The service was outstanding; our server was polite, helpful and friendly.
Then the food came. Should preface this by saying that as we pulled up at the restaurant a Sysco truck left. It was an omen. Of course plenty of really good restaurants use Sysco products but the meals we received appear to have been nuked in a microwave and slid onto the plate.
Most of the beverages I saw were only available in a bottle, e.g., the iced tea was a commercial brand you'd buy at the grocery store, and served in the bottle.
In my wife's case, her lobster tail was placed in a plastic bag with one small lonely baked potato and a bit of corn on the cob that would be about 1/4 of a normal ear. Wife reports the flavor and texture were about 3 out of 5, certainly nothing that made her think she was eating on the Bayou, and we couldn't get over that plastic bag!
I'm not much for seafood so I tried their beef short ribs. Their flavor was 2/5, not out and out bad but the meat was really chewy and gristly and certainly nothing characteristically cajun about the flavor.
We and all of Woodburn have waited for most of a year for this place to open, driving by it on the way to somewhere else, hoping we'd get one more good seafood restaurant to fill out the scanty variety of food joint pickings in this town. But this place ain't it, and we won't be back.
