Freddy's Brewpub is connected to the McCurdy Bowling Ally. I came here with B and his brother to bowl. We got a pitcher of beer after the game. It was nothing too special. There are plenty of parking since it is located at a stripmall. It is a regular pub with food that you would expect to see like chicken wings, burgers and etc. read more

Tucked away just off the highway in a large strip mall, this place is definitely worth hitting up in Kelowna. Don't let the plain exterior fool you. Parking is available directly in front of the restaurant. Plenty of spots. The inside is quite classy, and looks great. There is a covered patio as well. Special mention to this area. The food looked pretty decent, though I didn't try. Staff were friendly and attentive. The beer flights (5 in total) here are pretty decent overall. The ones that stuck out for me were the Red Head Lager and the Brownstone Ale. As the name suggests, the beer is made in house. Recommended. read more

Needed a quick place for dinner and found Freddy's on Yelp. Decided to give it a try and ended up going back for brunch the next day. The service was spot on, friendly and efficient. The food was fantastic. Between the 4 of us that visited (over the 2 days) we tried the Drunken Dog, Taco Salad, Quesadilla's, Chicken Cali Wrap, a couple burgers. So good. The beer was AMAZING. I'm no beer expert but this beer was some of the tastiest and smoothest beer I've ever had. We ended up taking 3 growlers of the Red Headed Lager and 2 of the Honey Ridge Ale back to Calgary with us. Not a bad place. 7 or 8 tvs, different sports on. Nice place to go after work have a couple drinks and a snack, or have a bite before or after a movie. The food isn't anything spectacular, but it isn't bad. It's definitely better than what I expected it to be considering its attached to a bowling alley. I started going to this pub a lot, for crowlers (1L cans) of beer, which are now made ready to go. Basically treating it like a liquor store. Great beer. They renovated a bit mid-lockdown, and yes, it's much more clean-looking now, but it has definitely lost a lot of the cozy-factor... I preferred the earlier look. This latest visit after work last week, I walked in briskly towards the bar with a mask on, like I usually do, seeing some new "Please Wait to be Seated" signs on the way, but didn't really take everything in (long day). I ignored them - wasn't planning on sitting. A waiter immediately comes over and sternly redirects me back to the entranceway, forces me to sanitize, and to give my name and number. Contact tracing. This is new (maybe for St. Patrick's day?). Nowhere in the mask mandate (I've read it) does it say this is necessary, so, seems they're trying to go above and beyond. The only things I was going to be touching anyway would be my coat and wallet, but whatever, better safe than sorry! I guess my moment of poor observation (clearly taken as flagrant disobedience) rubbed him the wrong way, and his reaction rubbed me the wrong way. But I dutifully sanitized, and gave my name and number. He looked like he didn't believe that was my real name, and proceeded to say it loudly, with strong emphasis, about 6 or 7 times as he served me. At the end of every sentence. I paid for my beer ($15) with a $20 bill (cash - out of spite), and said he could keep the change. That'll be the last time I go there, but at least they got a 33% tip (for 3 minutes work) out of me. On top of the awkward social experience, it seems my beer got shaken up a bit while I wasn't looking... because that thing went off like no other I've had from there, and I barely cracked it. Spilled everywhere. Thanks! It's a shame, because the beer is great, and I'm sure the brewers are nothing like the servers. I'd love to support them through this lockdown BS. Judging by the fate of some other small bars I loved to visit, they need it. read more

hate to be disappointed when you believe the reviews. Went here for Dinner (early) and had some beer (good), Ribs, and the bacon Cheeseburger. The ribs were oven cooked, and I really like ribs BBQd or smoked, but they were ok. The garlic fries were missing garlic (or anything for the garlic to stick to) and not great. Coleslaw was mostly mayo. The Cheeseburger was really overcooked and the lettuce wilted, Not the best. The side ceasar was pretty good. Great microbrews can be tough to come by in Canada, but Freddy's bucks the trend. Their Brownstone is to die for, rich, tasty, malty and clean. The other beer they serve follows suit, and best of all you can get them in "GROWLERS." A Growler is a 65 oz glass jug that looks like it's straight out of a moonshine distillery, but is reality is just an efficient method for conveying good brew. Cheaper than most beer in Canada, the growler costs $10 (a deposit) for the bottle and $10 to refill. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful, and will go out of their way to fill your growlers as well as your stomach. The patio is great on a hot day, and if you're looking for something to do there is always the bowling alley. If you enjoy good beer, you owe it to yourself and your friends to check this place out. read more

We brought our family of five in for my son's 19th birthday last night and we ALL had excellent meals!!! For a pub, the food is high end! Apparently they have professional chefs working there and its obvious. From the lamb burger to the steak and prawns to the brisket burger and some other kind of burger, all was excellent!!! Probably more of 3 and a half but it wasn't terrible and I'm feeling generous. I'm leaning on the lower side of 4 stars because it wasn't memorable either. Reading my other reviews you guys know by know that I like my food hot! Like "I have to wait for a little bit when it comes out and blow on it" temperature hot which unfortunately none of this was. I mean come on there's no excuse for fries not to be hot! My OH and I shared the pulled pork burger and the Daniel's BBQ sauce Wang Dangs (wings). Pulled pork was moist but definitely missing something, like a sauce. It was just kind of like roasted pulled pork, but super juicy. Not sure whether it was going for an Asian fusion thing with the spring onions on it but it definitely needed something. This came with fries covered in garlic, yum! The wings were good, juicy and crispy and the sauce was nice. They do half price appys after I'll so would definitely go back just for the wings. Their beer menu is on large cans which is kind of cool and we tried and lager, pale ale and IPA. Kind of weird to have a pale ale hoppier than an IPA in my opinion. Beers were meh. Bar is joint onto a bowling alley which looked fun. It was glow in the dark and playing 90's music, a bit more for the adult crowd. Lacking in a bit of atmosphere too. The fries are good! We tried the flight strip and were a bit disappointed in the variety to choose from. The beers are good, I just would have liked to try more than just a few. Food is excellent. I go there once a week as part of the golf club and the food is always amazing. I've had probably half the menu and I have always been very satisfied. Portion size is huge especially if you get fries/salad, you'rep robably not going to finish it, so if I'm taking the girlfriend bowling we'll sometimes just share something. The dinner entrees are perfect though and they're the tastiest. Prices are $8-15 for most things, again sometimes I'll just eat an appy and it's enough for me. They brew their own beer and it's actually quite good. Good variety. My only complaint is that service is sometimes inconsistent. Sometimes it's spot on, quick and all, but other times it's slow - usually when it's busier, and especially if you're bowling you might get only 1 server for the whole alley and there's like 20 lanes going... They have new bowling computers now they should have a button there to 'call server' or order a drink through the menu there. That would be sweet! The food was gross. The garlic fries are frozen fries with a couple piles of raw garlic dropped on top. There were three of us. One had the brisket... which was bun, bun, and a bit of pork. One had the schnitzel and it was dry, overcooked, and the sauce was terrible. I had the ribs that were not bad but the garlic fries and dry 'coleslaw' was the worst. Three Coronas, two piece fish and chips, one piece undercooked, one piece overcooked(mostly batter). Fries were ok. Wife had a Ceasar with a chicken strip. Chicken was not to tasty. Actual salad was ok.The shock was the bill at $52. I felt robbed. Will not go there again. read more
