Croquettes de jamon y serrano and sausage a la plancha
    Vlad V.

On my first night in Long Beach, and a rainy one at that, I had a reservation at Cafe Sevilla for 10 p.m. on a Thursday. I ended up arriving early, a little after 9 p.m. and was seated at the bar. It's good I did because I was informed that the kitchen closes down at 9:30. Crisis averted...though the restaurant should mention when making a reservation online that food is no longer available at a certain hour. I walked over from my Airbnb but noticed that they don't have a parking lot. Your best bet is street parking or a nearby parking garage. Ambiance (5/5): A beautiful restaurant inside. Romantic, nice ambiance, sophisticated...I was impressed wholeheartedly. The Spanish music playing in the background was a nice touch, too. They have live music on the weekends, so I didn't get to experience that but I would have liked to. They also own a night club right next to the restaurant. While I sat at the bar, they also have high tops in the bar area, tables, booths, and a small patio in front of the restaurant. Service (4/5): They charge a 3% transaction fee if you use a credit card. I'm never a fan of businesses trying to pass of merchant fees onto customers. It's a cost of business. If I would have had enough cash on me, that's what I would have done. Despite the policy, the bartender took good care of me. He was friendly and checked in to see how I was doing. A job well done, overall. They also have free WiFi which is always a nice touch. I was able to get some work done while I was chowing down. Drinks (4/5): Cafe Sevilla has a nice list of cocktails, beer, and wine. I couldn't help but go with a Spanish classic, sangria. They have a sangria royale, which I went with for an upcharge, that also has a liquer in it. To be honest, it tasted just like a regular sangria for me. No sweat though, it was a refreshing alcoholic beverage and a treat as I don't have sangria often. Food (4.5/5): I went with the jamon y manchego croquettes which were splendid. The presentation of every dish at Cafe Sevilla is well thought out and adds to the dining experience. Nestled on top of some red sauce, the four croquettes were fried just right and bursting with flavor and cheesy goodness inside. There was even a little pull factor with the cheese which we can always appreciate. Speaking of presentation, while I forget the exact name of the dish, I also ordered the sizzling platter of three different types of Spanish sausage. The platter is flambeed at your table with brandy and apple cider vinegar. Beyond the interactive presentation, each sausage was delicious. The brandy added a little sweetness to the sausage. Along with the small onions on the platter. Chef's kiss. The menu consists of a lot of tapas, plus paellas, and some entrees. Both of my dishes were tapas. While the portion sizes are not large, and it's not cheap, the quality is there. If you're trying to get some bang for your buck, come during happy hour every day of the week, where tapas are half off. They also have some paella discounts on Fridays and Saturdays, I believe. If I lived in Long Beach, I would definitely return! And if you've never had Spanish food before, check them out. It's a treat.

Absolutely incredible -- food, music & vibe all top-notch! From start to finish, our night at Cafe Sevilla was perfect. This place truly delivers an authentic Spanish dining and entertainment experience with amazing food, lively atmosphere, excellent service and unforgettable live music. We ordered the grilled beef and grilled lamb skewers with rice -- perfectly cooked, flavorful, and paired beautifully with their Spanish-style menu offerings. Their tapas-style approach makes everything fun to share and enjoy with friends or a date night crowd. But the highlight of the evening was the live band -- Projection Latin Music! They had the entire restaurant singing and dancing all night long, playing everything from Salsa to Merengue to Bachata and more. Their energy was infectious, and I was so impressed that I followed them on Instagram @ProjectionLatinMusic. The vibe here is unmatched -- part restaurant, part tapas bar, part nightclub -- with live Latin music and entertainment featured regularly. Whether you're coming for dinner, drinks, dancing, or all of the above, Cafe Sevilla knows how to deliver an unforgettable night. Highly recommended if you want excellent Spanish cuisine and a fantastic night out -- we'll definitely be back!

We first came here for a Private Party upstairs in Dec. of 2022. We were served a few different tapas & other dishes which were tasty. We enjoyed the Chorizo Empanada, Meatballs, Ceviche, Chicken, Short Ribs, & Paella. The food left a great impression on us and we wanted to come back to try their regular menu. We've passed by here a number of times, but never made it back. Tonight was the night we'd take the Journey Through Spain! We were seated promptly at a booth. The table didn't fit the curve of the booth seat and it was difficult to slide in. Our server was alright, not very attentive nor personable, but we did get all our food. We took a Journey Through Spain which is a 5-Course Dinner for Two. For the first and second course, you get to choose one item. Course 3 is set. Fourth course is the entrée and you each get to choose one dish. And lastly dessert, it is set. Sad to say that we did not enjoy most of the meal. We were served the first and second course almost simultaneously. Felt so rushed! For the second course we chose the Spanish Salchichas a la Plancha because they flambée the sausages tableside. I wasn't ready with my phone camera and the server didn't seem like she wanted to wait on me. My husband asked her to wait a sec. I got flustered and then missed most of the flambéeing. It is a show & experience, and the server should realize that! After we tasted the 3rd course, the Croquetas de Queso y Jamón, I asked hubby if we could just stop this dinner for two and pay for what we'd already gotten. I wasn't joking, but we pushed through. Journey Through Spain: 1st -Boquerones Filet - fish was very fishy 2nd - Spanish Salchichas a la Plancha - we didn't care for this 3rd - Croquetas de Queso y Jamón - I thought they were ok, but hubby didn't like them. The exterior had a nicely fried crispy texture. 4th - Braised Rioja Short Rib (Hubby's choice) - this was a good dish. Tender Short Rib meat. 4th - Salmón con Chorizo (my choice) - my Salmon was dried out. The very innermost center portion of the Salmon was very good and tender, but it was a small amount. It was overcooked. 5th - Basque Cheesecake - very mushy but tasted ok. Never had such a wet cheesecake. It wasn't really a Basque Cheesecake because there was no caramelized burnt top that is its' signature style. I got a Virgin Berry Mule. I loved the lavender hue of the mocktail! It consists of blueberry, strawberry, lime and ginger beer. The drink was very good although a tiny bit too sweet. Gotta say that the food was not up to par. We are not very picky eaters. We enjoy all sorts of ethnic foods. I dislike rating restaurants poorly, but sometimes it is warranted. 2-stars on Yelp means they "Could've been better" and I do concur.

    Red sangria

Loved our happy hour experience at Cafe Sevilla! Without a reservation at 530pm on a Saturday, we were seated at the bar by the friendly host who explained the dinner show would begin at 7. The dining room has tiered seating to allow good views. Reservations for tables for the dinner show were recommended. Our meal was quick and we didn't experience the music or dancing. But the $7 red sangria was delicious and husband enjoyed his draft Modelo while we nibbled on marinated olives and some olive loaf bread. I should mention all 26 tapas on the menu are half off for happy hour daily from open to 7pm. I found the prices to be a good value and the portions were acceptable for the price. Sort of rare these days! Husband ordered a beef empanada duo and the cheese croquettes ($8 and $7). I ordered the garlic shrimp and the grilled octopus. At $13.75, the pulpo romesco was our most expensive dish, and well worth every penny. Grilled octopus tentacle was tender and delicious! He ate the chick peas and I took the kale romesco. The empanadas and croquettes were a pretty standard preparation, acceptable if not special. BUT...the $8.50 garlic shrimp was a generous pile of garlicky heaven. I also ordered a $5.50 side of saffron rice, which was quite sticky, had a very dull flavor, and didn't get consumed. Our bartender recommended it over the squid ink rice, because the dark right is too salty in his opinion. Fair enough. Our trip to Spain was fast and fun, and we didn't have room for dessert. The only thing that felt strange about this meal was the card they gave me for a $25 return visit discount (valid even on happy hour they say) if i came back having written a review for them. We didn't get back for another meal there during our vacation but I would truly not have redeemed this offer because it felt like a review bribe. Stuffed full and very happy we waddled home with no leftovers. But bragged about the meal to our son who is currently studying abroad in Spain and has not yet eaten grilled octopus!

Come for the food and ignore the price. If I factored in the price, then maybe 4 stars (lol). But the fact that they have a no tipping policy, and the menu has reflected gratuity already... then 5 stars. I don't like the mental gymnastics with tipping culture and just want to see what I'm going to pay so this was great. The food was also very delicious and visually appealing. Plating was superb. The sangria was also delicious and photo-worthy! I would come back for the quality, no pricing BS, and ... weight loss lol.

Had a great time and good food. We had calamari, fresh bread, veggie kabobs, and paella. The veggie kabobs were undercooked and small. Bread and calamari were amazing! Paella was tasty. The mushroom and chicken paella was my favorite. But it was a lot for 4 people. Ambiance was great!

Best place for a spontaneous dinner on Valentine's. Lovely restaurant, fun ambiance and food was amazing. Will come back soon. Was introduced to Betty by a very friendly patron. She was very welcoming and approachable.

This restaurant is a longstanding one in DTLB, which is one of the few Spanish places in SoCal. They have branches in Costa Mesa and San Diego, which we haven't tried. It's only open on weekends. We went on a Friday evening with a reservation. The ambiance was excellent, we felt like we were transported to Spain. Service was very slow and the waiter hardly ever came to check up on us. I am giving 5 stars in spite of the poor service because of the ambiance and food. Live music started at 8 pm. We did a wine flight. For appetizers we had the Spanish Salchichas a la Plancha, which was excellent, flambeed tableside. We also tried the Queso Fundido with chorizo, which was good and the Patatas Bravas, which was very good. We had the family style Paella Valencia, which was excellent. We ended with flan, which was good. Consider watching the Flamenco show, if you want a special experience.

We had a amazing empanadas at Sevilla and we had a sea food parrillada it's was so delicious the only downside was that you had to make a reservation if any of the manager see this massage please open some tables for walking dining not everyone want to make a reservations do to if you're just walking in downtown LB and wanted a nice place to have a drinks

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday and absolutely loved it! Better to come on Sundays for the half off paela. They also offer a happy hour where all tapas are 50% off! The paela was SOO full of flavor. The bamba rice was my favorite part of the dish. Really liekd their apps too and would recommend the papas bravas The male waiter working on 12/1 was really friendly and brought out a free birthday dessert. It was cold outside but the heater wasnt working so the workers brought out the fireplace too There is a 2 hour free parking lot on 3rd street

Stopped by for tapas. First time in LB. Glad we did! Fantastico! Check out the photos. You can't go wrong! We sat outside as it was a nice, warm evening. We had garlic shrimp, potatoes, meatballs, empanadas, dates wrapped in bacon, & bread. We would've had tortilla Espanola but they ran out. They carry a wide selection of Spanish wine as well. Fun & festive decor. Loved the ladies restroom decor in particular. You have to see why in person.

So this was a spontaneous stop after a night out. We wanted to see if the spot was popping and it was unfortunately it was mainly coupled. So we grabbed a drink and packed it up for the night.

It also smells like amazing meat which is a huge plus for me. We didn't have reservations so had to sit in the bar area which did include high top booths thankfully. It was our first time and happened to dine during one of their collab nights. We were disappointed at first because we were craving Colombian food. But the limited menu looked promising so we gave it a go. It turned out that everything was delicious. The spare rib was fall off the bone tender and had great smoky flavor. The beans were surprisingly tasty too. (I always find beans an unnecessary and bland accompaniment). I absolutely loved the brisket stir fry. The flavors blended well and it had a nice kick. The meat was so tender and I appreciated the meat to noodle ratio. The chicken inside the empanada was deliciously smoky but not overly so and the crust was the right consistency and crisp. It came with 3 sauces which were good but would have like a more spicier option. I tried two cocktails that were in the collab menu. The black old fashioned was too strong for me. I definitely preferred the buffalo soldier which was tasty and refreshing. My favorite dessert was the Natilla. It was like a flan mousse and so good. The toasted coconut flakes added a nice texture. The oblea was fun to eat. That cream and jam were a great combo. Overall a worthwhile experience. I hope to come back to try their regular menu items.

Tell me to meet you somewhere and I'll be there. Simple as that and less stress for me. Anyways, that's how we ended up at this place. Trying to find happy hour with food in the area was somewhat a challenge. Either they were finishing up or it wasn't that interesting on the menu. Of course some places offered amazing drink deals but no food. We ended up here actually across the street still looking up for places but the rooftop patio was what caught our attention. The restaurant itself looked bare as there was no one inside. Still on the early side but noticing people going in and then heading up stairs. After a few debates on here and there, we gave up and found our way here. Checked in with the host, letting him know that we just wanted happy hour upstairs. It was about two flights of stairs which the place looked quite industrial with all the metal beams and stairs. Downstairs was beautiful but completely emptied. Everyone wanted to utilize the rooftop patio as it was beautiful out. We were greeted by someone which mentioned to us that any bar seating was available. There was a section towards the back that was pretty lively. I think it was booked for a group. Instead of the bar area, we asked to sit along the rooftop counter that looks out to the street and building across the street. Way better view and perfect way to spend the afternoon hours. Staff were all pretty sweet and very friendly. Whatever we needed they were they to help. Both the regular menu and happy hour menu were quite impressive. As we just wanted HH, it was given. They had drink special for 10.00 and small bites for 10.00 as well. Didn't hesitate and started off with some drinks. The red sangria with mixed fruits was a nice clean and refreshing treat. Tasteful without that aftertaste. And the Le Pistolet Fumant, a delectable tasty drink with mezcal with a hint of pineapple. And other well drink that was perfect for a nice afternoon. HH drink special was quite tasty to start off. Food wise, started off with an order of the Caesar salad, simple but delicious. Fresh crisp Romaine lettuce and slices of Parmesan and crouton bits. Nice crunch with each bite. The dressing, wow pretty tasty. And an order of the Mac and Cheese . Most places it's either a hit or a miss and let me say it was a HIT. Quite cheesy and full of flavors that a second order was had. A dish I do recommend for HH. We also had an order of the Brussels sprouts which was excellent. A nice glaze and crunchy with chunks of house cured pancetta. Nice big chunks I must say. Lastly the beef sliders with Wagyu beef patties. Honestly, this was the least favorite of the dishes we got. You would think it sounded great but it was quite tasteless and nothing major to report on. Served with brioche bun and shredded lettuce and tomatoes and a lemon aioli. I had high hope for it when I saw the group next to us order it but it was a little disappointing. Overall, the Mac and cheese, Caesar salad and Brussels sprouts were all hits. The sliders, disappointing. Other items on HH didn't look too ingesting for us but it was for other people. The rooftop lounge and bar area was the place to be when we were there. It picked up real fast after we got seated. Picnic style tables being occupied by large groups before HH ended. Just the rooftop alone was great and beautiful. It a place that's good for a drink and meal with friends. Downstairs was beautiful but seemed more of an intimate experience. Overall, it was a great choice for a meal during HH.

The line is so long it spills into the dance floor, with people bumping into each other and drinks constantly being spilled. The floor is sticky, dirty, and honestly unsafe. I had just paid the waitress for a drink when staff suddenly started yelling that they were closed and began pushing people out. When I tried to use the restroom before leaving, I was turned away by an extremely rude and unprofessional employee. The cover charge is $15, and it's absolutely not worth it. The environment felt chaotic and uncomfortable, and I witnessed multiple instances of people being touched inappropriately. Overall, this was a terrible experience and I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The attendant let like 5 guys go in at the same time asm door is almost always left open (weird lol) and women restroom always has a line. I personally probably would never come here again lol

We tried their lomito saltado and arrocito norteno. They didn't provide any aji sauce for the lomito (surprising) but were quick to bring some when we requested it. The beef was very tender! So although definitely more expensive than more casual Peruvian spots, we could taste the quality. I also loved the arrocito norteno, as I love seafood paella, and this was basically that. The scallops and octopus were so good! This place is a bit more luxe than the other Peruvian places I've tried before, which is reflected in their price. Although we were there in the day, I could imagine this place being a cute date spot at night. Glad to try this main stay in Long Beach and would recommend for a bit more upscale meal (although no pressure to dress nice at all, just seems like that vibe).

Aji on 4th Streets Retro Row delivered the goods as my Wife & I had journeyed down to Peru in 2024 and from Lima, Cusco and Puno. The flavours encompassed in the dishes we'd ordered which were the Lomito Saltado and the Aji De Gallina were as authentic here as what we dined on back in 2024 which certifies them as premier purveyors of Peruvian cuisine. Drinks wise, they had Maracuya juice which is their local version of passionfruit in that region as well as Chicha Morada which is their Purple Corn beverage composed of cinnamon, cloves, fresh lime juice and when in Peru, they'll utilize pineapple husks for flavouring. It apparently is more popular in Peru than Coca-Cola and after a few sips you'll inevitably see why. Next up when I return will be the Causa trio, in the meanwhile this establishment comes heavily recommended from someone who has traveled to Peru as they hit the nail on the head with their offerings.

Ceviche was yummy ate it all with no Chips. Food service was quick, food was good, prices are not cheap but it's the convenience of getting to your hotel and knowing you don't have to drive, catch a cab or find a restaurant after a long day. Walked the back of the hotel to my room and took in more of the site. Next day ordered room service by Fuego. One thing I noticed immediately was how deceptive the space is from the outside. You walk in thinking you're stepping into a small Italian bistro, and then it just keeps unfolding room after room until you realize you're actually in a large, incredibly lively space. Each room we passed through seemed to gain even more energy. There seemed to be birthday dinners, family gatherings, and just large groups of friends celebrating everywhere, and the whole restaurant had a genuinely festive feel without feeling overly loud or chaotic. Service was fantastic. Our waitress felt less like restaurant service and more like a friend helping the whole table have a good night. Everything flowed really naturally. Timing was great. Drinks stayed full. Plates never piled up, and even little moments that could have felt imperfect somehow just added to the warmth of the experience. We ordered family style for the table and honestly every single thing disappeared. The Burrina pizza and Romana pizza were both excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh and balanced. The lasagna was a hit, and we also ordered a white pasta with fennel sausage that nobody could stop eating. We even had family visiting from Ecuador with us, and everyone cleaned their plates and had a great time. We skipped dessert because we had cake waiting at home, but judging by the number of tiramisus passing by our table, we may have made a tactical error there. The only real challenge is parking. Broadway parking is Broadway parking, and locals already know the situation near the beach can get rough quickly. If you live nearby, I'd honestly recommend Ubering or walking if possible. This immediately went onto my shortlist for large group dinners in Long Beach.

While it was never my personal favorite, I continued going because my wife enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our experience on Sunday, May 3, 2026 definitively closed that chapter. We arrived around 5:45 pm, at a time when the restaurant was clearly not busy. A young gentleman at reception greeted us warmly and was about to seat us, but was abruptly interrupted by a woman who directed us--without explanation--to sit along the wall. We waited there for about 10 minutes, despite a clearly prepared table sitting ready just a few feet away. When we were finally seated, it was at that very table next to the reception desk. Throughout the interaction, the woman showed no courtesy--no smile, no "please," no acknowledgment, and no "thank you for waiting." After years of patronage, this level of indifference was disappointing enough to ensure we won't be returning.

When we got seated it was just the two of us and another couple. The server took our orders right away. Ordered the chicken, beef and shrimp empanadas and shrimp ceviche. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! At this point it was just the two of us and the server. Waited roughly 45 minutes for our food because it looks like the server decided to take a lunch while we wait for our food. The server did not check on us or apologize to us that it was taking a while for the food to come out until she saw the frustration on our face and inform us the food is almost ready! 45 minutes later, she brought out the empanadas and I received two chicken and one shrimp... it was OK with the help of the sauces that was given. The shrimp ceviche was actually good, the shrimp was cooked perfectly. Here's the thing, the menu does not have prices on it and when we received the bill, the ceviche was $22! For the amount and for what it was, it was not worth it. The whole experience was horrible.
