My husband and I both ordered different variations of fried rice- chicken with pineapple for me and beef for him. The fried rice had a fried egg (not runny which was good) and a broth on the side. The serving was very filling and the iced water was incredibly refreshing! I love fried rice with raisins and my plate did have raisins with the chicken and pineapple rice so that added a sweetness I love. Overall I still have my favorite Thai place in Norman but this is a fantastic alternate when in Tulsa!

We started with pork dumplings which were totally unexpected round dumplings with crunchy garlic on top. Not bad. Just not great. Served with pure soy sauce. I ordered the Broccoli beef which was served dry and Stone cold and had no knife. We got those issues rectified. No apologies. But besides that the service was okay. I didn't eat the leftovers. Hubby had the Gai Pad Med Ma-Muang. " Thai style chicken stir fried with bell peppers, carrots, onions and crispy chili in Lanna Thai special sauce. Topped with cashew nuts. Served with steamed rice. $15.95" His had no cashews; see photo. He didn't love it. There was a long banquet table sort of separating the old bar area and the booths along the windows. I'll add that the place was nearly void of patrons. I just didn't get it. Hubby explained that's where they were keeping track of the carry out/delivery orders. And for that I wish them well.

Located in downtown Tulsa, Kai Vietnamese Cuisine offers customers authentic Vietnamese food with a modern atmosphere. The restaurant is the only Vietnamese restaurant that offers a bar serving alcohol. The Vietnamese pho at Kai was delicious. The broth was savory and aromatic. The pho vegetables plate was bountiful. My favorite aspect of the soup was the pho noodles, just soft enough to maintain that springy texture that's so difficult to achieve. The fresh spring rolls were also excellent. Kai does not shy from giving customers jumbo size spring rolls. I also love the hot tea served at this restaurant which uses dried tea leaves. If there's a criticism with Kai, it would be the lack of variety of meats in their combination pho which only had 3 different meats, far fewer than what's standard for this dish.

The menu had a variety of options but not too many pictures to tell how the dish looked like if you are not familiar with it. Price for pho was a bit higher at $17 for my bowl but the broth did not disappoint. Can never go wrong with Pho no matter how hot it is outside. Everyone was friendly and attentive.
