A well-known Philadelphia coffee shop, this is its branch in Reading Station Market. I didn't do much research this time, otherwise I would have gone to the original store in the Old City. Latte: Even the small cup was quite large, and it was really delicious! They have different "coffee of the day" every day; this one was from Ethiopia, and the bitterness and aroma were richer and smoother than usual. read more

Every time we head back home to Philly we always make a point of hitting Reading Terminal Market for lunch, and for our beverages of choice, we both enjoyed iced vanilla lattes from Old City Coffee! We've enjoyed various caffeinated beverages here before, this is just the first time Yelping them, and the coffee was just as delicious as we remembered it the first time! The service was relatively quick, despite Reading Terminal typically being pretty crowded, and the prices were on the higher end. But overall, there's plenty of options to choose from, and we very much enjoyed heading back home. See y'all next time! read more

Decent! They make home made syrups so thats what drew me in. The vanilla syrup was delicious really flavorful and not artificial tasting. The latte itself was good but could have been a bit stronger espresso. I agree with one of the other reviews stating the coffee is on a lighter side when it comes to flavor. read more

My first stop at the Reading Terminal - Old City Coffee. This is by far the best iced americano I've had in life. The smell of the espresso, that first sip - I was instantly blown away. Coffee stall is located in the Reading Market which always seems to have a steady stream if customers. Coffee is OK and on this visit I ordered an ice tea. It's a stall in Reading Terminal Market with coffee (and related beverages) and a few baked goods. Friendly staff and seems like they're efficient at keeping lines moving. I tried an iced oat milk matcha and added a little (seasonal) ginger syrup. The matcha is only on the iced menu, but they can make it hot. It is, however, only available with oat milk, which makes me think it's probably from some mix/concentrate. It wasn't very strong, but it was decent, and very smoothly mixed. I stopped by Old City Coffee's second location near the 11th and Arch entrance for an extra-large mochaccino, and it was pure mocha perfection! No matter which location you visit, the coffee is always superb! The service was fast and friendly and the location tucked away in a corner of the Reading Terminal Market is often quicker and less crowded than their main location in the market. read more

I got an iced coffee and it came in x large. Most places don't offer a coffee this large unless it's Dunkin. I love my coffee large. It was really delicious too. Did not need crème or flavoring. I did get a splash of oatmilk. So sue me. read more

Old City Coffee located in the Reading Terminal Market. It's tucked in the back but once you're there, the coffee can be ordered via self-service or by the staff. I like they there's an XL size and that they have multiple alternative milks available. My coffee was really good and I thoroughly savored every gulp. I wanted to grab a coffee in the morning before I had to check out of my hotel and leave town. Since I was heading to the market anyway, I picked this place, which is the only dedicated coffee shop in the market. The menu is fairly simple. If they have any seasonal items, I didn't notice them. In previous visits to the market, there was a pretty consistent line, but I got lucky stopping by a little after 8am. I ordered a mocha latte, which was better than I expected. Prices are about what you'd expect from a coffee shop anymore, and service was prompt and polite. I don't know that I'd wait in one of the lines I saw here on the weekend; but if there's only a couple people in front of you, it's worth a stop. read more

Great ambiance with it being in the reading terminal. That being said this shop doesn't have specific seating but there are lots of things to see wandering around the terminal. The wait was short for it being so busy- impressed with the team and their ability to shrub out drinks quickly that are still very quality. They roast their own beans right there in the small shop. It was pricey but a fun experience and convenient if you are heading to the convention center or walking around the tourist areas. read more

I was looking for some strong but tasty coffee after a long ride to Philly from Coastal VA. After wandering around Reading Terminal I found Old City Coffee and found exactly what I was looking for. I'm a big fan of their iced lattes with oat milk, so much so that after I had my first one, I went back a second time the next day. I also like that they have the option of ordering both from the kiosk or in person with a barista, depending on preference. It also looks like they have a walk-up window that can be utilized on the outside of Reading Terminal on the street as well. We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

Didn't love the copper sharp cheese that was a bit messy and tangy. I kept thinking they must have added some type of sauce on it. I'd much rather come back for a simple fried egg combo and chedda cheese. I was also offered sparkling water, but I do wish it had more fizz. The service start to finish was superb in friendly and fast service. I'd come back for mimosa/bar for sure.

The style of the café was great with a modern and clean, yet warm enough to make those early morning hours seem somewhat purposeful, and not as rushed as they could be! If you're looking for breakfast options, it is slightly limited at this café. There were some muffins and baked goods available. My experience with El Café in The Hilton Mōttō was very good overall. I enjoyed the hot chocolate. It was rich, smooth and perfect comfort in the morning on the go. The customer service was also great! They were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Additionally, I thought the prices for their coffee and hot chocolate was reasonable. I'd stop by El Café again if I stay at the Hilton Motto.

I had two iced lattes during my stay and the service was quick. I also was able to get soy milk which is my preference but it is not as common as nut milk-alternatives. Although technically not a part of the cafe, the fact that it's located inside the hotel means there's lots of comfortable seating available around the lobby. Rght across from the cafe there's a fantastic lounge area with a pool table and a collection of books. I don't think anyone would use the books in the library and they're mostly decorative, but I did think it was cute. The menu is adorable - it's a giant scroll on the wall and had some Philly-themed artwork. I would go back just to see if they change up the artwork.
