Decidedly average thin crust pizza. Buffalo chicken rolls were good. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. I'll try the deep dish next time.

Buffalo Chicken Roll ups: OMG DELISH The cauliflower Tuscan Pizza also caught me by surprise. Our server Emily was phenomenal, she was very attentive, if we needed anything before we could ask she was already there ready to serve us. The pizza speaks for itself. We will be back soon for more as we can't get enough!

Pepperoni Deep Detroit Pizza

I've been here several times and this is a good pizza place, and I would recommend it to my friends and family visiting from out of town. The Classic with hand tossed ale crust was delicious. The crust itself has a good flavor which was a bit different than other crusts that I've had. The roasted garlic paired well with the meats on the pizza. The Double Deckeroni with tavern thin crust was also very good. I usually prefer thin crusts so I can taste more of the toppings. You get a flavor explosion of pepperoni and hot sauce with this one. I normally avoid deep dish pizzas because you are just eating extra bread basically, but decided one evening to give it a try since Chicago is well known for deep dish pizzas. I was a bit surprised that I liked this one! The edge of the crust had a little baked on crispy cheesiness - this is awesome! It's like having a cheesy, parmesan bread stick as a crust. The pizza sauce on top makes it taste like you are eating it with marinara sauce. The pepperoni and seasoning added some meatiness and balanced out the pizza. We also had pretzels and pizza rolls here too and they are good. I am usually the one to drive so can't say much about the beer but it seems like they have a good beer selection. The service is good and the restaurant is clean.

I really like A-OK for this place as a descriptor. For some reason when I lived in Nebraska I really did not like eating at this chain. I never went to the downtown location in Manhattan either. When it moved to "walkable from our house" and also open quite late serving food and drink, I became more open minded. The rotating beer selection is impressive and there are some great late night specials. The service is usually really good too. What bums me out about this place is that it discontinues the best things on the menu. In fact, I pretty much only ordered one thing every time: the Mediterranean farmer pizza. It was amazing a la goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, artichokes...and then after I got it for over a year, the company decided to discontinue the pizza AND the goat cheese, just stab me in the heart. The best monthly special pizza was a gyro pizza with banana peppers, tomatoes, tzatziki...it was gone in a poof. The replacement for my beloved farmer was a deep dish artichoke pizza. We tried it and got a lot of dough and sauce with hardly any toppings. Last time we went and I was desperate for anything non-poultry after Thanksgiving which meant burgers or the one salmon dish. It seemed obnoxious not to get pizza or wings here, but I did. Not having my favorite pizza makes me sad. However, the late night menu is really amazing. $3 draft beer, $3 apps. I over-ordered as a cheap date (with myself) when I came to watch Game 7 of the World Series starting in the bottom of the 8th inning after I went to a volleyball game. I got a beer, a mini ricotta jalapeno pizza (custom individual $3 pizza!?!?!? awesome), boneless buffalo wings, and parmesan fries. It was decadent but hot and tasty and I took some home for the next day's lunch. Overall, it is a neighborhood joint for us and the best place to watch a sporting event given the beer selection, specials, TV location, and late night hours. I will keep returning but hoping for great monthly pizza specials or I can just build my own and pay a lot for the toppings individually.

Old chicago has some gooooooood pizza. This thai pie is so good. It had mushrooms, chicken, broccoli, and tomatoes. IT WAS PERFECT! I went during their lunch time so it was 9.99 for this personal pizza and unlimited side salad!!! I never go to old Chicago since I'm a college student and the Old Chicago here in Manhattan is pretty far from campus but I occasionally make my way over there!
