Acadian Thruway at I-10 for more than 30 years so far. That's a serious establishment! The way they have been in business for so long? Great food, and good service! They have a varied menu, but one of their specialties is BBQ. Ribs are literally in their name, and these are of course an excellent choice. However, I like to try all kinds of their meats. I really love the smoked wings. Brisket is excellent as well. Another thing they are known for is steak, and it's excellent. Always cooked to order and to perfection. The Smoked Prime Rib and Baseball Cut Sirloin are impressive. Then there's seafood, including catfish, shrimp, and even salmon. Cajun style or simply fried, it's all amazing. To go on the side of all these amazing entrees they have a nifty selection of sides that reflect the local tastes. One of their specialties most famous is their MoJo Potatoes, which are nicely seasoned cubed fried potatoes. Then there's the local favorite, Carrot Soufflé. Don't sleep on the Red Beans & Rice either! The service is friendly and helpful. The interior decor will impress any LSU fan. There's quite a lot to recommend the establishment, and they have recently been expanding their business into takeout and even selling their sauces at local groceries.

We were there as a group in one of the back rooms. Let me say it felt private and comfortable!…read more Just the right size! First time we had been there and we will go back! The parking lot has adequate spaces. The restaurant looks like it has enough seating for a good bit of customers. We had a party of approximately 15. We ordered several appetizers and entrees. The appetizers came out fairly quick. I didn't take a picture of it but we ordered the boudin egg-rolls. EXCUSE ME?? WHAT? YES!!! That good! Get them! I would've gotten them as a meal with a salad had I known! So good! I was intrigued by the muffuletta pizza so I ordered it on the cauliflower crust. Pretty good! Several people ordered the ribeye and said it was good. Nice size and it comes with a salad and another side. That is still a good deal in my opinion! Our server was really attentive. Sometimes when a restaurant is busy and the server has to wait other tables the people in the private rooms get forgotten. Not this time! They were great! We will go back if we are back in the area! Cheers!

I ordered the half & half seafood platter with catfish & fried shrimp, along with their onion strings. I requested everything fried hard, & they delivered! The seafood was fresh, hot, & fried to perfection. The catfish had absolutely no fishy taste. You could tell everything was fresh. My platter also came with a house salad, & I had a sweet tea to go with it. The hush puppies deserve a special mention, too! They have a slightly sweet flavor that makes them so good. My daughter ordered the mozzarella logs, and let me tell you, these aren't little mozzarella sticks! They're BIG, golden, cheesy logs served with homemade marinara sauce made from scratch. Definitely worth mentioning! My husband enjoyed a shrimp po-boy with onion strings on the side. Our waitress was attentive, the service was great, and we didn't have to wait forever for our food to come out. Everything was served in a timely manner, hot and delicious. The ambiance was mellow. This olCe has indoor & outdoor seating. There's a bar as well. Perfect for date night, to watch a game or just because. Overall, we had a wonderful dinner at Galvez Seafood. Fresh seafood, generous portions, good service, and food cooked just right. We'll definitely be back!

This is a historic building that was once a bank, and it retains its historic murals as well as other features. It's definitely a place to take someone visiting or whom you would like to impress! The menu likewise is impressive, it's created by serious chefs. It includes everything from a simple burger to some fine steaks. I tend to go for the appetizers and small plates. However, they also have some quality seafood as well as Cajun specialties (including a good gumbo). There are regular specials, and the "Soup of the Moment" is also worth trying. They have particularly good charcuterie boards! The service is also great, the staff are dressed all in black, and there are white tablecloths. It's a near fine dine, but not as stuffy as one might expect. Definitely a place worth trying in Downtown Baton Rouge!

We got the appetizer sampler, and the biscuits on there......with the butter dipping sauce, delicious! We went with a friend and he ordered the club sandwich and it was very tasty. I got a Buffalo Chicken Salad (not pictured) and their buffalo sauce is AMAZING! I forgot to even take a picture! My hubby ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich, they messed up his order and added mayo when he asked for no mayo, and they took it back and fixed it. HOWEVER all the did was give him a new bun. There was still mayo on the bacon and on the chicken. Which really sucked because he's a sauce hater, he was able to eat the chicken because he wiped it off. He couldn't eat the bacon, so he gave it to me. The server was super nice about everything and apologized, but we saw the kitchen staff when she told them and they were a little unprofessional. You could tell it was a big deal, and they were very bothered to have to fix this. So we didn't love that, but overall it was a great experience!

My order was not prepared correctly. I ordered salmon with double steamed broccoli and asked to add…read morecheese. When my plate arrived, it had extra parmesan, which I did not request. I wasn't asked what kind of cheese I wanted, and I assumed it would be the usual shredded cheese that other locations have used when I made this same request. When I pointed out the mistake, I was told the broccoli couldn't be taken back to the kitchen since it had already touched the table, and that cheese would just be brought for me to stir in. While I waited, my salmon sat getting cold. By the time the cheese arrived, the broccoli was already too cold for it to melt or stir in properly. It took another 15 minutes to bring out fresh broccoli with the cheese melted in. At that point, my salmon was completely cold, and I obviously didn't want to eat it alone while waiting for the rest of my food. The manager eventually brought out the corrected broccoli. I was visibly upset, and when she asked if I wanted boxes, I said yes, because my food was now too cold to enjoy. She simply said "OK" and walked away.

Yum!! The puffy taco was good, but not what we normally expect with a "puffy" taco - this was really just a great big taco with a lot of sauce covering the outside. But it was good. The disappointment today was the guacamole - a bit watery and topped with pico de gallo that tasted like strong white onions. But that fajitas al pastor I came for..:you need to try that.
