Three Notch'd was a pretty fun brewery, and even though I went late at night, the staff was still very friendly and provided great service. They also had this awesome sour beer that I had never had before, and it quickly became one of my favorite beers that I've ever had. The bartender also took quite a bit of time to provide me and my friend with samples, explained to my friend the difference between the beers she liked, and told her what to ask for in the future. I also loved the brewing equipment on display in the restaurant, and thought that the brewery did a great job of making them look sleek, modern, and eye-catching. My only complaint is that the back of the restaurant still has the name of the old brewery on it, making it look kind of awkward with two (2) different names on the building. Despite this, I still really like Three Notch'd, and will be back in the future! read more

We're visiting Columbia SC for 1 night. We did not want to travel too far from Hotel to eat, so we stopped in at Three Notch. There was a decent crowd, but not overly busy. We ordered 1). Fish and Chips; 2). Chicken Nuggets and Fries; 3). Chicken Flatbread; 4). Wings and sliders. Desert: Donut Holes. Needless to say NOTHING ORDERED was worth eating- ALL OF THE MEALS were nasty. Our waiter was great, but that food went to garbage. Our bill was $120 or so and we only had Tea, sprite, water, two beers. Overpriced and horrible food! I will never go back. Update: After posting my review, the VP responded with an apology and asked me to contact him directly. I did, and I am very appreciative of how seriously my concerns were taken. The VP personally followed up with me. He took the time to listen to what happened and made a genuine effort to make things right. While our original experience remains disappointing, I also believe in giving credit when a business takes responsibility and responds appropriately. I was impressed with the personal attention and the effort made to resolve the situation. I would be willing to give the restaurant another opportunity in the future and hope that our next visit reflects the level of experience they strive to provide. Thank you VP of Operations. What a disappointment! Decided to go for dinner early on a Sunday evening. The place was not busy at all. Bar was empty as was the patio. There were 4 tables seated and a table came in right ahead of us. We were seated and waited and waited. The bar tender took the other table that came in when we did. The server assigned to us was slow at best. She had three tables eating entrees and one that was waiting for food. It took far too long for her to appear and she was less than enthusiastic about her work. She was enthusiastic about visiting with other tables and chatting. We asked a few questions and she simply either nodded or said no. Never asked if we were there before or had questions. We ordered drinks and apps and she went to put those in. Despite no one at the bar our drinks took an extremely long time. So long that our appetizers arrived before our drinks. Our server returned and dropped off water leaving saying our drinks would be ready soon. We had already finished our appetizer at the time she dropped water. She finally appeared with drinks and asked if we wanted to order. Note we only ordered beer so the delay is even worse. Have to assume she never rang them in. We ordered food and waited. Finally the meals arrived and we asked for condiments that we had requested at order - ranch dressing. Never brought it and never checked on us or anyone. The other server ran her food. The bartender however was giving somewhat better service to the one table he had but it was noted they had empty drink glasses for long periods. The bar tender was simply standing behind the bar. Didn't look thrilled to be working either. The food wasn't hot but warm and while it was good it wasn't on par for the prices. My burger was cooked close to temperature ordered. I didn't get the toppings as stated on the menu for the burger but as the server never checked I couldn't really wait as we were hungry and food was barely warm already. The place is very similar as it was when it was iron hill. Menu is similar but not as vast. The menu isn't anything special and service is about the same -less than welcoming or timely. Overall it was disappointing at best. This place has such a great opportunity to be great but they just can't seem to get it together. After finishing food we were asked if we were ready for the check. We said yes paid and left once our server brought the check. Again she was taking to other tables sitting with them and simply seeming unconcerned about us and most of her tables. We mentioned among ourselves about the table waiting for food how long they sat waiting for their check as we heard them ask for it. Seems we weren't the only less than pleased patrons. From the moment we walked in, the customer service alone set the tone, and it just kept getting better and better. Three Notch'd Brewery is a great replacement in the old brewery spot and much needed to visit...let me tell you!!!! Shoutout to Ryan (manager), Executive Sous Chef Damion, and our waitress Tee BABY... unmatched doesn't even begin to cover it! They were attentive, welcoming, and made sure EVERYTHING was perfect from start to finish. Damion came out and told me about my food and the new things, Tee constantly checked in and Ryan I had to shake his hand to tell him we would definitely be back. You can tell they truly care about the guest experience Now let's get into this FOOD look at the pictures but they didn't do it justice!!!!....for a gastric foodie with a tiny tummy I was super full.... Pretzel bites = warm, soft, and perfectly salted with those dipping sauces... ADDICTIVE! Fried green tomatoes = crispy on the outside, tender inside, and that drizzle on top took it OVER the top ‍ Steak frites = cooked perfectly, juicy, and paired with those crispy fries... absolute perfection Black & bleu steak salad = fresh, flavorful, and loaded with toppings--light but still satisfying That fruity, refreshing cocktail is a Strawberry Lemon Drop in the mason jar...mom said it light, crisp, and perfect with the meal. Well Three Notch'd Brewing not only has a great craft beer selection but amazing food, and loads of fries. I really enjoyed the Guac Gobbler because I love a turkey and guacamole combination. I stopped by Three Notch'd Brewing on a weeknight and was honestly surprised by how quiet it was. It was pretty empty, but this made for a really relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. We ended up sitting at the bar and the service was great! The staff members were all welcoming and attentive. I started with the orange creamsicle IPA. It had a really smooth flavor with just the right amount sweetness... For food, I ordered the buffalo chicken wrap with fries. The chicken had a crispiness that really stood out... I had heard the new place was just as good as the Iron Hill but I was very disappointed. When we arrived, there were only 3 tables in the bar area it appeared belonged to our server. My daughter's food, chicken fingers and fries arrived first and the server seemed shocked. She went to check on it and said it was coming. 15 min later, no food Several minutes later she said it was coming. When I asked what the problem was, she said it was overdone and she asked them to remake it. I don't believe that was true because I could see the kitchen and it looked like it might not have been entered. Anyway, it arrived, no sauce and was so-so. I had to ask for ranch and wait another 10 minutes before she brought it out. I should have declined and not paid for the entree but did not want to make scene: she did not offer to fix the situation, offer an alternative. And once she got more tables, service was even worse. Last time we were visiting Columbia we went to Ironhill brewery. This time we discovered it had closed and a new brewery had taken over the space. We were familiar with Three Notch'd brewery from Richmond, Virginia and Charlottesville , Virginia )The A team (Alexis & Amber) was our energetic & informative service pair. We enjoyed the honey badger burger with hand cut fries and the southern belle with delicious sweet potato waffle fries. My mother-in-law said the Southern Belle was the best sandwich she had in awhile. Our burger had an awesome charbroiled taste and was cooked perfectly. The hot honey had a nice spicy flavor. Needs to be more attention to food temperature. I was excited to find a Hefeweizen and I also enjoyed a spicy Bloody Mary. They have a great dog-friendly outdoor space. Restaurant is a good location for large groups and provides a dedicated parking lot. They held true to their tagline and "left a mark" on us! read more

It was gritty but blendful. The atmosphere was good with cool ascetics. If they were to add LIVE Music, the vibe would be great. Our waitress was attentive but wasn't familiar with the menu to well. Decided to try this brewpub that took over the place when Iron Hill Brewing closed. The first thing I noticed was just how BIG the place was. It was definitely more of a restaurant vibe than a brewery. We sat at the bar. Our bartender was very nice. We ordered the TNB West Coast style IPA. The pour was 20 oz v 16 oz a plus for $8 beer. The beer was usually dark for a WCIPA and not very impressive.(2.5/5) Ordered their hazy version second, it was the better of the two. Full body and crisp fruity flavor.(4/5) The food was the highlight. My wife ordered a Golden Jack Chicken Sandwich and I had a Classic Cheeseburger and added a fried egg. Overall both sandwiches were delicious. Only complaint here was the hamburger didn't appear to be hand pattied which meant the hamburger came out a little overcooked. TNB had a Sunday bring you pet promo for outdoor seating. We'll bring our dog with us next time. read more

Food was very good. Fresh made, flavored well. The kitchen was a little slow, but I was seated after 2 large parties. Open less than 2 weeks, and need servers. They are smart about service and leave tables empty rather than providing poor service to everyone. The decor is modern with the brewery behind glass along one side of the restaurant. Great service! Sadie was awesome. So attentive and so sweet. The appetizers that we ordered were amazing. We ordered the nachos and the sweet potato fries. They were both excellent! We ordered dinner as well, and the food was delicious. The beer was good also. My only recommendation would be at least one pilsner on tap, but I got the hefeweizen, and it was great! Absolutely loved my experience here. Went at happy hour on a Thursday and it was surprisingly slow. We were very quickly sat and greeted by our server. The weather was nice so we sat outside. It was so relaxing. There's string lights up, and I kind of wish we'd gone when it was dark for that patio experience. My husband and I each got different beer flights and we split the garlic parm fries as an appetizer. The fries were really good. Very well seasoned and we loved the tangy sauce that came with it. They were very short though. Like the shortest little French fries I'd ever seen lol however, I got the honey badger burger (I think is what it's called) 10/10! It came with bacon, blue cheese, and a hot honey bbq sauce with caramelized onions. It was so juicy and the blue cheese was chunky and they did not skimp on the hot honey sauce. I got the side salad bc of the fries appetizer and it was pretty big for a side salad. Not just lettuce and tomato. The lettuce was crispy and it came with crunch cucumbers and grated carrots too. My husband got the all American burger. He loved it. We both could not stop talking about how much we genuinely enjoyed our food. We also got a side of macaroni and cheese. It was good! Not thanksgiving macaroni but still delicious!! As far as the beer. I'm a big fan of sours so my personal favorite was the blackberry gose and then the sweeter puff'd (which smells like marshmallows!!) My husband preferred the SC light but it was a bit boring to me. It took us an hour and a half to get 1 drink at the FIRST TABLE. we split into two tables and they didnt get theres till another ten after us. The food, appetizers didnt come out till the same time as the food, infact after some of the meals the apps came. Waited 40 min for a $21 plate of nachos that were bleh. Added $6 for chicken and had to look to find that. Daughter got her meal 10 min before wife and me, splitting the nachos. My family and I went here for my husband's birthday and our experience was terrible!!! The minute we walked in, we noticed several tables were not cleaned up. We started with the pretzel bites which tasted like a doughnut hole covered in butter and salt, definitely not a pretzel in our book. My husband hated the beer and the basic burgers we ordered tasted like a thin hockey puck hidden in between the most stale buns.
