I think the ambiance may put some off because the store clearly makes most their business through delivery orders--there is a desktop taking orders in the front when you come in and really only enough room to comfortably sit 4, maybe 6 people maximum. My go to dish here is the Kalbi dinner bento box. It's super flavorful and the beef is quite tender! When I ordered it recently, instead of discounting because they ran out of the Kalbi beef or calling to let me know that they couldn't fulfill the order- they ended up giving me half Kalbi beef and half regular beef chunks. The beef was overcooked and tough. Sorry, not everyone who orders is non Asian in Bayridge, especially now when there's an influx of more Asians. And yes, we should be supporting one another, but I was disappointed to find out about their dishonesty and probably getting away with it with those who don't know any better. Today I'm reviewing them for the sushi lunch special by delivery. You can pick three basic rolls for $15 and the fish tastes fresh and good. The rice is perfectly cooked and seasoned and each individual grain has its own identity. Miso soup and a small salad are also included at that price. The salmon platter was $22 and for anybody who can't get enough of salmon. (My SO is a salmon fiend, so it checks out). Previously, I had the chicken katsu, which was an incredibly generous portion and a really nicely fried panko crust. My baby girl wanted a snack and I remember driving by a Japanese joint of the corner of 3rd Avenue and Bay Ridge Avenue. Drove to the location and the name of the little joint is known as Okinawa. A hole in the wall place that can seat 8 people comfortably. Long story short, I thought they sell little Japanese snacks and all, but they had a full menu. After looking at the menu, I ordered the three rolls (eel cucumber, shrimp tempura and salmon avocado) and salmon teriyaki bento off the lunch special section. An additional order of fries, cold snow ears with dates, cold ginger honey, and soda. No pictures because my baby girl and nephew devoured the food. To my surprise the food was good...its no omakase type place and far from being high class dining. It's a mom and pop joint serving good food that'll fill you up and you won't feel like you just got mugged after. Definitely worth a try and you may end up coming back for more. read more

Listen , when it comes to sushi rating is subjective but for the price to quality ratio I suggest this place. a little cramped for sit in but thats how that locations always been since little forno and petit oven , the fish is fresh and prepared well. all though there seems to be a lack of knowledge of the difference of rice on the outside and seaweed on the outside.
