Obviously, I've been to several dental offices before. This office has modern equipment, is super clean, well managed, and charges are reasonable. More importantly, Dr. Kim is a highly experienced professional. I had one implant 4 years ago and several visits thereafter. This place was highly recommended to me by family and friends. I needed a lower first molar implant and the whole procedure was painless. The best way I can describe how it physically felt is a lot of light poking (like poking yourself with your finger, not sharp). The most uncomfortable part was the impression for the crown. Dental procedure wise, this is as painless as it gets, so for that it deserves 5 stars. Dental implants are usually expensive, but comparing to other places, Ohkim's is quite affordable. Ohkims also do other types of procedures such as root canal, extractions, crowns, and other general dental procedures. They can do same day extraction and dental implant There's a $50 consultation fee, but they will subtract it if you decide to get your procedure done here. -1 star because of language barrier. Staffs are all Korean and only a few can speak fluent/better English who works inside. Communicating with front desk staff can be a bit challenging. Luckily, I was able to communicate in Mandarin. So, Mandarin speakers will likely do fine. After my dental implant, I got my root canal done here as well. It is a place I would come back to, but again communication with the front desk staff can be a concern. This place is very clean and equipment looks up to date. read more

I never like writing reviews, but this was a very painful dental experience.  I would like to remind everyone to choose a reliable dentist before treatment.  The doctor-patient relationship that has lasted for ten years began with a heartwarming advertisement from OHKIM'S.  Since my first dental visit in 2013, I have completely adopted Dr. Hyoungwook Kim's advice out of trust and had nearly 10 teeth extracted in two dental visit and all new dental implants.   I was 44 years old at the time. Although I had concerns, I still followed the doctor's advice out of trust. The pain during the operation was unbearable.  The doctor kept giving me anesthesia during the whole process. So far, I have experienced crown fractures, crown fall-off, exposed metal, and loose bolts. The remedial treatment every time a problem occurs is a painful ordeal.   Until this time the crown became loose again, and the doctor said that the metal of my dental implant was broken and I needed to re-implant it. Thinking about previous painful experiences makes me very anxious.  This time I did not blindly believe Dr.Hyoungwook Kim, but consulted a dentist elsewhere to see if there were any different treatment methods. Sure enough, so many years of doubts have been answered.  The doctor gave me a convincing explanation. Because on my X-ray, I can see that at the corresponding positions of the upper and lower teeth, there are three dental implants below and four dental implants above.  Since both the upper and lower crowns were bridged, the implant fractured this time due to uneven occlusal stress. This makes me wonder if the doctor implanted one extra tooth just to make more money?   I would also like to mention that one of their front desk staff can provide reception in both Chinese and English. This time I know that I have decided not to continue treatment here, attitudes became very bad  When I asked for a copy of my treatment history, she asked for Dr. Hyoungwook Kim's opinion and actually charged me 25 dollars for each piece of paper. read more

I'm really indecisive about what to think of this place. My mom comes here because they are very good at speaking Korean, English, AND Mandarin chinese. I usually come here for cleanings, because they're cheaper than most and cleaner than most. However, it does hurt a ton compared to other places, but I'm not too knowledgeable about procedures, so I suppose it has to hurt more to be cleaner. I did have a problem with one incident from 2017. I came here to fill in some cavities, which I have a ton of due to acid reflux. When I came in, one of the people told me I needed a root canal and a crown. They mentioned it was necessary for the back tooth because it was showing signs of decay. Since I didn't have time to get it done over the course of a month because I needed to go back to university on the east coast, I decided to hold off on the operation. At university, the root canal option was a lot cheaper because of my student insurance so I went for a consultation. The dentists there said I didn't need a canal at all and there is no chance of it decaying as long as I continue to do what I do regularly. I don't know who's right in this situation, but I'm glad I got out of a procedure that I didn't need. That said, I'll still be coming to Oh Kim's for regular cleanings. read more

Had to cancel my appointment because the receptionist was horrible. She seemed to have a bad day as she had an attitude issue and did not feel welcome at all. Did not get to see the new facility or the doctor but I wont be coming back. The receptionist definitely needs to learn how to deal with the patients even if she is having a bad day. I would rate one star if I had a choice. I do not recommend this place... read more

I do not recommend this place to do anything. They make up lies saying that it's always the patient's fault that they feel pain. Got a root canal done here and I'm still in pain but they say nothing is wrong. Also they say they can take out wisdom teeth but it takes over 90 min for 2 teeth and they charge more than an oral surgeon $600 for each teeth with insurance. Cleaning is cheap $35 but they don't clean as well more like just brush your teeth and use Listerine. Furthermore even though the dentist speaks English you will be talking to a girl assistant since they speak Korean to each other. Not only that they told me I have 2 cavities that needed to be filled. I went to another dental office and they let me know that they were small cavities and could still be reversed though extra brushing and cleaning. 6 months later I have no cavities! read more

First of all, I hate going to dentist (second thoughts they probably hate me too). Long story short, I needed some work done badly. My coworker recommended this office to me so I went on her word. This is the best dentist I've ever been to. The receptionists are super welcoming and nice. I was called in by Dr Kim who sat with me and went over my concerns. He took the time to understand everything and made me feel comfortable. I took X-Rays with the most personable person. Made me laugh. I was at the office for a total of 1.5 hours. Seems a long time but I told them I was going to be very busy in the next week so they got as much as they could in one sitting. Which I appreciate. The worker I mentioned above came in and asked me if I wanted something to eat or a smoothie (I have to wait to get some work done). I hadn't eaten so I was like, grab me something (but healthy). I reached into my wallet to hand him my debit card and he's like "No, don't worry. This is how things work around here". I was honestly shocked. He came back 10 mins later with a berry smoothie. That's beyond what I would ever expect. So there it is, a root canal, fillings and cavities all done in about 90 mins, and I left with big smile and a free smoothie. I highly recommend. read more

Facility is very clean, staff is friendly, and they are taking really good measures to minimize patients coming in at the same time. They also wipe everything pretty thoroughly in between patients. So far the best medical office I've seen during covid . The cost for services are also pretty reasonable. read more

I've been going to Ohkims for over two years now and i gotta admit that they are very honest and extremely friendly! I didn't have any major problems with my teeth but was looking for a general dentist for my routine cleaning and check up. I actually had an old composite that came out and bothered me for several weeks. I knew it needed to be treated asap since the area was pretty big and started to feel sensitivity along with pain.i was little nervous that i might need root canal treatment but thanks to doctor who treated me with another filling and till now i have no problem with the tooth! The doctor was very professional and honest. I visited Oh kims not too long ago to get my routine cleaning and not surprise that the staffs are still really friendly! Thanks Ohkims! read more

I was very traumatized by bad services and overcharges from other dentists I've visited to. I was referred by my friend and decided to give it a try at Oh Kim's dentistry. I needed to get cleaning done very badly since other places had done TERRIBLE jobs while charging three times what Oh Kim's charged. They were able to accomodate me the same day I called and charged exactly what they quoted over the phone. Usually dentists would try to charge extra fee for no reason, but they were very honest and trustworthy. In terms of cleaning, the dental hygenist was very thorough and I didnt feel pain at any point. Their customer service was great! and I am soo happy to find a dentist to visit for cleaning for life!! This place is probably the BEST dental office i have been to. The service here was excellent along with the most up-to-date equipments. My friend referred me to this place for whitenening and trimming services. In awareness that teeth are relatively white, i didnt expect so much out of it....but it still came out CLEAN and NEAT! Jeny is a really cute and sweet staff. She offered me to give me another whitening service for after three weeks but unfortunately, i have failed to show up. There are a lot of people so showing up according to your appointment time is mandatory. In fact, this dentist is open until late afternoon on Saturdays!!!! There are Chinese and Korean speaking receptionists as well, which makes it quite convenient. Overall, i must say my impression at this place was awesome! ;) read more

My brother got his crown done in 2014. His crown came off yesterday and I call them today. They told me that a crown costing $600 can only last for one year. And do I want to still schedule an appointment with them. What are they on? $600for one year? I'm reporting this to the better business bureau. read more

My mother had an appointment at OhKim's Dental Office to treat her upper left quadrant (teeth#13-15). Instead of extracting her upper left teeth, the dentist (Dr. Kim) extracted teeth from her left lower quadrant (teeth#17-20) instead. A total of four teeth were wrongfully extracted as a result. My mother not only has suffered tremendously from emotional pain but physical pain as well. She no longer has teeth on the whole lower left side of her mouth. The dentist had initially agreed to fix the mistake and treat her lower left quadrant as well as her upper left quadrant at no charge. Since then, my mother has attempted to schedule an appointment to get her teeth fixed but was told by management (Grace) and the owner (Dr. Kim) that they no longer want to honor the agreement. Instead they just offered a discount. I have also attempted to contact them by phone but no phone calls were ever returned. read more
