The Old Mill brew pub was one of the funnest and coolest of the places I have been to in a long time. It's located in an Old Grist Mill it has other shops in it as well. The bar area and seating area at the bar is very nice and quaint. Around the corner is the main dining area which has plenty of room but tables and booths. The beer menu is Awesome with a variety of draft beers and bottled beers. It does have a full bar for those of you who like other things other than beer. The food was delicious as well. I had she crab soup as an appetizer and it was out of this world. The owner, John Klinger, is my old buddy from Pennsylvania. Old Mill is my #1 place to eat in Lexington. I've eaten here several times since moving to Lexington and have had an overall positive experience every time I visit. If you want to great unique burger options, this is your place. If you want a plethora of beer options (especially local beers) this is your place. They have an awesome outdoor patio area where you can dine and I absolutely love that. Service has always been top notch. You pretty much get everything here, they even have a bar area with TV's that feels separate from the rest of the dining areas if that is your kind of scene. I only have a few complaints or suggestions rather (nothing that would take away a star) 1. Sometimes feels understaffed-but I rarely have had trouble being seated in a reasonable time. 2. Some menu items are definitely hit or miss. I've experimented with most and I would stick with the burgers as a go-to if you can't decide. ( I was really upset when they removed the Wa-keen burger, which was my favorite) 3. Wing sauce flavors seem to be inconsistent (Or at least the teriyaki which was my favorite until it changed) Other than that, Old Mill will always be my go to place to eat lunch or dinner in Lexington or maybe even the greater West Columbia area. read more

This restaurant is hit or miss. We have eaten here 3/4X in last 6M. The first time the burgers were awesome. The last time, the food was alright but service was so SLOW. They posted a sign by the hostess stand that they they were understaffed. And it looked to be the case. The wait was horrendous and the restaurant looked 3/4 empty. On the other occasions the wait for a table and on food was usually long. Their specials menu is generally inventive, but I have been disappointed when I try a few of these. We keep coming back bc it's the nearest brewpub and they have a dining patio where our dog can be with us. read more

Really nice patio and view. Great family place server was very friendly. Wife and I had burgers which were overcooked per what we ordered. The menu said they were supposed to be spicy but in reality they were not spicy at all. I asked if the jalapeños were fresh or picked and waiter said fresh, but they they were pickled. I would have given a little higher rating but the time to get and pay my check took longer than the whole time to get and eat our food. Old Mill Brewpub was a nice experience. The old mill was a great setting. We sat on the deck in the back. Food: I had the Old Mill Burger (bacon, fried green tomatoes, and pepper gravy). Outstanding! Good fries as well. My wife had the grilled chicken panini. Also good. The sweet potato fries are coated in cinnamon and sugar. Wow! There's a kids meal, too. Beer: I had two flights ($8 for five 4oz glasses). Only one of the Old Mill brews was subpar. The others were solid beers. Service: I was in a party of eight (four adults, four kids 1-7 y/o). Amanda was our server. She helped us get highchairs. She was attentive. Food and drinks came quickly. I noticed all of the staff had the same demeanor. Note: A previous reviewer deducted stars because the lake was drained, hurting the ambiance. The review seems to suggest the lake was drained on purpose. Please know that the dam burst during the deadly and damaging flooding in SC during October 2015. This is noted in the menu. While the lake may be nice, I completely understand it not being there at present. read more

Love this place! We have been showing our house to sell and needed a restaurant where we could bring our dogs. They have outside seating (with fans.). MUST GO if you are anywhere within driving range of Lexington, SC! Was recommend to us by a guy from the area as a good place to get a beer and have a bite to eat. Had a few local and beers after telling the bar tender (Doug) what what I was in the mood and her choose perfectly! Very wide selection of seasonal, local, and other microbrews on tap...and hopefully soon they will have their own (end of Dec I heard). TV's with different sports on around the bar area. UPDATE: Went in for a few beers and food on Halloween night and most employees got into the holiday. I ate the Old Mill Burger (8oz burger, Pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, applewood smoked bacon and pepper gravy) and noticed right away they aren't using regular salt on their fries but Kosher instead! My co-worker ended up with a "The Missle Crisis" (aka Cuban) and it looked and smelled so dang good I had stop eating fries, have another beer and snag one myself... Wish I lived here so I could enjoy this food every time I wanted it! Read some earlier reviews that suggested service issues might be expected, but they appeared shortly after the place had just opened. We experienced no such issues on our recent visit. Service was fine on our visit, and our waiter seemed to know his craft beer (which my wife enjoys). She wanted to try a sampler which he patiently helped her make her selections. We decided to order the crab dip on soft baked pretzel appetizer. Either of these would have been good stand-alone, but they just didn't work together for us. Your mileage may vary. We did try a burger and fries. Excellent choice. The burger was cooked to order, good flavor with plenty of topping choices. Nice soft brioche bun. I hope the readers (and the owner) don't take this the wrong way, but the fries reminded me of, and were as good as, those at Five Guys. I mean that as a compliment. Five Guys makes damn good fries, and so does this place. Planning to return. Prime rib sandwich looked interesting and the waiter spoke highly of it. read more

The service was awesome, but the product left much to be desired. My wife and I ordered a couple of draft beers that came out room temp. We were quickly offered cold bottles of beer as replacements. The special today was a pastrami and collard greens sandwich on sourdough. The center stems of the collard greens were not removed, they were under cooked, and the bread was rye. My husband enjoyed the homemade beer choices. The shop was both clean and tidy, having plenty seating. The hostess/ waitress was attentive at all times. Staff members there greeted us in/ out when we left. The food was more than filling, loved all the dishes thus far. We will certainly be returning soon and would recommend this facility. My husband and I loved this place, also a plus was the live band! Now on the down side we had to wait to be seated, Service was slow- once we got seated we did see plenty seating available, now sure what the issue was. On a beautiful day this is a great place to sit outside and enjoy the Carolina Sunshine. The staff is very friendly and always looking to see if they can help. Finally got to try this place after going twice but they had a 45 minute wait. I had the prime rib sammich aka the Elvis Pressley. Added au jus to make it just right and dove in. The dessert menu was to die for. I wanted it allllllll. Settled on the blueberry tart which was perfect. I don't drink so have no comment about the brews, but I love that they have live music. There have been other restaurants in this location before but I think this will last--it's affordable, fun, and the waitstaff was amazing. My friend loves a burger and theirs was hand patted and huge. We really enjoyed our meal and plan to go back with a group and sit on the deck that looks out over the mill pond. It's a little dim inside but sit near the window to combat that. And if you're in a rush, sit at the bar or do like we did and go on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Was in the area and hungry when I saw the sign for this restaurant. We pulled in the parking lot but initially couldn't find the restaurant which is at the back of the lot. When you walk in you are surprised at how nice it is both inside and out on the deck which is where we decided to eat. We ordered southwest egg rolls and calamari as appetizers, and I got one of the house brewed beers. The beer was good, unfortunately the appetizers weren't so great. The egg rolls were ok but came with a funky tasting mustard sauce. The calamari came out with soggy breading. For the main course My wife and I ordered the Old Mill Burger which was really good. My daughter got fish and shrimp. She said she liked the shrimp but not the fish. Overall, the restaurant is really a nice place as far as layout and atmosphere. The food was hit and miss with some really good, some not that great. I would have given three stars but bumped them up a half star for making their own beer. 3 1/2 stars. read more

We took a chance and went back after a terrible experience. A friend was learning where I work and this was her choice. The beer selection was excellent (as it was before). I got something called "beer paddle" so I could try several different kinds of beer. Some I loved, two I did not but that's totally a personal taste. We all got burgers and they were done extremely well. In fact, I couldn't finish mine and had to take part of it home. Our service was okay. The restaurant was busy and she was stretched out so I understood that. If you have never been to the Old Mill, it's in an old cotton mill. Side note, I have worked in one in the upstate when I was in college. A shame that these old places are mostly gone now. I will say that this last eating experience redeemed them for me. This place is just the ticket if you're looking for well executed bar food! Been here several times and never had to wait for a table, it's huge with ample seating. We always enjoy the ever-changing beer menu as we always adventure to try something new! The fried shrimp basket was disappointing because they use tiny baby shrimp, but the fries were crispy! Their burgers are all great, can't complain about them! They always come out melting hot with perfectly cooked fries, nom! We love when it's nice out and we can sit outside and enjoy the weather, or listen to live music! Service could be considered slow, but it's actually meant to be relaxing. If you're in s hurry, just say something and they'll get you in and out. Stopped in to give this place a try and was glad we did! Food was excellent! Service was great. Was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio. Love that this place is dog friendly. The wait staff even brings bowls and a water bottle to keep your fur baby hydrated! We had the jalapeño bacon beer cheese pretzel dip and that was AMAZING!! The pretzels were soft and not - great by themselves but even better with the dip. It had the right amount of heat and wasn't overwhelming. So delish!! The hubs had the Old Mill Burger - we were hesitant on this because it came with pepper gravy on top so we got that on the side. But trust me-the pepper gravy made it! It was so good! I got the Brimstone burger - a little scared because of the ghost pepper cheese and all the jalapeños, but it wasn't unbearably hot! It had such a good flavor! We will definitely be back!! Wish I could give 0 stars! Do not waste your time or money!!! Go to O'Haras instead!!! Wanted a nice Sunday dinner out with my family. Thought we might give this Pub a try. This was a horrible meal and horrible experience. Upon our arrival the place was pretty empty. Our server greeted us and took our drink order followed by our food order. We ordered wings, 1/2 chicken, shrimp basket and whole hog nachos. Let's start with the wings, bone dry and tasted microwaved. The 1/2 chicken was ok our sides were all messed up. The shrimp was frozen pre breaded shrimp, you get a tiny little amount for $10. Not worth it. Lastly whole hog nachos... thought these sounded good until they showed up and we found out their not nachos. It's a pile of pig skins with a smattering of pulled pork and cheese. The menu totally falsely calls these nachos. These were horrible and not worth the money. And of course the service. Well we found out our server had to jump in the kitchen to help it get back on its feet. Unfortunately no other servers really tried to help her section. The manager was a jerk. I tried to speak to him and discuss our experience and he kept saying that they got a lot of parties that did not have reservations so that's what was wrong... he never offered to help at all. Even after I explained our situation. He basically ignored me!!! Our waitress gave us her discount and desert to try and help us feel better about our meal. Bottom line never again... I'd rather eat at O'Haras down the street, way better food and experience!!!! read more
