Food: lots of options for food from bakery and pop up trucks nearby. We had the sausage rolls, smarty cookie, and brownie, all were really good and priced fairly, most things were not over priced. Also can be heated up in oven which is really nice. Love this place. Great to sit in the loft or on their patio. Has a good rotation of food trucks or you can bring your own food. Staff have all been there a long time and are super friendly. Great selection of beer. Only downside is hard to find parking on busy days and parking lot hard to turn around if full. read more

Kelowna brewery scene has really expanded! However, I found their beers really underwhelming. We had the flight of beer and I have to say I wasn't really a big fan of any of their beers to the point I cannot remember any of them and had no desire to fill a growler or bring any home with us! With that said, they did have a huge list of beers and we only tried 4 of them. Seems like a nice location; we sat on the patio. Lots of seating options and a nice building. Tons of parking. Again, the beer is not memorable. read more

This is a great brewery and I love the collaboration they do with the local food trucks!! We dropped by on Saturday so Little Tokyo ramen trailer was visiting the brewery this time. ramen and beer are great combo... and in Barn Owl brewery you can get both awesome beer and awesome ramen! We decided to get a beer flight and shoyu ramen. Both the beers and ramen were delicious... For beer, my favourite was Greatfruit IPA. Usually I avoid any fruity beer as it usually end up being sour, but this one was fruity but no sour :) For shoyu ramen, i love the broth! Very flavourful. It's probably one of the best broth i've ever had. As for the noodle part, i think it will be even better if the noodle was drained more thoroughly but it was still great ramen! If you are looking for a super cute, laid back place to grab some beers, this is it! This place has oodles of character, from the mismatched chandeliers to the armchairs with jean patches. Away from the bustle of downtown, this place has a great upstairs area for groups with larger tables and seating areas, board games, and a working gas fireplace. Downstairs is more cozy. They have a decent selection of beers on tap, plus 2 guest taps, a cider choice, and a couple wines. The flight is good value. I recommend the lager or the raspberry wheat ale. Wasn't a huge fan of the honey lager. Food is snacks like a cheese bus, pretzel, nuts and chips. They also let you bring in your own food which is kinda cool/more economical for some of us! If I could add more than 5 stars I would. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. There were 14 beers on tap. Literally something for everyone. There was a beer I didn't like. The atmosphere is charming. I'm highly impressed with the quality of beer they are delivering for the size and length of time they have been open. I left a bad review a few months ago, so it seems only fair that I call out Barn Owl on what I perceive as turning things around with their beer offerings! My wife and I stopped by recently and shared some tasting flights. We found the beer selection to be quite diverse, and all of the beer that I tried was decent-to-really good. I commented before that their IPAs were lacking, but they now have a decent IPA, and their Pale Ale actually drinks more like an IPA and was really good! The porter, nitro stout, and saison were also some of my favourites. Also worth noting is that we visited during the pandemic, in tourist season, and we thought that Barn Owl did a really great job of keeping tables spread out and taking precautions to keep patrons safe. We love this place! The red barn caught our attention while driving through the roundabout so we had to drop in. The beer selection was varied. We tasted and liked everything from the Saison to the Radler to the Honey Brown. Everyone there was friendly and Brian is our new favorite bartender. We had so much fun the first night, we came back later in the week to enjoy the beautiful and funky loft and a few games of slightly competitive shuffleboard. Gary, you've got a good thing going! This is a really cool brewery in a restored barn that really makes the experience and setting quite unique. The craft beer covers a number of palates, so you are sure to find something that works for you. I ordered a flight of beer and became a fan of their porter stout and lager. I was only in Kelowna for the weekend, but will be back to see what's new. read more
