The service was acting like they were packed to the gills when it was barely 5pm on a Tuesday. The tables were sticky, they got my order completely working (she ordered salmon, they brought out chicken), the noodles for my husbands dish were way over cooked, it took 15+ minutes just to get a bill and to go box for the corrected dish. The temperature in the building was way too high, I was sweating with my baby. The salmon was also way too salty once we received it. Overpriced, food lacked quality. Wings were too expensive and they don't even sell them by the dozen. Chips for dip were old and stale. The artichoke dip lacked flavor. So for one appetizer and one entree and soda it was almost $40. Just thinking I could've had two delicious pizzas for way less than this price at AJs . Wife and I don't eat out a lot so it's a special occasion when we do. Thought we would try the 2 for $25 since they added steak. When we got there the waitress said it was actually 2 for $30, even though they had a menu that clearly listed it as a 2 for $25 item and I had this screenshot from an Applebee's adtgat I showed her. She still said it was $30, she "just rang one up" and was really snotty. I asked if she could go ask the manager and make sure and she stormed off, threw her order pad on the bar and went to ask the manager. So we just left to go eat at a locally owned restaurant. If you order Applebee's through DoorDash and order a steak l, you take a serious risk of it being GROSSLY under cooked. I do enjoy a rare steak from time to time but the Med Rare request was a slab of RAW meet with a miniscule attempt at a sear. The odd part is, is when you call the restaurant, they have a policy that says that in order for any sort of compensation or an attempt to make it right on the restaurants part you would have to state your grievances to DoorDash or whichever 3rd party app you used. DoorDash will only offer a 5$ credit for the entire order. Basically, in this case, Applebee's can send out unedible, completely raw meat as an order costing you approximately 25ish$ and take zero risk or responsibility for how their quality of service is. So, lesson learned on my part. I'm just trying to save you any heartache or disappointment due to lack of any sort of customer service or care. Try Longhorns, they're substantially better. read more

Had a wait time of 15minutes turned into 30 minutes. Service is extremely slow (they weren't busy) the wait staff is very unwelcoming and will never check on your table for drink refills or food service. After a day at the Pumpkin Patch we decided to grab lunch. We were greeted upon entry and sat immediately. Our server was Perris she came grabbed our drink order and brought it and later came by to get our food order. She seemed sort of short with us which I brushed off to maybe she was tired or we were taking too long during lunch hour. Then we noticed that she was a lot more friendlier with our surrounding tables. After our food came she never came and checked on us as she did the other tables she smiles with them and was eager to help them. I'm not sure what the issue was but her service was very poor towards us. The food was great! The service was not. If we are in Manhattan again and go there we will make sure we have a different server. On a side note I absolutely loved the Halloween decor it was very festive and the kids loved it! read more

Terrible service, I suffered racism, my food took about 1 hour to arrive, so I decided to order drinks and they denied them because we had supposedly exceeded the alcohol limit, when we only had 1 Margarita, and we were 4 adults, the girl who She served us and had already discriminated against us at Ross Store and she did the same thing last night when my father and my brothers went out to dinner as a family, whatever I ordered she corrected my English by saying things backwards, the food came out very salty and burnt by the grill and very dirty, the worst thing is that the manager who was on that shift only justified herself by saying that she did not work there, that if we wanted to say something we should go the next day with the morning shift... We have a group of 20 that has been coming here every week for approximately a year. The service continues to decline. Our group typically does not order food. We enjoy some cold drinks and occasionally a few appetizers. This evening, I called in advance to let the restaurant know we were coming. They seemed annoyed over the phone. Once we got there, it took 40 minutes to get a drink. This included those that ordered water and soda. I asked for a drink at 10:00 and they refused to ring it in because they were closed due to the lack of employees. During the 40 minutes that I waited for my drink, I observed multiple staff standing around. One individual was on his phone for over 30 minutes. A group of FFA students came in around 9:15 and no one addressed them until approximately 9:35. The adult in charge of the FFA group had to walk around the restaurant and find someone that could seat them even though most of the tables in the restaurant were empty. There was three other tables full in the establishment. There was plenty of staff to accommodate those in the restaurant. I did ask to speak with the manager and she was very rude. It took another 30 minutes to get my tab for the one drink I ordered. read more

I work at the mall so it's nice to have a good restaurant so close by. The other food chooses are pizza and pizza. Lunch specials are pretty legit. Every Monday they have a burger special and large PBRs are 1.99 all day. I usually sit at the bar and get really good service by Israel. Also ask for Andrew or Kayla. Both really good servers. Bad, just really bad. To start the tv sound was way too loud. The wings my husband ordered from the appetizer sampler were raw. The ribs were rubber with bbq sauce on it. My pasta was undercooked, the breadstick was just ok. The waitress was too busy chatting with her friend to pay attention to her customers and how unsatisfied they were, didn't really tried to solve the problem or even asked how she could help. A general awful experience. The only positive was how professional the manager was at handling the whole situation, so we ended up not paying for any of it. I'm always so excited by visiting Applebee's Manhattan, being a recent transplant to KS, finding a local place that offers good food and a great atmosphere was key. Wheather I'm just out for a quick meal or heading out for drinks with friends or even needing a quiet booth at 10pm to study Applebees is first on my list. The food is always hot and the service is always friendly. When they say they treat you like family or the neighbor next door its true. Love the staff here the relaxed and accepting attitude here makes me feel at home. Its refreshing and much needed this day in age. read more

If I could give zero stars I would, we were in this location for a birthday party and we were in here for 3 hours from start to finish. Our whole party's food was cold upon it arriving. I took one bite and couldn't go any longer our server only checked the table 3 times while we were there (that would be once per hour) so we were constantly needing refills but never received them, overall if you would like a good dining experience with warm food that will make you happy you paid for it this is NOT the place please do not come here not worth it! read more

Ordered from this Applebee's and have never had a problem with them except for it taking a long time to get my food sometimes.But this time I ordered delivery and was charged an extra 9 dollars in extra "service" fees for delivery but they aren't even the ones who delivered it. I went to Applebee's today and ordered a fiesta chopped chicken salad. I was brought out what looked exactly like a house salad (had tomatoes, bacon bits, and croutons), but my salad also had chimichurri glazed grilled chicken (the meat that is on the fiesta chopped chicken salad). The size of the salad looked super small as I am accustomed to getting this salad often in Overland Park, KS and know the size of it. I complained that my salad did not look right and the waitress looked frustrated with me and I tried to show her the picture of the salad (online), but she kept saying she could just get her manager. When she did get him all he did was say that this was the right salad because it had the chicken and dressing. It was not right at all! He did end up bringing me out another plate with what looked like the right salad but it still wasn't. Sadly I just knew they still weren't going to get it right. So I gave up and ate the $12 salad that wasn't what I ordered. Probably won't ever go back. read more

Applebee's in general is one of those hit or miss places depending on location. This particular Applebee's is by far one of the worst I've patronized, and I've been to many a Applebee's. I'll just describe the problems I had with this one in Manhattan, KS. Our waiter was not at all attentive. He was slow to refill drinks and to take our credit card once we received the check. Apparently, he didn't know what was going on with our appetizer which we received cold AFTER our meal. We sent back the appetizer and it took forever to get it the second time as well. This could either have been a kitchen issue or a waiter issue, but I deem it inexcusable to receive an appetizer after the actual meal. The restaurant was not busy either. If you're in the Manhattan area and debating on places to eat, do not even consider this one. This comes from a girl who loves her some Applebee's. read more

I went last night by myself to kinda treat myself. I was seated right away and was greeted by the nicest server. I'm sad I didn't catch his name but he had nice long dreads. Well this review is specifically about the service he gave. He was fast and friendly and very attentive. If only I would've gotten his name so he can get the recognition he deserves. Well the good news is Applebee's claims to offer "Car-side to go" now. The bad news is Applebee's doesn't seem to know what that means. This most recent experience will be the last at Applebee's for my family and I. As someone that values customer service almost more than the food itself I've decided I can walk into a Quik Shop and be treated better than having to spend $50 to get treated like I don't matter. I'll just skip to the point. Ordered "Car-side to go" and confirmed that they would indeed serve you at your vehicle. I showed up to pick up this $50 order and sat. Then I sat some more. I sat for 20 minutes in my vehicle and finally decided I should figure out their phone number and give them a jingle. I called and spoke to "Elon" who claims he couldn't hear or understand me. When I asked what his definition of "Car-side to go" was he said "Well we CAN bring it out to you if you want, but whatever you want to do." Pathetic... We lose connection and I call back. "Wes" from the bar answers the phone like I've never heard a phone answered before, almost like he was beating back rabid attack dogs while he answered. With a strong yell in my ear and sarcasm that could last until the end of time he claims they are just trying to find out how long it will be until my food is ready and then in the same breath magically says "oh it's ready now." The magical "Elon" brings out the food and forgets $15 worth of the food I ordered. He goes back in and retrieves it. So I hand him my card for payment and he has to go all the way back inside to run it and do God only knows what else with it. (side note, in the KC Metro area all the "Car-side to go's" carry a portable card scanner with them so they can take your payment and give you a receipt at your car window.) He returns with a receipt and needless to say even though I'm sure he THINKS he deserved a tip for having to hoof it out 20 feet to a car... he didn't get one. Food? Eh, forget it. Not worth it. And it must have been ready for those entire 20 minutes I sat there because it sure as heck wasn't hot or didn't even attempt to be warm. read more

8/12/12 Skip this place. There may not be much to pick from in Manhattan but you can eliminate this one all together. Waited 30 mins then complained about where is our food. The manager stated he didn't know what to say but the waitress said she asked why so long and the cook said "I don't know how to cook it" Not a good sign nor did this give me confidence to finally eat it. My appetizer was soggy and way way too salted and inedible. All they could manage to do for the whole terrible experience was 25% off the meal that the cook didn't know how to cook.
