This place is neither amazing NOR bad. I would say they get 4 stars mainly because of their pricing. I ordered from this place twice and got the 3 rolls for 12$. That's a good deal because its comes with a decent sized miso soup as well. Ordered from this place twice via Grubhub and the first time was a bad experience. The delivery man came and had trouble with the door because he couldn't figure out how to work a doorbell and when he approached me he gave me attitude unnecessarily because he was literally out there for two seconds as I went downstairs to open the door for him as he called me once again because he couldn't figure out how to work a doorbell. I definitely called the restaurant to complain about him and thankfully the second time I ordered a different delivery man came it was much more hospitable and nicer. This review couldn't go written without a review of the first delivery driver he was rude and when I asked him what he said he scared away from me but I had to call the restaurant to complain about his attitude regardless. They have a good deal for lunch where you can get 2 rolls $10 or 3 rolls $14 with soup or salad. I will take that any day and it is a pretty standard lunch deal at sushi spots. Nothing fancy about the decor here but the food was solid and it was at a good price. The shumai dumplings also were solid. The pork gyoza are also a nice addition to the meal. I order from Oishi once a week, whether it's lunch for the office or at home. When I say they are fast, I mean FAST. It's like within minutes they're at your door. The fish is always fresh, I've never had a bad dish from the various sushi and kitchen appetizers and entrees we've gotten. I've only picked up in the restaurant once or twice, but when I did was immediately greeted by a very friendly staff member. It wasn't completely packed inside, but was certainly welcoming and tidy. One time, I ordered some hot and cold items and only received the hot items (assuming they were bagged separately.) I cut my loses and gave up on the rest of the order, only for the friendliest gentleman to come to my door about an hour later with the remainder of my order. That's outstanding! For a fairly new place, this sushi joint is running smoothly. The owner used to own another Japanese place in the Bronx and his experience is definitely shining through. The restaurant is small with 4 four seater tables and one 2 seater table. Also, everyone does the AYCE (best value compared to a la carte) which means long dinners and slow turnovers. This was not a problem on a quiet Monday night but I can see a long wait for a Fri or Sat night. AYCE ($21.99 pp) is based off the a la carte menu and you order with a server who encourages you to order in small batches. Best game plan is to start with a miso and the tuna avocado salad then work through a platter of sashimi and end with a roll or two. For an AYCE, I found the sashimi very fresh minus the octopus which was hard and frozen. The rolls also done right with more fish than rice. No green tea ice cream here tho :( It's BYOB so bring the sake! read more

I've been ordering from them since 2015. Rarely am I disappointed with the quality or delivery. The lady who answers the phone is sooooo sweet. She memorized my order since I always order the same thing. She just asks, "The usual?" She now knows me my voice ! LOL! One time there was an error with my order.. I called to let her know and she offered to correct it,but I declined, so when I ordered next time, she offered to give me an order of edamames on the house. The electricity did go out twice while we were there and they apologized constantly. It didn't really effect us. They gave us a whole plate of watermelon to finish our meal. Ordered from here for the first time and I'm glad I gave it a try. I had some sushi rolls and a fish katsu dinner box. All the ingredients were fresh and the food was delicious. The katsu dinner box has a lot of food in it. I made a change to the type of sushi in the dinner box and was happy to see they followed all my requests that I made while placing the order online without having to call me. I also got tamago, but I've had better and that is one thing from my order that I would not recommend. Delivery was great, but I did order an hour ahead and even though Im only 6 minutes away, it took a full hour for the food to be delivered.
