Applebee's is basically a casual restaurant to go and have a drink and a burger. You don't have to worry about parking, there was plenty of spaces when we went on a Sunday night. The menu was diversified and prices were average. Our waitress Paisley was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean. They had plenty of seating and my favorite was a booth. The salmon I ordered was dry but edible. One of my guests had the celantro lime chicken and it was very good. On the whole it was an average dining experience. read more

I have nothing good to say about this experience. Management has absolutely failed to provide any form of service or communication. It took a total of 2 hours to receive food! Our poor server received no help as a new hire with a large group absolutely ridiculous !!! considering our stay was TWO HOURS AND THIRTY MINUTES and did not receive food until the last ten minutes the managers solution was unacceptable. So me and my family went out for my 18th birthday and my nephews birthday at applebee's Grill+Bar in Columbia,SC and to start it all off the service was one of the worse or might be the worst I've ever had in my life. It took him 20 minutes to get us drinks and a total of 30 minutes to take everyone's order. Now I know some may be busy but I also work in a bar/grill spot and doing this doesn't take that long. We arrived around 8:50pm on April 25th,2026 and we didn't receive our food until 10:30 , the management team did nothing to help neither did our server and we barely seen him. He told us numerous times that our food was gonna be out shortly and it wasn't also the tabs were serverly messed up and had the wrong items. We were tired and hungry after driving all day. Staying at a nearby hotel on our way to a vacation we saw Applebees was walking distance and we figured it would be easy and convenient. On a Friday evening during happy hour the place was empty. Clue number 1. We were seated right away by a friendly server and our drink order was taken immediately. The drinks came out one at a time. Clue number 2. We ordered a side salad with our steak and broccoli. What was served was served was total garbage. Dried steak, and mushy broccoli. I'd bet they were cooked in a microwave. The worst part was out bill was $80.00, two kids and two adults. I don't have a clue how this place keeps the lights on . I think we have wrote off Applebees forever. read more

This appears to be an older restaurant. The men's room needs updating and had an odd smell. Not very busy on a Tuesday evening during computer time. Ordered a regular size Stella Atoirs and received a large. Waitress made the error. Someone doesn't know how to pour beer. The Stella had a 3 inch head of foam. The table we sat at had an annoying wiggle because it wasn't level. The service was adequate. Nothing exceptional. I had the chicken skillet dinner and my spouse had a chicken sandwich. read more

My homegirls and I went to try out the $1 Margarita special they have going on right now. The margaritas were really good! Not to strong & not to sweet. The food was a little different. My Mac and cheese was watery. The chicken strips on top were good. (6/10) My friends said their food was pretty good. The chicken & shrimp was 8/10 and the burger was (7/10). The cheese bites, spinach dip & boneless wing appetizers were all pretty good! (8/10). The restaurant was a little busier than normal so I think they were short staffed. Our waitress was super busy so forget our stuff a few times. Sweeping needed to be done but like I said, busy Friday night, they were doing their best. 2 stars for the blondie!! We were just returning home from charlotte to pick up our daughter for winter break and needed to grab a late dinner so we decided to stop here since it's on the way home, still open and had decent food. There were only a few tables seated and a couple people at the bar so we thought it would be a great meal since they weren't busy. We sat in a booth where the seat was sunken in, service was not great but could've been over worked and overwhelmed. Some feedback for the night manager and employees, if you are super short staffed let your guests know so they can decide to stay or not. We could've went to Wendy's and gotten hot food but we wanted to sit and eat together. So of course food came out cold and dry i mentioned it to the server and he wanted to take it back but for what just for it to take another 30 min and to come back out cold or for yall to throw it the microwave... the best part and the ONLY item that came out HOT was the Blondie!!! The service was horrible. This is including staff and the manager! When it took 15 mins for them to even acknowledge us waiting for a seat should have been a red flag for us. The waitress and hostess walked around with just a blank stare. No one said hello or welcome... nothing. It was barely anyone there for them to have been so slow. Sunday night service is always bad. Servers don't seem to want to be there. I have walked out several Sundays due to poor service. Go to asian resturant around the corner and their service is what you would expect. They are courteous and prompt. Guess I should have learned my lesson. read more

My sister and I came for the 2 for $25, after a great Sunday service. The restaurant was quite busy and staff was pretty short but we had patience. Our server was pleasant even though she was hustling hard. Well, our food came and the Ribs, Garlic Potato and broccoli with cheese were great,even the salad was good even though I had to ask for more because it was a serving size for a child. But the Silverware was QUESTIONABLE! Well wrapped but not clean. I asked the first available server to please get us more silverware and a HOT cup a water which he did after apologizing for the mishap. He personally delivered the silverware which I placed inside the Hot water for extra sterilization. Overall, the experience was good. Our server LaTanya, again was awesome. read more

First time back at Applebee's in Harbison in a very long time. Incredibly short of staff, or either they are all taking breaks at the time. There were only approximately 7 tables and myself and 1 other guest had to wait to be seated for approximately 15 minutes while 3-4 people ran around and told us "she will be right with you". We never found out who "she" was and they were very rude. I have Celiac Disease and must eat gluten free. Items are marked as "gluten sensitive" I understand this when I go to a restaurant. However, if you fry French fries in the same oil as you do beer battered and other items containing GLUTEN, it is no longer GLUTEN SENSITIVE. You've contaminated the hell out of it. You have now gaslighted a customer who may have a gluten sensitivity or allergy or Celiac, like me in to believing something maybe safe. WRONG. I'm glad I asked. DO NOT HAVE YOUR STAFF TELLING PEOPLE THE FRIES ARE GLUTEN FREE UNLES THEY ARE WILLING TO EAT THEM RAW. That's lying to customers and false advertising. I also asked that the grill be cleaned prior to them cooking my bourbon street chicken and shrimp with mushrooms. It comes with two sides. The only thing I could eat due to other allergies was a Caesar Salad with no croutons. I got charged an additional $1.99 on top of the $14.99 for the chicken breast and 5 small shrimp (which included two sides, I never got). Additionally the chicken and shrimp were cold by the time I got to eat because it took the staff of about 5 people to find a knife so I could cut the chicken. When I arrived there was a long list of parties waiting...the person helping us had a wet towel on his shoulder and had no clue how to handle us. For 30 minutes we waited....only 2 parties were seated although about 15 open tables were available around the perimeter. We came here for the 2 for $20 menu. However the service was slightly lacking. Our waitress acted as if we were an inconvenience to her (cold and unfriendly). Food was delicious and came out relatively quickly. I love the spinach dip. Salsa on the side was a pleasant surprise and tasty. Chicken Penne Pasta is delightful. I'm usually not one to leave reviews but I just wanted to share both the experiences me and my boyfriend have had here. I only give a five star rating because we went here Saturday night and our waitress Tracy was absolutely amazing and the food was really good! It was busy that night but I saw her always checking up on her customers and she always checked up on us as well. She just has amazing customer service skills. But we came back yesterday evening around 5 to have dinner with my boyfriends boss and it wasn't that busy but someone came to ask for our drinks and after that no one came up to us ://// we only saw one waiter doing his job and he was serving the table behind us and another waitress but it looked there was nobody else other than the manager who was on her phone doing nothing. so after about 20 minutes we left and went somewhere else. The atmosphere was very nice and quite. We chose right after lunch so it was nice and slow. I chose the onion soup with a lovely coating of cheese and a half chicken wrap which was a perfect size portion. The server was very nice and efficient. The bathrooms were very clean. The restaurant was very clean and well organized. If you are going to lunch and can wait until1pm it's certainly worth the wait. This Harbison location if convenient and right by the interstate. I see a lot of bad reviews on this restaurant but I had a good experience. Waiter was great and knew a lot of good food recommendations. He was very nice and professional. We never ran out of drink. The meal took a good long while to get out BUT They were short staffed which is NOT their fault....you just can't get people to work anymore. I did notice this group of people trying their best to get FREE food, complaining about EVERYTHING. They were giving the waiter and manager a hard time. The food was horrible, my chicken Alfredo was over cooked and undercooked how is that possible I don't know. If I could give negative stars I would. Waitresses are young not well mannered. Went in with my family and my 4 month old son was harassed by a 21 year old waitress. She felt so comfortable to sit down at the booth with us. Did not practice social distancing. I had to basically tell her to please leave us alone to have family time. She Talked to much didn't bring us our drinks I had to remind her. Didn't bring us utensils I had to ask the manager. She didn't wear a mask. Had to wipe down our own table. By far the worst Applebee's I have ever experienced. Me and wife went in and was seated right of way, thinking good, not crowded. After 15 min, I waved manager down to get drinks ordered. She took drink and food order. Finally server showed up after another 15min but still no drinks. It took 40 min to get drinks. Then food came out and it was wrong. Ordered Steak and got chicken. As business owners in this community I felt the need to voice my disappointment and disgust in the treatment we experienced by your" hostess" ( older black woman with glasses and headband wig)... She had a terrible attitude her outfit was dirty and her attitude matched ..we walked in ,no line,Nobody else waiting,Available tables all around and yet she quickly informed us there was a 10 minute wait we promptly sat down and waited watched her do nothing ,watched no tables being wiped down but watched a another party walk in and get seated instantly ( with more ppl in their party)when my husband stated to her that we have been waiting for 10 minutes and why did they get seated first her reply with a nasty attitude was "I'm sorry I forgot y'all was waiting".. we were seated right in front of her face with nobody else waiting there was no possibility of her forgetting we were waiting for a table she did this out of pure pettiness for whatever reason she had an issue we are an interracial couple so maybe she had a personal problem with that but she shouldn't be dealing with customers if she can't handle multicultural differences in the community.And Applebee's franchise should never have a two star rating and now I am very aware of why that is. Our server tonight was absolutely ridiculous! Not sure her name because she never introduced us but she was fair skinned with red hair. Non attentive! Took 7 minutes to get drinks with only 2 other tables in the section. Never gave us silverware so after 22 minutes waiting for our side salad when we did get the side salad we had no forks. Which she had disappeared and someone else had to bring out. She walked passed us multiple times with no check in. Thank god there was a gentlemen that assisted us. I've never been out to eat with such poor service. My food didn't come out correct( my side was incorrect and my steak well done) I was very dissatisfied. I'm not one too complain and I always over tip (knowing what it's like to be a server) so this isn't a mild thing that I just happen not to enjoy. I'm not sure if she was knew or just didn't cared. Hello! Visited this restaurant this afternoon for brunch for 3 other nurses traveling for work from Charleston, SC. Needless to say? We will never be back to this location. The manager on duty, Alyssa or Alicia was extremely rude. I've never seen a more unprofessional person, one who argues back and forth with customers. I'm an assnt. director of nursing who's also been in management to many restaurant franchises and I purposely wanted to see how far she would take our conversation. She wouldn't "shut up" for lack of better words. Customer service definitely isn't her thing. Hopefully one day though, she finds something that is. No need to elaborate on the situation, I will wait to speak with the general manager or someone from corporate to further explain! Thank you Columbia Applebee's for showing me how management absolutely should NOT be! I will use Alyssa/Alicia's horrible mannerisms as examples to further educate my employees! read more
