Charge a lot, and never tell you how much before you enter. Ask $9800 for two teeth and if you don't want do, charge you $150 for consultant for just few minutes

This lady did not pay for consultation fee and left. We have reported to police. It is fraudulent behavior.

Poor customer service, the front desk had a nasty attitude. The receptionist does not know how to do her job.

Dr. Howard Yeh told me to come in 6/16 to determine whether I would need additional chemotherapy. When I arrived for the appointment, he asked me for my PET scan results BUT I had no PET scan results because he FORGOT to authorize a PET scan for me. So I asked him if he could at least tell me the results of the two blood tests he had me take prior to my appointment. But when he looked at the tests, he realized he FORGOT to order cancer markers as part of the blood tests, and instead was only checking white blood cell count. He tried to blame it all on the office instead of taking accountability. I booked a blood test for the next day, but because of Yeh's malpractice, the soonest PET scan appointment I could get was a MONTH later. TOI couldn't do anything to help me so I had to call other places myself looking for a sooner appointment but I would first need to find an appointment, get a new authorization for the new facility, cancel the old authorization, call back the new facility and hope that the appointment didn't get booked in the meantime. The Oncology Institute manager Ana Barrilas said she would everything she could to help me ONLY AFTER I mentioned that taking legal action against Yeh may be necessary. She promised to call me back and told me that I could text her anytime and she would get back to me or have someone at the office get back to me. HOWEVER, most of it was lip service. She wasn't able to get me a sooner PET scan even though this was a result or Dr. Yeh's incompetence. FURTHER, I was the one who had to call her back anytime I wanted an update on anything. She would promise to call me and then leave me hanging for days. Luckily I was able to get a PET scan because another patient cancelled, NOT because Ana did anything to help. Then when I FINALLY got a PET scan, Yeh went on vacation BEFORE looking at the results!!! If you value your physical and mental health, go elsewhere for treatment. Dr. Howard Yeh is incompetent and negligent. Ana Barillas lies and pays lip service in order to try to placate you so that you don't rightfully sue the hell out of their doctors for malpractice and negligence. She does her best to deceive you and appear sincere, but she consistently breaks her word. She doesn't care about you.

Their malpractice and negligence had delayed my cancer treatment by more than a month. Their Mission is completely BS, the doctors/staffs lacks compassion, and the clinic DOES NOT have state of the art medical care. My Oncologist is the worse in every way, I could never reach this guy after hours and weekends because he is not even on the after hours system. Hence, I had to go ER multiple times due to severe pain. Please avoid this place at all cost. Lastly, my recommendation to the upper management is that this doctor along with the rude staffs should all be replaced with people that have compassionate, empathy, kindness and understanding.

I have tried changing the day and time of my appointments, but I always seem to have to wait for extended periods of time. Then I am seen by the doctor for about 5 minutes and he never seems to remember me as his patient. He also googles the answer to my questions. It's frustrating to know that I have to spend all day waiting in the crowded waiting area just so the doctor can get paid (He has literally stated that I have to make these appointments so he can get paid even though we are just monitoring the effects of a medication through blood work). I know I have a pretty rare blood disorder, but I wish I could just monitor my status through lab results, skip the visit and just send them a check in the mail. Though the staff is nice, it is not enough to compensate for the horrendous wait time and insignificant encounter with Dr. Steven Wong.

I went from doctor to doctor and and never got answers, most of the time they told me I was 'imagining' things or just 'depressed' and brushed me off because 'I was too young to be having these problems.' I was finally lead to Dr. Shirazi and flew to California to meet with her. Dr. Shirazi listened to my concerns, she ran tests and researched my complaints and got back to me with a clear diagnosis. I ended up needing surgery and of course I choose Dr. Shirazi to do the procedure. The surgery was a success! : ) Dr. Shirazi eased my concerns by answering all of my questions prior to surgery. She demonstrated excellent bedside manner and regularly checked on me after the surgery. Dr. Shirazi is extremely intelligent and has excellent credentials, but what really sets her apart from other doctors is her kind heart. She is both beautiful inside and out, she actively listens, is empathetic, and is easy to talk to. Dr, Shirazi exceeded my expectations. I am so grateful I found Dr. Shirazi. My only regret is not finding her sooner. She changed my life for the better! THANK YOU DR. SHIRAZI FOR HELPING ME REGAIN MY LIFE AND HEALTH BACK!

I've never been to a chemo facility before. You expect something sterile or clinical, but City of Hope South Pasadena is different. It's human. It's kind. The people here don't just clock in -- they show up. From the front desk to the nurses to the volunteers offering water and candy, everyone treated my friend with dignity and genuine care. We were there about four hours, and in that time, I saw more quiet heroism than most people see in a lifetime. Nurses moving with precision and grace, comforting patients like family. No chaos, no coldness -- just empathy and skill in perfect balance. They even offered me water and candy while I waited -- a small gesture, but it meant the world. It reminded me that while medicine keeps people alive, kindness makes it bearable. Life is short. Sitting here makes you realize how fragile it all is -- and how strong people can be in the face of something so heavy. To the staff here: you are heroes. To anyone reading this -- hug your loved ones, laugh more, and don't take a single day for granted. I also thought it would be good to have an "in" just in case. Unfortunately, my experience didn't go well. To be honest, I have a fear of going to doctors and avoid it as much as possible. I arrived early for my appointment as instructed. The staff at the front desk were courteous and professional. About 10 minutes before my scheduled time a nurse escorted me to the room and took my vitals. When she was done, she said the doctor would be in shortly. 35 minutes later - no doctor. The room was cold, my fingers were numb, and I had to get back to work so I walked over to the front desk and told them I was leaving. The next day I received a call asking me if I wanted to reschedule. I said no because I was afraid the doctor would be a no show again and I would find another doctor. Later that day I received another call asking me the same thing, and I gave the same answer. This time the scheduler told me there were two other doctors in the network at the same location and she could book me an appointment with one of them. Unfortunately, the soonest appointment isn't until the end of July but she said she would also put me on the wait list. I appreciate that she went the extra mile to help me. Hopefully, I'll have better luck on my next visit. *Private parking lot.

I've since been informed how dangerous Yervoy can be. Another highly respected oncologist told us it is known a patient killer. My oncologist Dr. Xing was unavailable the entire time I was admitted due to the holidays, even though initially my wife and I were told she would always be available. Her nurse Deanna was rude and dismissive throughout my time there. Dr Xing never made an appearance, or made any attempt to contact us during my hospitalization. The attending doctors were treating my reaction to imunotherapy drugs with pain medication that sent me to the edge of liver failure. A simple google search of the side effects of these pain meds revealed that they were all toxic to the liver which was where the melanoma was. We had to demand they stop all the pain medication they were administering, against their advice of course. Once we made that decision I began a recovery over a few days & my liver enzyme numbers came back to a more normal level. At that point we decided to go to another institution because Dr Xing was going to start me again on the same protocol that almost killed me. A year later I'm doing much better, thanks to the care at UCLA. The tumor is shrinking under a different protocol. Please think twice before you choose Dr. Xing at city of Hope. I would not have survived had I stayed as a patient of hers & would have been just another statistic. I'm sure the "official" cause of death would have been the cancer, (which is now much better) and not the mismanagement of my symptoms of the imunotherapy treatment. If I could give a ZERO rating I would.
