Dunkin Donuts on Main Street in Rockford has the worst service ever. I have a little bit of flexibility during my lunch break and try to go after 12:30 pm to order a cold brew but they are always slow even when I'm the only customer in the drive thru. Also, they prefer to help mobile orders than drive thru orders claiming it was faster due to being a mobile order. It's not acceptable to wait on other customers just because they had a mobile order if you were first in line. Unacceptable. They are rude and unprofessional. The doughnuts on this shop were very colorful, so it was difficult to choose. The shop reminded me of an old-fashioned doughnut shop, with delicious doughnuts displayed. The prices were reasonable. I purchased 5 doughnuts for about five dollars. When I got into the car and opened the bag of doughnuts, the aroma of the doughnuts were tempting and I could not resist eating one. My fiance, his two sisters, and I stumbled in here on our way back from a Thanksgiving trip to Rockford at 7 in the morning. And let me tell you, this place is what donut shop dreams are made of. Walking in, I could already tell this place was going to rule. There were about six people dining in, all senior citizens, all sitting at separate tables, all drinking coffee, and all having a conversation. Perfection. After taking in the scenery, an older woman behind the counter, who I'm assuming was the owenr, greeted us warmly and took our order. I ordered a buttermilk donut and a "rose" donut for myself (the rose was a nod to the shape of the donut, it was cherry flavored). I also tried the coconut and apple spice. The buttermilk was the clear winner in the group. It was everything I wanted in a donut; cakey, but not too heavy, sweet, but not overpowering, and glazed, but not in a sticks to your hands kind of way. It went perfet with my .88 cent burnt, in a good way, coffee. Oh, and in case you were wondering, six donuts, two coffees, and two chocolate milks cost me just over $8. Talk about a steal! I wish I lived in Rockford, still, so I could come here every morning but I'll settle for stopping in on my way out of town anytime we get the chance to visit. read more

My daughter served Doughboys Donuts at her wedding reception a few weeks ago. What a hit!! They were super fresh and incredibly delicious. We had over 200 people at the reception, so we ordered a lot of donuts. We were assured they would be made fresh the day of the wedding and it was obvious that they were. We received so many wonderful comments about how great the donuts were. One man said that he considered himself a "connoisseur of donuts" and that these were by far the best ones he had ever eaten! The owner was a wonderful lady to work with! I cannot say enough good things about her kindness and genuine desire to produce the best possible donuts for such an important occasion. The next morning, we took a platter of left-overs to the hotel where our out-of-town guest were staying, and they were thrilled when we walked in the door with more donuts!
