I had the ramen which was delicious, I got "mild spicy" which was a little chili oil on top. I did a create your own ramen and got to choose my soup base, toppings, and protein. My fiancé had the Philly love roll which he thought was tasty as well. Very polite server, the food came out relatively quickly and she didn't come over a whole lot as to let us enjoy our meal. The restaurant was clean and decorated with anime art and had some instrumental music playing. Overall good experience, and will be back! read more

Hit Oki Maki while I was in town after my flight landed. I didn't see much open in the area that interested me but I got the ribeye ramen from Oki and it was just what I needed after traveling. I asked for extra spicy and it didn't disappoint. Came here when they first opened. Back again 5 years later visiting from CA to see family in the area. I got a $36 poke bowl. WHAT?! First the guy behind the counter was confused I wanted all this stuff in my bowl and shocked how big my bowl was (3 proteins). Lol! Then they charge $4.99 per extra protein. I had 3 extra. Kani salad is a protein apparently, elsewhere its a side and FREE! Wow! They're skimpy protein sizes so an extra $5/protein is outrageous. Poke is fresh so that didn't change. But DAMN! $36 is the most I've ever paid for a Large poke bowl when it's supposed to be a cheap lunch (at least in CA). Price point for this place is 2 stars. My parents and I ordered food through door dash from this place for the first time tonight and really enjoyed the food! We ordered the Philly cheese steak dumpling, but unfortunately they forgot that in our delivery. We received credit for it though so it's all good. We also ordered the soy glazed wings, which were very tasty. Very crunchy and had good flavor. We all agreed it could've had a stronger taste and more sauce, but I'd still order it again. My dad ordered the chicken Katsu don bowl. Chicken was excellent, generous portion and flavorful. We thought it would be a traditional Katsu bowl meaning egg would be included with all brown sauce, but no egg and the only sauce was the spicy Mayo. Very good, but not wet so my dad ended up putting Tonkatsu sauce we had at home over his meal. My mom and I ordered the sushi burrito. She did white rice, crab stick, honey wasabi, cucumber, seaweed salad and tempura crunch. She loved her burrito and kept saying how good the rice was. I thought her burrito was good, but mine was better. I'm not a fan of imitation crab so that was the only reason why. My burrito was white rice, spicy tuna, spicy Mayo, cucumber, avocado, Asian slaw and tempura crunch. I loved my burrito and would absolutely order it again. I was told to try the sushi burritos here. They are actually very good and I recommend! I got seaweed w/ white rice, shrimp, cucumber, avocado, edamame, spicy mayo, and eel sauce. However, I've had some of the other choices here and they aren't as good in my opinion. I wouldn't go here for actual sushi but the sushi burritos are fire. I ordered take out and the service was normal and good, but I've never eaten there so I'm unsure about how their service is. The ambiance is average, nothing special but not bad either. read more

*Just an FYI- I love this place and their sushi burritos. This rating is specifically for the ramen/back dining area, NOT the sushi burritos/restaurant in general!* Went here today to try out their sit down dining. It was my boyfriends birthday and I wanted to take him to ramen. As you can see from previous reviews, I love their sushi burritos! We came in, got our temp taken, and sat down. The tables in the back are spaced out and we were the only ones there. It was roughly 1 o clock, but I know this place is never packed when I come. Our waitress brought out menus for the create your own ramen and some appetizers. We ordered the cheesesteak dumplings, spring rolls, and the soy glaze wings. The appetizers were the best part of the meal!! The cheesesteak dumplings were DELICIOUS and I really wish they were bigger/came with more!! Spring rolls were like any average ones, very yummy!! The wings made my boyfriend fall in love! They were super crispy and crunchy and had the most amazing flavor! That came with 6 so it was a great splitting size!! For our entrees we built our own ramen. I'll describe below. Mine: straight noodles, pork bone broth, braised pork belly, bamboo shoot, bean sprout, mushrooms, and a soft boiled egg. I got no spice. Boyfriend: straight noodles, pork bone broth, chicken, bean sprout, spinach, and an egg. He got spicy flavor. Overall, it wasn't the best ramen we've had. The noodles were all stuck together in a clump in the middle, so it was hard to eat them! My boyfriends ramen also wasn't spicy at all! I did enjoy the flavors of mine and drank all the broth. The egg was delicious as well (always my favorite part of ramen!) While we definitely enjoyed it, we probably won't return here for ramen again. Like I said, the appetizers were delicious! The back room was nice and quiet, but nothing romantic. Our waitress was kind and I recognized her from making my sushi burrito. She did spill a bit of my boyfriend's ramen broth, but it was no big deal! The food came out fast and she checked on us often! To pay, we just came up front and they had our order. For all we got, it was decently priced. Also, I have the stamp card for every $10 spent, and it was great to know that eating in the back room (and not just sushi burritos) counted towards that!! This is so upsetting. I just picked up my order from Oki Maki because it was close to me and I wanted a quick meal. I ordered the Karaage Chicken and Szechuan Fries and it totaled to roughly $12. The chicken was very tiny and you only get 6 pieces. They were as big as quarters practically. I was hoping that they would be bigger but you're better off going to Chic Fil A that's down the street. You'd get more pieces for a dollar less. The fries had seasoning on it but there was barely any so it just tasted like deep fried fries. I will not be going here again. There are like 5 counters and a row of ipads when you enter this place, choose wisely. Lol Luckily, I have no problems with solving mysteries. The help i wanted was at the glass case of ingredients to my left. Also lucky that I can sort of guesstimate how things will taste. I had what I am dubbing "the food cone" this a toasted nori deep fried with tempura breading. I made my cone with brown rice, sliced carrots, sliced papaya, sliced beets, tempura chicken with spicy mayo and honey wasabi sauce. Also, for "crunch" I chose toasted garlic. AMAZING! FYI: my boyfriend's Don bowl, that he unfortunately regretted his choices (fish eggs, salmon, sliced mango with jalapenos is always a bad choice) and they do not allow "remakes". He didn't eat. Shoutout to Oki Maki for bringing the sushirito to South Jersey! Overall, the sushirito is solid! It tasted like the clean meal I was looking for with the fish and veggies tasting fresh. Admittedly, I was a bit thrown off by the smaller size of it at first; however, it's surprisingly filling. I think the comparison that usually comes to mind is the sushirito vs an actual burrito, but that really isn't the right way to approach it imo. The size of the sushirito here is basically the same as that of a typical sushi roll that isn't cut into pieces; so it makes sense in terms of serving size and price. If I had to nitpick, I wish there was a liiiiittle more fish. Make sure to grab something from their array of Japanese bagged chips to munch on with your meal. Most of them aren't that common stateside; so I can appreciate Oki Maki for making some available. Check them out! It's a cool way to change up the sushi experience. read more

Disappointed. After a movie, we were hungry but not too hungry, we wanted fast food but not THAT kind of fast food, and it was kinda cool outside so we wanted something hot to eat. We spied this place around the corner and decided to pop in. It was fairly empty but no one greeted us or told us what to do. We figured out that we needed to sit in the large seating area where iPads were waiting for us to take our order. The first iPad didn't work, so we had to move to another table. We had a couple of questions, but had to wait until someone finally meandered over after sitting for a long time. We opted for a couple of appetizers, which we enjoyed - the fried chicken bits and dumplings were good. We shared a bowl of some sort of ramen soup with pork (after much to do about not sharing bowls or splitting one bowl into two, I can't remember, it got complicated but they finally relented). And after all that... it was much much too salty. At least for my taste buds. The ramen noodles itself had a nice chewiness to it but personally, I just didn't really care for the broth. I can't quite place why - perhaps the ingredients didn't come together for me. Again, this is just personal taste. My sister didn't share the same opinion. read more

At the time that we tried out Oki Maki, they were advertising a new Cajun crab boil offering. This all sounds really great! Sushi burritos, ramen, and crab boil all in the same place. My guess is that's it's going to be a challenge to do all of those options well. As for the ramen, I thought it was pretty good; but my sons and my wife didn't like it at all. My oldest son is a picky eater, but he usually does well with ramen. I was disappointed with another part of my order. They offer small plates, kind of like side orders, of poke. I ordered a salmon poke to compliment my ramen. First, it didn't come out with the rest of the order and I had to ask a few times before it finally did. When the poke came out, it wasn't poke; it was salmon tartar. So I showed the server the image on the menu (pictured on a iPad/tablet) and asked her if they were the same thing. While she admitted it wasn't, she explained that they ran out of poke. How can a sushi burrito place that uses cubes of salmon run out of salmon poke? Then she offered to bring the manager over. The manager confirmed that they were out of salmon poke; but then 5 minutes later, brought me out the order. After all that, it wasn't very good. I wish I had canceled that part of the order. I think this Oki Maki is pretty new, and I hope they get better. It's a pretty neat concept and I want it to succeed. read more

Gave this place a try on a Saturday night. Cute decor however I couldn't help but notice several tables weren't bussed and the floors needed a good sweep through. But ANYWAYS let's get to the food. The Philly cheesesteak dumplings were amazing! Just warning though...only 3 come in an order in case you're trying to share. Also, the spring rolls...perfectly crisp. Lastly, my boyfriend and I got the beef ramen and the broth was flavorful and the beef basically was so tender that it just falls apart and melts beautifully in your mouth. If you're looking for good, authentic ramen, this is NOT the place to go. Can't remember exactly which ramen I ordered, but I'm sure they're all similar. The noodles do not taste fresh - perhaps packaged rather than handmade - and there seems to be little effort put into making the actual broth. The broth is salty and, after ordering from an ipad, I received my ramen in less than 5 minutes. I'm sure the broth is premade - which isn't a bad thing - but the sheer lack of effort or time put into making this bowl of ramen left me with less than good feelings about this place. I am not sure if there is anything authentic about this ramen; seemed like another restaurant trying to make some money without knowing ANYTHING about what they are making. I am honestly so disappointed by this place. The decor is pretty cool though. They have pennies in all the tables and ordering from an ipad was quite fun. I originally came here because I wanted to challenge someone's review saying the ramen here tastes like Japan. But I ended up getting the rolls (seems like that's the main thing here) and wow I was pretty impressed. Because this place is not serving regular traditional rolls, I did not grade based on this standards. I ordered a Maki roll with salmon. My initial concern was how the raw salmon would taste given how they stored it and it was fine (sashimi grade salmon is hard to make taste bad. One would have to store it in very poor conditions for the raw salmon to taste bad but because of the fat content, it is usually alright). Based on other recommendations, I got wasabi honey, Asian slaw, onion, cucumber, Mango, and topped off with fried onion. Presentation of the food was great. They are really good at wrapping thic burritos. Taste was amazing the combinations of sweet and salty and savory was great. By the end of the Maki roll, I was full. With tax, the order came out to be $10.61. Eating great tasting food and that price point and being full made me come to a conclusion of 4.5 (4 being good, 5 being amazing, 4.5 being pretty darn good) Next time I come, I will be trying the ramen and WI be updating my review accordingly. My sister brought me here when I came home for Mother's Day because according to her, this place is "so good". I mean, I can't exactly say no to sushi. WHAT I GOT: Sushi burrito with tuna, tobiko, avocado, spicy mayo, edamame, cucumbers, and tempura crunch PROS: The ingredients tasted pretty fresh and the menu is easy to navigate. The sushi burritos are customizable, and even if you don't want it in burrito form, you can choose a rice bowl (don) or a sushi cone (fried seaweed). The avocados cost a bit extra but so worth putting it into the burrito. I also recommend adding the tempura crunch in there for an extra pop of flavor/texture. This place is actually the first place where they had edamame in the choices which kinda surprised me. All in all, above average. CONS: Be warned, this place is apparently a popular hangout spot for high schoolers (Eastern is right across the street) so be on the lookout if you're not about the noise/crowd. Walking into Oki Maki was a bit confusing to any first timers. We don't know if we should wait to be seated or sit yourself. At least there was a sign to enter the dining room for ramen dine in, but some still weren't sure to wait or walk in. It would be helpful for the sign to say self seated or something. Then, at the table to say, self ordered or some sort of directions - may be on the iPad idle screen. Can't help but to compare. Ramen is so so. Decent portion, not bad. Cha siu ramen was creamy. Pork was so soft and flavorful. I ordered extra spicy but did not taste any spice. I would want to try the sushi don, cone and burrito but seems like it's so not worth the price point. A friend of mine told me about this beast and Being the foodie I am I needed to tame this bad boy and show my skills. I walked in a there was a chick standing there in front of a buffet style of fixins' and I built a giant spicy tuna roll equipped with everything the roll has just on a larger scale. (Note: see Lor W's review, she hits the nail on the head. This place is disorganized as heck!) A strange, delicious, confusing little restaurant that is kind of 3 restaurants in one. I think. It's inside the same suite as the "Pirate Crab" seafood restaurant, which I'm not sure is even open. When you go in to OkiMaki, you go to the counter on the left to order a sushi burrito OR you go to the tablets on the right to order ramen. The Yaki ramen (more noodles, less soup) is delicious and I highly recommend it! It takes a while to prepare though. The sushi meals are also delicious, and come in a few different varieties. They have a tempura-fried seaweed cone that is very tasty and satisfying, but difficult to eat and very messy. The meat is all at the top and the vegetables are all at the bottom, and the sauces tend to leak through by the time you're done. I want to like it but it's frustrating. They also have a "sushi burrito" which is basically just a really thick maki that isn't cut into 6 slices. It's a lot more logical than the cone but less filling so I'd recommend getting a side of dumplings or tempura seaweed chips. Side note, every time I've gone there, I seem to always get yet another new hire taking my order and they always seem a bit confused about how things work. read more

Oki Maki shares a space and an entrance with Pirate Crab (newly opened restaurant). Upon walking in, we didn't know where to look first. The friendly staff appears to be in-tune with this, as they witnessed our perplexed expressions and asked if we were there for Oki Maki or Pirate Crab. As referenced by other reviewers, the ordering process is very disjointed. My Love was in the mood for maki and I was in the mood for ramen. The main menu for Oki Maki is listed on the wall above the food assembly space, however, the appetizer menu is listed on the back wall near the utensils and napkins. Very easy to miss. You are unable to order ramen at the counter, rather, you have to order via an iPad along the same wall that leads to Pirate Crab. He ordered his maki/sushi burrito and I was instructed to visit the iPad area to order my ramen. I wished there was a way to be alerted of this ahead of time, as my ramen came out a bit after he already received his maki. There was a sign on the floor under the "iPad bar" that provided some ramen ordering instructions, but again, it was very easy to miss. And the ramen sign referenced the "Ramen Room", which is now the space for Pirate Crab. I think a new sign is in order...just saying. A receipt is printed out for your ramen order and you bring it to the register to pay. But what if there is a long line for the non-ramen orders? What if people are taking forever to decide upon their meal (food-assembly style)? Do you go all the way at the end of the line and wait behind the people who are placing their orders, or do you just go right up to the register to pay since you're not actually ordering anything at the counter? But if you DO head right to the register, then you're cutting the line. Again, very disjointed. The ramen was good (albeit a little overly-salty) and he felt his sushi burrito was "okay". The flow of the space, the limited seating, and the ordering process felt super clunky to us. "Confusion" was definitely the theme of the night among us and the other patrons. read more
