Very fun if you're looking for a college crowd on a Saturday night. If you don't want sake bomb screams every 15 mins, I'd recommend going during the week instead. Ok food, fast service

The sushi was fresh, great options on their menu. The ambiance is nice, suitable for a date or hangout with friends. The staff was quick at attending us and helpful. Glad to have visited this restaurant because it takes the stress out of looking for a reliable sushi spot.

Lunch specials are great. I have gotten the chirashi twice. It is very consistent. Nothing premium though. Just your typical tuna, salmon, yellowtail, mackerel, and tomago. Comes with soup or salad. Always ready by the time I walk over (within 15mins).

can't make a reservation for a hibachi table with just two people. ordered hibachi at a regular table. not the same experience but food was solid

Nice sushi spot with reasonably priced lunch specials. 2 sushi rolls for $14 with either a soup or salad. I opted for miso soup with a spicy tuna and shrimp tempura roll. Flavor was great, my only bone to pick was that the nori was a bit chewy and hard to eat. Service was excellent and very fast. The restaurant itself was quiet during lunchtime which was nice.

pretty good hibachi, not the best ive had but it was solid for the price. i tried the chicken hibachi which came with miso soup. the soup was standard but i wouldve preferred more tofu. the hibachi was a good size, and included chicken, oranges, and veggies. i paid an extra $5 for fried rice. the rice was just alright, and the veggies overall didn't taste the freshest. service was good. the place is quite cute inside with adorable dish ware. also no wait time for 2, and there was lots of seating inside. to note, the hibachi chef side experience is only available at dinner time which i was not aware of beforehand.

Walked in here by myself after a happy hour event! I needed food and quickly! I was seated immediately by the hostess, who was so friendly and sweet. Right away a server came by to take my order, after a quick glance at the menu I knew what I needed, wings and my fav Salmon rolls. Within 10 minutes I had my drink and wings to start. The wings were crispy and seasoned perfectly. I tried to eat them as modestly as possible but I couldnt help myself; they were really good. The salmon roll was fresh and filling! Since I was by myself the staff would stop by and chat with me for a little bit which was super sweet. All in all I was there for 30minutes total. As a native new yorker, i love when i can get in and out of a place within 30 minutes and feel like i had a 1-2hr experience. I will definitely go back!

Love this spot in WV! Perfect to swing by for lunch or dinner. The staff are great and they present their sashimi plates beautifully. Been here a couple times now and will for sure keep coming back! I love to keep places in my back pocket that you can always count on if other plans go awry and this is being added to that list!

Stopped in for a lunch with a colleague and wasn't disappointed. At the back of the restaurant, there's a hibachi station and the chef seemed to have the crowd entertained when I visited. The food we ordered was pretty typical and didn't really wow us but the pricing was decent and it did come with free sake shot at the end of our meal.

Eel avocado roll, uni sushi with quail egg, toro sashimi
    Alana K.

I came here with my dad for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant is pretty big, which standard tables in the front section and hibachi grills in the back. I had the sashimi lunch special, which came with five different types of fish and some rice on the side. I thought it tasted fresh and was a nice selection. We also ordered uni sushi (not the freshest), toro, and an eel avocado roll (mostly avocado, not very much eel). Definitely not a bad sushi spot, and they have a ton of lunch specials.

Very nicely prepared. Good mix of white tuna, salmon, tuna, yellowtail , and reasonably priced.

Great reasonable and tasty. Nice people working and food was quick and delicious. Nice to find this gem in a sea of overhyped places.

I got sick after eating here. The presentation of the food was great. The service was good. Everything tasted good until I got home shortly after with stomach cramps and the runs. I found myself at this restaurant after looking for a local place to eat on Yelp, and by the reviews it seemed like it was going to be good. It wasn't busy for a Friday evening. We were seated immediately, and the staff was quite friendly. We ordered the Sushi Pizza and 3 Sushi rolls. I believe the culprit was the Sushi Pizza. I was the only one who had the sushi pizza in my group. And, I was the only one who got sick. The Sushi Pizza was also my least favorite of everything we ordered. I expected it to be spicy tuna on top of crispy rice, but instead I got Spicy Tuna on top of a flour tortilla. I eat sushi often and never had this reaction. All of the other rolls we ordered were tempura rolls. The Sushi Pizza was the only Raw Tuna Entree ordered. Something was definitely off with the Spicy Tuna. I felt terrible afterwards. I wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I cant vouge for the freshness of the food.

I've been to the Ichiran in East Williamsburg but found this location to be more hectic and touristy, naturally. You order on a tablet, pay (no tip), and then are directed to a seat by a welcoming host. Poor guy must have to repeat the same spiel a billion times a day. I just defaulted to Ichiran's suggested levels for everything which made it fast and easy. Once you're at your assigned cubbyhole, you can hang your coat up on the wall behind you and fill up your water cup at the machine also behind you. You don't even see the face of the person who brings out the ramen which gives the whole process a mysterious bank teller vibe. With all this, the classic tonkotsu ramen ($23) with slender noodles nearly gets overshadowed, but don't fret since it's fantastic. I believe when you're done, you just get up and leave. Surprisingly, one of the instructional posters does not go into this.

When you walk into the restaurant, you pre-order at the touchscreen to the right of the entrance and later when you're seated you give the order receipts to the server at your window. The food at this location is obviously going to be pricier than it is in Japan (came out to around $60 for 2 people), but it is SO worth it as you can't get Ichiran anywhere else besides in Japan.

First - Tonkotsu (pork) ramen was perfectly balanced. The broth was deeply flavorful but not heavy, almost like an 80/20 hybrid of tonkotsu and shoyu (soy sauce) ramen. Noodles were springy and not overcooked, and the roasted pork had a slightly smoky flavor and was flavorful itself, not just protein and texture like many other ramen joints. We also had the edamame appetizer - super flavorful and addictive, and we wound up ordering a second one (for our party of four) after devouring the first one. Now here's why it's my favorite ramen restaurant- my favorite dessert is banana pudding, and Tonchin's signature Tokyo banana dessert is an elevated banana pudding that makes magnolia bakery look like amateur hour. Plenty of fresh banana and a carmelized banana on the side with a balanced pudding that's not too heavy - this is peak banana pudding. So it has my favorite ramen and favorite dessert. But can it do better? Yes. It can also have...my second favorite dessert! Tonchin has excellent shave ice desserts that reminded me of Korean bingsu. We had the strawberry and it was fresh, bright and had lots of strawberry flavor. Delightful. Service was excellent and the ambiance of the space is dark and elevated. I've had them before so I knew what to expect but it was way too salty, less flavorful. Had a very nice flavor, the salt overpowered it though. I tasted mushroom. The sauce stuck to the noodles well and the noodles were delicious. My daughter and husband ordered the spicy ramen and they said it was very very good. Couldn't decipher distinctly from other top notch ramen so it wasn't knock your socks off. From now on I'll order the base dish when I go places so I can judge better. The gyoza was cooked very nicely, came sizzling and the bun with meat was a little ugly, it looked boiled and unappetizing. The taste was just okay. The topping on it was notable. The waitress didn't help us at all when ordering. We weren't bowled over with the food, although it was noted the meat in the ramen was high level. It hit the spot but I will try other places in the search for our "return forever" ramen place.

For a restaurant, especially one serving customizable ramen dishes, with a allergy list post on the wall by the counter where I sat at B1, a little flexibility or empathy toward food allergies would go a long way. The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short. The smashed cucumber was good. Spicy dumpling was good. Ramen broth was light, not as rich or flavorful as others. There are so many good ramen places in NYC, this Chinese Ramen place has lot of room to improve.
