My family has being going to Old Fashion Bakery for years!! For every event birthdays, graduations, bridal showers, baby showers... I could go on and on! This is a true mom and pops bakery! Very small location but, also efficient. Over the years the customer service has slipped a bit. Their donuts are the best ever! Soft and chewy! My favorite is the glazed donuts! They are a small bakery with the best cakes. They also have great doughnuts and cookies. They also have sandwiches for sale.

The chocolate OF had a rich chocolate flavor. However, I would've preferred a more crisp exterior. Also, I though the inside was too "cakey" if that makes sense. Now look at the second photo. I saw fritters on the Facebook page for this business. But there weren't any in the display case. Therefore I inquired if the shop had any fritters. I was first almost given a cruller. I was then given a fritter, which wasn't actually a fritter. Look at my photos. Also, when I inquired what kind of filling the Long Johns had in them. The worker just said "cream". So, I asked a lady at Family Dollar, and let me tell you, THIS CAKE WAS THE BEST IN WI‼ Small venue, fast picking, I was in and out within 7 min. with adding the custom words to a the cake! I grew up in beloit but relocated to Milwaukee over 10 years ago. I haven't even found anything remotely comparable to this hometown bakery. My kids long for this place. I came in town for a funeral and stopped by and picked up a dozen glazed donuts and brought back home to them as a surprise. You would have thought it was Christmas. Needless to say they didnt last one day in our house. My mom woke up looking for them and one of my sons had taken them into his room for "safe keep." Discovered this wonderful bakery a few days ago . We needed a birthday cake in short notice and they said no problem . We just had the cake and it was probably the best cake we have had in years ! Truly impressed!! Their donuts were amazing , the grandkids love the cookies and there are cider donut holes, creme puffs, eclairs, cupcakes plus so much more ! Wow, yes have had there cakes and cupcakes for graduations and showers recently, absolutely delicious! Wish they were closer to grab doughnuts, breads, and other baked goods! We live in Loves Park, IL so we shop Woodman's in Rockford and this bakery supplies Woodman's in Beloit and Janesville! This is a true, old fashioned, Mom & Pop style Bakery. They have been around for decades, with many of the same recipes. They have discontinued some of my favorites (crullers, sugar twists, and others) but developed new ones. All of their breads and pastries are excellent! Their products are also sold at Woodman's in Beloit and Janesville, and perhaps other locations in the area. I live less than a mile away, so am spoiled and can stop by anytime. This is my go to doughnut place, I love the chocolate old fashion cake doughnuts! Very friendly staff and always well stocked. As a matter of fact I am headed that way to get some right now haha!
