However, twice in two weeks I've come to the JosA Banks in Annapolis to spend some money, needing to replace some dress shirts and have a suit or two done. The first time I was in the store for 45 min and not once did anyone ask to assist. So I split buying a suit elsewhere with excellent customer service. Today I made an appointment for custom tailoring. Arrived early and was perusing the fabrics on the custom wall, with two employees 3'-4' away and zero interest in me as a customer. Make a long story short, no one seemed to be too excited to take my measurements or my order after I announced I was there for an appointment. So I walked out. No use in wasting any more of my time if my appointment is important. It's sad because it used to be when you walked into a JosA Banks the staff was on you with a great demeanor the second you walked in. With 6-7 people on staff, one would expect better.

They have two stores in downtown Annapolis and this review is for the business at 176 Main Street that sells preppy clothing with a touch of nautical. Brands like Gretchen Scott, Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines are sold here and I appreciate having a local option for nicer clothes, especially after Nordstrom went out of business in 2020. The store is always well organized and I do find the pretty displays beckoning me to come in and have a look. In addition to clothing they have accessories - scarves, purses, fashion jewelry, etc. My style isn't generally as preppy as The Lucky Knot but I have gotten a few fun plaid pieces here for the holidays. They key is to take the time to try it on and make sure you love it because the return policy is exchanges only.

There stuff is handmade and it LASTS!!! The customer service on my custom items was amazing and I got them so fast. Rather than getting my son luggage as a grad gift I got him the duffle bags because then he can roll them up and stick them under his bed instead of having to take them back home with me or find storage for them. I don't know what sort of service other customers got but I have always had a great experience, both with the items I purchased in the store and with the ones I special ordered online.
