Sounds like this may be an unpopular opinion but I would say the Noble Pig was mid at best. We came…read morein after a long day at a nearby hockey tournament so it was definitely a full house, but based on rave reviews we were expecting much more than what we received. The ambiance was chill and the booths were roomy and comfortable but sadly that was probably the highlight of the meal. The server was ok but not overly friendly or attentive by any means. We ordered the pulled pork sandwich, a pulled pork "bowl" and a small pizza. Nothing too crazy or over the top so we figured it was pretty simple and would be relatively fast. To our surprise it took a solid 40 minutes. We figured that one of the dishes may have taken a bit longer so we stayed patient, but when the food was served it was lukewarm nearing cold. The food was nothing special but maybe could have gotten another star had it been served hot. Sadly disappointed to be quite honest, the best part of the actual meal itself was the side of French fries that accompanied the pulled pork sandwich. Sadly, the menu prices definitely did not match the quality of food or rave reviews.

We were seated right away by a friendly host and our server who was super helpful throughout our visit. While we dined, the place got much busier and had a nice buzz to it. It had a distinct theme inside that aligns with its name and its selection of flagship brews. As I mentioned, we were hungry after a long drive so we obviously over ordered. We started with the Triple Threat Pull Apart Bread and the Crispy Pickles. Both were amazing! The bread was so soft and delicious and the pickles were savoury, but also spicy! Be warned! My partner ordered the Stuffed Yorkies because they weren't something we'd seen on a menu before. He loved them! The dish was three Yorkshire puddings stuffed full so it was also HUGE. I got the Flagship Mac and, honestly, for a place with multiple macs on the menu, it was remarkably unremarkable, unfortunately. Don't be discouraged, though! The quality of the rest of the food was so high that it made up for that tiny miss. If you're in Kamloops, check out The Noble Pig. They also have a great patio!

The place is about 1h out of Kamloops, and maybe 45 minutes from Salmon Arm. In case you're wondering, a Crannog is a Scottish (and Irish) stilted building, usually built on bogs. Getting here involves a turn onto a side street (literally an intersection, not an exit) right off Highway 1. A GPS helps big time here. Parking is available in the small lot in front of the building. There is barely enough room for 8 vehicles. Other than 1 type of brew during my visit, only pre-filled growlers were available. In other words, one cannot simply bring in a growler for a filling for most beers. Guess their operation is too small. I was able to fill my growler for $15, while my buddy picked up a pre-filled one for $20. Tours are available (free, but reservation required), which last about 1h. This is a special mention, because not only is it quite educational, but those who complete the tour get a free tasting (4 beers at the time of writing) at The Bloody Stump, their in-house tasting room. Definitely learned quite a few things. For example, almost everything used for brewing is produced on the property. The water is drawn from a well, and the hops are grown on site. The used barley is used to feed the hogs in a small pen nearby, and the hog poop is used to grow more hops. The tasting room is very cozy, but this is where one can try the different brews. Special mention goes to the Red Branch ale. This is probably one of the best craft beers I've ever had in my entire life. Yes, it's that good. I regret not picking up a pre-filled growler of that stuff.
