BLUF: Preppy, higher-end nautical inspired clothing for women. The Lucky Knot is a local retailer with a handful of stores in Annapolis, Alexandria and perhaps a few other locations. They have two stores in downtown Annapolis and this review is for the business at 176 Main Street that sells preppy clothing with a touch of nautical. Brands like Gretchen Scott, Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines are sold here and I appreciate having a local option for nicer clothes, especially after Nordstrom went out of business in 2020. The store is always well organized and I do find the pretty displays beckoning me to come in and have a look. In addition to clothing they have accessories - scarves, purses, fashion jewelry, etc. My style isn't generally as preppy as The Lucky Knot but I have gotten a few fun plaid pieces here for the holidays. They key is to take the time to try it on and make sure you love it because the return policy is exchanges only. read more

I stopped by this boutique shop when I was in Annapolis recently. I'm heading to Connecticut for the Fourth of July, and as I was walking by The Lucky Knot's windows, I thought: "Yes. They have everything I need for that trip." The boutique sells dresses, tops, bags, jewelry, etc. - everything is nautical and summery and beachy. It's very Annapolis and perfect for summer days and summer trips. Maybe their style isn't for everyone. But if you need clothes and accessories for summer - check it out. Upon walking into the store, my mother and I were not greeted, and were followed by the store employee instead. The employee followed us across the store and stared at us and everything we looked at. If we touched an item, she would run over there and fix it as though we completely dismantled it. Apparently, we weren't the "type" to shop there. Great way to turn away business! read more

Great selection of casual clothes. Staff was attentive. Store was clean, organized, and had a lot of sizes available.

Think J. Crew, Vineyard Vines, Banana Republic, and Lacoste all rolled up into one, and you'll have a great idea of what this boutique store is all about. Their Annapolis location may have you thinking you just stepped into Martha's Vineyard, but the store is a blast to walk through, and their helpful staff are the icing on the cake. They've got more selection for women than men, but The Lucky Knot is definitely worth a stop if you're cruising Main Street. read more

Buyer beware shopping here. Their return policy is exchange only. Period. And if you do have a problem with a purchase, they are not nice or friendly about it. ZERO customer service or even care if you are satisfied. Snotty, like you aren't worthy of shopping there. In this market of struggling small businesses, give someone else your money...a store that will appreciate it and value you as a customer. I've shopped here many times, and this isn't my first bad experience. Do yourself a favor, shop elsewhere. read more

I stopped into this store because I was attracted to items I had seen in the window; on Sunday October 2nd around 3:30 in the afternoon. There were two women at the counter on their phones and also discussing personal issues. I was in the store at least 10-15 minutes. I was not acknowledged or asked if I needed help. There were several items I was interested in and would have spent close to $1000.00 however after not receiving help I walked out. I proceeded up the street to Lilac Bijoux. There was only one person working, very adorable and attentive. She immediately asked if she could help me. Needless to say I walked out after purchasing over $700.00 worth of clothing. Shame on you Lucky Knot; horrible service and you lost a huge purchase. If you were one of the owners working that day; double shame on you. If you were not one of the owners you need to have a discussion with your employees or be more involved in what is taking place in your store. read more

I'D HAPPILY CHANGE THIS POST IF THE LUCKY KNOT WAS WILLING TO ACCEPT MY RETURN (BOUGHT 18 DAYS AGO, TAGS ON, UNWORN, STILL IN THE BAG) I was told explicitly by the sales girl (who, admittedly, I believe was new) that I could return items for a refund within 30 days. So I bought two items, which are not cheap and not on sale in any way, and went home to try them on for a second opinion. I'm distracted by an illness in the family for a week or two and I later look at the receipt and it says it is 14 days and no refunds at all! What kind of operation is this? While I believe the sales girl was new, it was such a standard practice of return I didn't think I needed to ask another associate to be sure. What place doesn't take refunds on unused, tags-on items anymore, anyway? I hate posting bad reviews, and even more when I actually think the product is great. But for the price of the dresses here, they could afford to adopt a return policy that is inline with other stores of similar caliber. read more

Great store. Really nice folks that work behind the counter and always offering to help. My husband and I both like to go in for vineyard vines or Barbour. They have fun statement earrings/jewelry for a Saturday night cocktail party as well. They kind of randomly have some weird vintage Republican memorabilia... which is strange but other than that I really like their buyer's taste. Fits in perfectly with Annapolis. read more

I went there with my father on Father's Day and he really wanted this shirt they had but it had a stain/something on it. He nicely asked the lady working if they had more in the back because of the stain and she said no but you can look at the sale section... Like she assumed he didn't have money and assumed that he told her about the stain to get the shirt for less money... Very rude and incosiderate, bought several things from here before but never again. read more

This store is a rip off. Please do your research on brands before spending more money than you need to. Being new to colder weather , I went into looking for gloves and a knit hat. I found what I was looking for , it was cute and warm and I figured what I paid was the going price for such items. I paid 24 dollars for a pair of gloves and the exact pair can be found on amazon for $ 9. Not even the actual brand sells this product as high. Be wary of overpricing! read more
