REALLY GLAD I FOUND THIS OFFICE! I havent been to the dentist since I came here from Russia 2 1/2 years ago and havent really been able to see a dentist regularly and i have alot of holes in my teeth. One day a few of those holes started hurting really badly! After many nights without sleep i was glad to have found Dr. Lu and his great assistants. They made a step by step to take xare of my teeth. Helen the hygienist gave me one of the best cleanings Ive ever had and the holes that they could put fillings in they used white fillings. I can only tell they worked on it because i was there! They were so natural that no one else knew i had these fillings. I recently got a couple root canals done at another office in Montebello and awaiting to get my crowns here. They fully remodeled a few years back and the office is really clean with new/upgraded equipment and expanded with more stations (i.e., don't judge the book by the outside of the building). Appointments are easy to make with the super friendly staff and this isn't one of those places where you always have to wait long beyond your appointment time. Most importantly, Ben is an honest and caring dentist who genuinely want to do what's in the best interest of the patient's dental health. I can not recommend this dentist anymore. He drilled my good teeth and left me waiting halfway for a good 25 minutes while he attended to another patient. I felt the big cavity with my tongue while waiting. I told his staff/brother that I did not understand why Dr. Lu drilled my good teeth with a big hole when there was nothing wrong with it. He told me he would only shave it a little for easily flossing, which I expressed my concern about ruining my teeth with sensitivity. He said it would only be a little shaving. Afterward, I spoke to his brother, expressing my unhappiness and dissatisfaction with the teeth drilling, but the brother told me to speak to the dentist. When I met Dr. Benjamin Lu, he did not admit the error and said something about my teeth needed work. I was asked to write a positive review in order to get $10 gift card. Sorry, I have no interest in a $10 gift card when you destroyed my teeth. I know we all want to make money, but what happened is unethical and wrong. The error is irreversible just because he wanted to make extra money. I thought that I had found a trustworthy doctor, but I was wrong. I can't see myself going back after what happened. You lost a loyal customer who recommended other patients to you. read more

I visited Dr Lu's office today and overall, it was a very pleasant experience. First off, as a fellow healthcare provider, I really appreciated that the office was clean. It's modern and updated. The front office staff who greeted me upon entering the waiting area was receptive, helpful and friendly. Dr Lu himself was also very kind and knowledgeable. He came over while the associate doctor was treating me, just to check in on me. I've read through some of the reviews from other patients and I didn't feel like either of the doctors pressured me into doing anything unnecessary. The associate doctor was also very good. One of the things I appreciate is how every individual working here is extremely kind. I initially felt a bit daunted going in, but the staff and everyone were able to relieve the uncomfortableness fairly easy. I recently had fillings for four cavities, and one cavity was particularly deep so it needed to be numbed; needless to say I was scared pantless because the idea of numbing has always made my stomach seize. However, the staff working here completely understood my initial fear and were so adept at distracting and focusing all of their attention in making sure that I felt 100% relaxed which ultimately MADE the experience. I wish I could say more about Benjamin Lu, DDS but I would encourage those who are looking for a new general dentist to visit here, I have never experienced a more compassionate and kind staff like this place before. Although the place is a bit small, they make sure that everyone who is here has a seat of their own and feels comfortable. I also have to note that they are VERY equipped in making sure that those who are coming for their appointment are temperature checked as to ensure the safety of the staff as well as the fellow patients. During this covid-9 situation, I got an emergency and my tooth cracked and I needed urgent help. Dr.Benjamin Lu assisted me greatly. I was in so much pain and I was very anxious like I always am visiting any specialist. He was very calm and helped me fix the tooth and I was completely comfortable. Not only were they very professional but they were also fully covered and changing gloves multiple times to ensure I felt safe and they were too. I came here with pretty severe pain. It ended up being a root canal. This office referred me to an affordable (relative term) office to do the procedure. Then, I came back to get my crown done. Dr Lu was fine but Dr Cao (forgive me if spelling is wrong) was amazing! He was kind and patient and explained every step of the procedure as he went along. His receptionist asked me to his pffice for X-Ray .Benjamin LU did not explain the details of why he charge such a high price, His character is he does not speak openly to his patients. Benjumin Lu is not honest, cunning, very tricky, he asks for 650 for each teeth for Porcelain Ceramic crown. I talked to other dentist who charge $375 . Worse situation scheduling with them ever. EDIT: I would call for an appointment, and one person would schedule me in the morning. If I call again, a different person tells me that it's in the afternoon. It got me so confused! I was triggered to write this review is for that main reason. Many times I arrived to the appointment, and by saying appointment for me is in fact being told to take a walk and they'll call when they can service which is almost a hour. Got there around 5p, but got out at 8p. Also some of their assistant have main issues when they accidentally make tools fall on patients face, im not even kidding. Its the sharp tools too, and I bled. She said sorry, without really seeming sorry. But imagine it pokes my eye or something. Yeah, thats what I mean. They would put those saliva sucking thing in your mouth like not really caring about their job, just not actually helping with sucking the saliva but poke it in your throat and tongue. They do this every time, no joke that it gets on your nerve like they got something personal. I chose them because they accept Medi-cal and was too quick to choose a provider. Sorry for the essay but this guy basically ruined my life. Guy fucked up my tooth and my bite cause he misheard me about which molar had a problem. I specifically said second from the last in the back, and he did the last one instead, causing me pain for about over two weeks. Went back, told them what happen, and the guy without asking once again shaved off more on that healthy tooth for absolutely no reason even after I specially mention that wasn't the issue to multiple staff members. Now my bite is putting more pressure on that side cause he ended up lowering it by shaving off the enamel on that back molar. Also along with that tooth having extreme sensitivity due to the loss of enamel and the exposed dentin, Dude charge $400 plus to my insurance listing it as some comprehensive exam? Worse off he took X-rays too beforehand and I even pointed out which tooth was the issue, and he still messed up and ends up trying to say I was the reason he got the wrong tooth. And proceeds to blame my Wisdom tooth next to it being the source of the nerve pain, when I had no pain whatsoever before going to this guy. Went to another doc, who proceeds to do another check up, and guess what? It's not my Wisdom tooth causing me pain and sensitivity, it's due to the bad bite, from the tooth adjustments. He shaved off that tooth knowing it was pure enamel with no filling on the cusp yet he still did it. The other doc I went to after him specifically mention how the shaved off area had no fillings so they were confused why this doc thought that area had a filling, yet somehow the mistake still happened. Now every single day, it's pain in both the tooth and the bite, and that tooth being extremely sensitive to hot and cold due to the mistake. Additionally my overall bite is lowered, destroying how my original bite was, causing me malocclusion, which in turn has introduced other symptoms from constantly biting my inside cheeks to hyper salivation which apparently is due to my bite being fucked. But the worse off is the sensitivity and pain in the tooth he fucked, it's been a nightmare. Can't even eat veggies without the pressure bringing pain. The man literally had X-rays done, along with me pointing out the tooth to multiple staff members yet this still happened. The doc here may seem decent, but the moment u have issues, it's a 360 face change. This guy completely ruined my bite and overall oral health, just because of that one mistake, and charged $400 for it. I regret calling this place everyday. Should've left when I found out they charge $100 for copies of ur own xrays even after ur insurance already paid for them...I read the reviews yet I was stupid enough to stay. Learn from my mistake. U do not want this pain I'm feeling every day since. Now apparently I'm looking at a crown, or braces to fix this issue both of which I can't afford at the moment, so I'm stuck with this pain, my life has completely changed because of this mistake. Dr. Lu is extremely gentle while performing procedures (which is very hard to come by), he explains everything and answers all your questions prior to beginning your treatment, and he makes you feel comfortable. The office staff is great. They are very pleasant, knowledgeable, and are always happy to answer any questions you have. Scheduling an appointment with them is a breeze and they don't make you wait for months to see the Dr. I have only been to the Alhambra office and every time I have gone there has been little to no wait time. I've been going to Dr. Lu's dental office for the past year. We've gone thru deep cleaning, multiple cavity fillings (yup, I haven't been to the dentist in years), wisdom tooth pull, tooth caps, and now teeth whitening- basically the entire spectrum of dental works. So this review isn't light in terms of experiences. Dr. Lu and Dr. Su have been great. They're very professional and understanding. I'm not comfortable with the idea of having someone doing work inside my mouth but if I've got to choose these people are my go to guys. I've never had to wait an extraordinary length of time and I'm always kept abreast of any delays. When I had my wisdom tooth removed I had cracked it that very day and called in. I was very lucky as they were able to accommodate me and took care of that issue. Not all offices are 100% perfect in every aspect but these guys come pretty darn close. read more

Ben gave me my smile back and I'm forever grateful. About a year and a half ago I started having seizures which have damaged my teeth. This past seizure I woke up and saw I chipped 3 of my teeth in the front. Super embarrassing and reminded me of the incident every time I saw them.
