Only to find out that it wasn't available at this specific location. :-/ The pizza wasn't great. We got a medium size create your own with OC thick crust. They forgot to put a couple of toppings on and just brought them to us "on the side" The Italian nachos sound good in theory but we couldn't pick them up without a pasta chip breaking. Which made it hard to dip in the marinara sauce. All the cheese was stuck to the bottom of the plate. I used to frequent the location in Tucson during college and was excited to hear there was one fairly close (Mesa), but it shut down . I'm so excited they're even closer to us now than before! I like their pizza, it's not the best pizza but on the planet, but it's pretty dang good, IMO. We used to go for the pub pizza ($1.50 back in the day) and I'm pleased to say it's still pretty good, and only $4 at Happy Hour (3-6, M-F). Beer selection is awesome, they have a ton of brews on tap and always some fun tour for the beer club. They have a brew and cocktail on special each day, too, so look out for those. The place isn't huge and being new, it's been pretty packed, but we've always found a spot at the bar or outside until a table was ready. Parking outside is pretty easy, but the shopping center and main streets (Germann & Gilbert) are usually very busy. Great place! What happened to this establishment!!? Walked in, sat at bar, waited for 10 minutes before even being acknowledged. Finally, the evening bartender showed up and noticed me sitting at a seat in front of a dirty bar from the previous patrons. Finally able to order a beer, drank it and dealt with the drunkards at the bar who weren't minding their own business...at 4pm. This is the last time I'll ever walk in this place. I was excited to try Old Chicago as I was a huge fan of the Old Chicago by the old Fiesta mall. The hostess was very friendly and we were seated promptly. There was a football game on but it was not overly packed. It took 30 minutes to receive 2 kids meal, one Chi-town Trio and a short order of wings. Meanwhile meals were being delivered around us to tables who were seated well after us. The food was ok, my son enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. Whoever owns this Old Chicago please get in there and save it!!!!! The pizza tonight was the worst ever, the whole middle under the pizza was completely soggy which has never happened. Dinning room has been closed for almost 2 months and today when we were sat the host at the front didn't say a word to us except your server will be with you in a few. When I asked him a question straight to his face about how his day was the young man just turned and continued to the kitchen. 3 of our favorite servers are gone and one warned us that with all the excessive stuff going on she was going to be leaving shortly to. The first time I went here my boyfriend and I ordered the lunch special with was a personal pizza and a side salad. My pizza was decent but I think personal pizzas are never as good as regular sized ones. My boyfriend wasn't happy with his pizza because it had barely any cheese on it. They have a great selection of beers but this day they were out of three beers we wanted. The service wasn't the best- our waitress disappeared half the time. At the end of our meal, the manager came up and asked us to give honest feedback. He shared that they're a new restaurant and would appreciate our feedback so he can make changes. We shared our honest opinion and he apologized for our experience not being excellent and gave us a card for a free appetizer on our next visit. Our second visit was much better than our first. Our waitress was awesome- she was very attentive and came around right when we needed her. We were able to get the beers we wanted (strawberry blonde and golden lager) and got our free appetizer- Sicily pepperoni rolls (amazing) . We ordered a Chicago thick medium (6 slices) pizza with pepperoni, jalapeños, and mushrooms. The pizza was nice and thick and there was a generous amount of toppings. There is a sign that reads "Thank You For Practicing Social Distancing" but it is very clear they do not care how close tables are to each other and how big people's parties are. Employees are very friendly and are conversational! On to the food; the Memphis Dry Rub Boneless Wings were more dry than rub. They could have definitely used more of the seasoning. The Spicy Pickles are kosher pickles. I don't know about you but I'm not a fan of kosher dill; I think there is definitely a different taste. But the seasoning was very good, they were crunchy (due to the kosher pickle), and the crisp battered outside held up very well. The Pizza Rolls had a very nice presentation. But every bite just tasted like I was chewing on greasy cheese. Aaaaaand now the dessert. The Big Cookie (9") was a decent size in width. But very very thin. I mean why even serve it in a deep dish pan? Who are you trying to fool? I get that it is a cookie but I have seen thicker ones before. And the amount of ice cream that came with it was like two spoonfuls of ice cream. read more

The food and bartender were amazing! We did the all you can eat salad with a pizza lunch and loved it! I also get the double deckeroni with added cream cheese so it's a bit more then the printed prices but totally worth it, the cream cheese is life changing :D They have lots of local beers on tap and we did a Snake Bite with Guinness and a Blood Orange (I forget which...sorry). So good. Our service though with our actual server was spotty, it wasn't super busy so we're not sure what was about and we even asked the hostess to tell our server we wanted 2nd salads and apparently that was never relayed. Ok - I should have taken the bad review's seriously. Awful all around. Wednesday evening should not have been a peak situation but it was disorganized chaos. 1 large pizza, wings and a side salad. Easy right? Nope. So we get the take out to the car and realized the item we thought was the wings were the celery that went with the wings. Go back in. The teeny tiny side salad that cost $6. So not worth $6! wings. It took 15 minutes to get the wings and as we were headed out- realized they didn't bother to give us ranch. By the time we got home the pizza of course was cold and cheese congealed. The wings were ok, the side salad ridiculously small and the pizza was not good. Like Chuckie Cheese not good. Ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and sausage And my wife ordered a small garbage. Also ordered the buffalo chicken rolls. Took a while for the rolls to come out but timing I'm sure isn't perfect on day 2. About 3 minutes after the rolls came out the pizza arrived. Not the end of the world but wished that would have been spaced a little better. Pizza was decent, reminded me of the book it pizzas I used to get back in grade school. I had a very unpleasant experience at old Chicago. I received an email saying I get a free pizza for my birthday. I called the store to place an order and kept reiterating that I had a free pizza coupon for my birthday. I have not ate at old Chicago in several years and I set up my rewards account probably about 15 years ago so I wasn't too familiar with any other requirements or how it worked. On the phone with the gentleman I had told him I had the free pizza coupon and And I said I'm not sure how this works he's like yeah just order whatever you want and I said OK so I told him what I wanted and then he said that I'll be ready in 15 minutes. There was no mention of any price any restrictions nothing. When I arrived at the restaurant, I was told that the order was $29. I mentioned to the gal at the host desk that I was under the impression. It was a free pizza for my birthday. She looked at my account and said oh you do have a free pizza. She applied the coupon to my order and then tells me I owed her money still. I was very confused and said I'm sorry I don't understand and I thought it was free? She sent the manager over and the manager was extremely condescending and rude. He told me that the pizza offer was only for a 1799 amount and that I should "already know that" I tried to explain to him that I was not familiar with their policies and procedures, and when my order was taken over the phone, there was no mention of this requirement. Had it have been mentioned I would have ordered differently. He continued to be rude and condescending to Me And offered to have a different pizza made at a smaller price tag to honor the reward. However, seeing that it was New Year's Eve, and I was in a hurry to get home for a party. I didn't have time to sit And wait for them to make a new pizza. So I declined his offer and left the restaurant. I was made to feel stupid like it was somehow my fault over the miscommunication. They didn't take any accountability for the gentleman that took my order who failed to inform me of these requirements. First time visiting this location. Decided to go the day before Christmas Eve. Was seated right by the hostess area due to our large party of 6. We were seated for about 10min or so and no one approached our table even though there were staff walking all around us. Worst dining experience EVER! The staff all huddle in 1 spot to gossip. A patron at the bar told them to get to work, so one of the servers yells across room telling him to shut up 3 times! He then turns to our server and said "I am going to kill him. It will be easy by putting bleach in his drink! Test me cause I will do it!" We were mortified. Also try explaining that to my child who had questions on what that meant. What made it worse is our server laughed when I informed my child and us were upset and she said it is funny. I enjoyed the pizza. I honestly can't give the restaurant 4 stars. My husband and I had the bruschetta. Wings and pizza. The bruschetta was not that good. Soft in the middle. The waitress bought us the wrong wings. We had to wait longer for that. A manager came by to apologize and that was nice. We asked the waitress for straws. It took her awhile to come back and after that she didn't really check on us for water or anything. I checked and again they said they were too busy before I left and when I got there, there were only 2 tables with a total of 5 people... I am not sure who is in charge if allowing food service pickup but you dropped the ball. I got home and liked their artichoke spinach dip but did not care for their greasy chips. The pretzel sticks tasted good but seemed like they were from something frozen. The pizza had no real flavor and seemed more like something that was pre-made and frozen and definitely not fresh. Some of the toppings on the pizza were burnt as well. My stomach didn't feel all that great after eating the pizza and I ended up getting sick the following morning. I was super disappointed for this less then average food after reading reviews on how good it was. I was craving deep dish pizza all day and after a long day of work was excited to grab the kids and come try this place. Our appetizer came out with our food (kinda defeated the purpose) the pizza had next to no sauce it so just tasted like cheese bread with absolutely no flavor (so disappointing) but I was hungry so I still ate to slices‍, and my son wouldn't even eat his burger he said it was very bland with no flavor. EPIC FAILURE... Millennits!!! Upon arrival of getting into the restaurant The hostess asked for a party of three. My father-in-law casually walked up and said yes that's us but it's a party of eight now. Just playing around with the hostess and having a good time. He correct himself and let them know our real name and total. Minutes later another client walked in my father-in-law suggested that you claim to be the same party. Continuing to be the jokester that he is just trying to have a good time. The hostess became extremely frustrated. My father-in-law told the hostess to lighten up it's a joke. The manager looked up my father-in-law with aggressive eyes and told him he needs to back off. The hostess stepped away as she began to cry. The same 3 person party was called for 3 more times over the next 20 mins as we waited. As we waiting for that 20 minutes you could see that the staff continue to walk up and say stuff under their breath and look over at my father-in-law like he was some sort of terrorist. The hostess returned with tears in her eyes and joined the rest of the staff making comments about who knows what. Eventually the hostess was escorted out of Old Chicago because she couldn't bring herself together to get back to work. When she was escorted out she stared at my father-in-law and continued to glare father-in-law like he was the worst person in the world. When the hostess left my father-in-law asked to see a manager. The new hostess was speechless and couldn't even give a clear verbal response as to weather or not one was even available. The original front manage arrived and address my father in law. When he asked for a different manager other than the one that told him to back off, The front manager made up some sort of excuse about how he was on a food line doing some other job. At this point we walked out... when we left the restaurant the hostess was outside the restaurant main entrance sitting in her car in the front row parking lot. The hostess sat in her car and continued to stare at our whole family as we left. My sister-in-law yelled at her telling go away and leave us alone. The manager heard to he argument going on out front and came out and continued to speak with the hostess who now had made her way out of the car to yell at my sister-in-law. This whole experience is a perfect example of what happens when you allow a successful restaurant to be run by millennials who have no idea how to handle any sort of a joke, no idea how to handle any stress... let alone a restaurant. The manager proved that she has no experience on how to handle any light weight situation, how to defuse a situation of misunderstanding and allowed it to become something greater than it needed to be. We think the food here is great, too bad we'd now drive 30 mins down the road to Spinattos to enjoy good food and GOOD SERVICE. The wait staff were friendly and prompt keeping up with you. There were various styles of pizza crust from Chicago Deep Dish, thin crust, hand tossed and a Gluten Free dough. Of course, we ordered the Chicago Style to give it a go. The pizza arrived and was about half the density of a true Chicago deep dish. It was pretty light on the sauce and tomato's and really didn't have that crunchy crust the you look for in a Chicago Pie. I would try the thin crust or hand tossed if you want to keep it basic but the Chicago Deep Dish was a bit disappointing for what we were expecting. read more

This is one of our go to places, with lots of great food on the menu besides just pizza (though that's great too!). We've been over a dozen times, and on the couple of occasions we had an issue it was quickly corrected by the manager, even though we said we were okay. This is also a great place to watch sports. Lots of local brews and a great selection of rotators. Plus their cool mini-tours encourage you to try new beers. AND the more variety you try the more nice OC gear you get, so kind of a win-win. You get to try new great tasting and cold beers and get some cool t-shirts, long-sleeves and hoodies. However, I saved the best for last ... The Service. The crew at this location is very good and cool. Very friendly, professional, and just overall nice and pleasant. Hard to name one favorite, but among our favorites are: Nicole, Sam, Jess, Bailey, Angelina, Nico and Brittany. In addition, the management folks like Mike and Shea are responsive and friendly. Great service! Our waitress was wonderful. Since it was our first visit, she made some recommendations for beer and food and really knew both the beer and food menus inside and out. The food was meh. The cheese garlic bread was just okay. It was a bit limp and you could tell it needed a bit longer in the oven. The Mediterranean salad was just like any other at any other, average, restaurant.
