We came upon an Okanagan foodie gem. We were driving in the industrial north end and saw the coolest place. Kettle River Brewing and Provisions Catering have partnered together to create a local brewing and food experience that is amplified by its great service (thanks Haida and Ben) and amazing decor. Chris and Russ feature local art, and one of the artists is the aforementioned Ben (Ben Arcega). His stylized 3x4 foot portraits are the reason I chose the seat at my table. I wanted to see them more! And Provisions Catering?!? Wow! If anyone knows Bruce Draper (and I do because he is my husband) you know he is a student of food. He is not easily blown away. Jake and Chris' calamari dish left Bruce dazzled. He is still talking about it and we are already home. The burgers were delicious, the home fries and homemade sauce were memorable. Cute microbrewery that sometimes has live music. There's no table service, which is totally fine. You order your food at the counter, pick it up yourself, and grab your own cutlery and water. I'd definitely skip the food, though. The portions were surprisingly small for the price. We ordered chicken wings, which weren't typical wings, a cider, and one entrée, and the total was $75. For the portion sizes and self-service setup, it felt VERY overpriced. There's also no kids' menu. read more

One of many breweries in the brewery district cluster. Not sure what the theme is supposed to be. Vintage surfer/dockside (think Beach Boys) comes to mind. Cute logo too. Parking is available on the side streets, as well as some unpaved spots to the E of the building. The place is basically an old dumpy warehouse, which gives it that vintage feel. There is a nice big N facing patio. Staff are friendly. For some reason, this place doesn't allow for counter orders. Staff bring the beers. The selection is mostly lagers and ales. Some of the beers are water themed, but overall the list is pretty eclectic. The kitchen serves some pub food such as burgers and appies. Not a bad place to check out. read more

Omg! A lovely lady at a local winery recommended this place to us and it did not disappoint. They offer their own microbrews BUT the chefs are next level. I ordered the featured flat iron steak with local fruits- cherries and seared apricots, caramelized onions in a puree, garlic scapes (new to me) and a frisée on a celery root cream with asparagus. Wow! My hubby had the tostada sandwich with ancho pork and their signature home made ketchup chips. All nicely priced. We will be coming back! read more

An amazing little up-and-comer. The brewery has been operating for over a year and there's a lot of buzz in Kelowna about it. We tried the flight of four on tap and the stout was a great surprise. Creamy and cocoa-y without an artificial after-taste. I'm usually not a big fan but this was a 'stand-out stout'. We also bought a bottle of the Loose Canoe IPA and really enjoyed it. They brew in VERY small batches so if you like something, get it while you can. It sounds like they're trying a lot of different and interesting recipes - including a cinnamon bun stout. The tasting room was cool and laid back with a woodsy, fishing lodge kind of feel. The gal pulling the taps was really friendly and knowledgable about their beers and the Kettle River Story. I hope they continue to grow. If you're in Kelowna, this place is not to be missed! read more

These guys make great beer, and have a fantastic spot for sitting down for a pint. They've got their IPA's nailed, and usually have something unique on tap to try. I would add a fifth star if they were able to get a bit more selection at any given time (they usually only have 4-5 beers available at once), and if they had a few regular beers on-tap. Otherwise, I love this place! read more

Amazing amazing beer !!!! The imperial IPA is to die for , it's juicy and hoppy . And of course the staff is so down to earth. How could we not be happy , great beer on a hot 33c day in Kelowna in July . And came home with a great painting from Ben arcega !!!!!!! read more

What a brewery should be! Great ambiance. Tons of fun. Foosball, open mic nights, trivia nights, yoga on sundays and really kick ass tasty brews. picnic tables for seating, so a very social place. also close to vice & virtue which is also amazing, but in a different kind of way. read more

You only hear about wineries when visiting kelowna, so when I stubbled upon this brewery it was nice! Very cute spot with a nice food truck in front and seating area. The beers were pretty good too. I'm not a huge fan of darker beers like IPA, pale ale and they were delicious here... I love the decor of this place and would come back again! read more
