I recently had deep cleaning procedures completed at this location. They book appointments up until 30 minutes before closing, so the dentist was in a rush to complete the procedures. On average, the process took less than 30 minutes for both occasions which might not leave time for a thorough cleaning. For example, on my first appointment (there were a total of two deep cleaning appointments and one touch up appointment) there were still some excavated tartar fragments left in my mouth after the dentist was done. I only felt the pieces once the injectable anesthetic wore off while at home. Water is used during the drilling process and during both appointments it was never controlled. An assistant was there to suction the remnants and the water. But, because the dentist is in a rush and the water pressure was never controlled correctly, water kept leaking out of my mouth and onto my neck and hair which made for an uncomfortable experience.
Care should be taken when reviewing what is written on your care plan, the total amount being charged noted on this plan and the amount you are charged upon completion of each visit. I found a few discrepancies from what I was quoted as my total cost versus what I was ultimately charged. When brought to the attention of the front desk and the dentist I was told that the procedure was always scheduled that way and that the error was in printing. I find this explanation questionable as not only did they forget to add a "necessary" & "pre-planned" procedure on the plan, they also tried to add something else to the overall cost as well. On my second visit they tried to charge me for the application of a gel that was: 1) never noted on my care plan and 2) was never discussed with me before or after my treatment began and therefore applied without my consent or knowledge. When I saw the charge for that, I immediately brought it to the front desk's attention and argued for the charge to be removed and was told that they'll "do me a favor" by doing so.
The printed care plan is the only paper you get as a patient that dictates what was discussed, at how much, and what is the plan for each appointment. They make you sign the care plan to note that all procedures noted on the plan have been discussed with you. However, on their end they choose to subjectively view the plan as they please as they have a list (that you do not get to see) of what procedures are needed to be completed. Shouldn't the care plan also mirror their written plan so that patients know what is going to occur and at how much? Not according to them as they do not view the care plan printed and signed by you as being a credible form of documentation for discussion when a discrepancy is noted.
After this incident, I will not be going back to this office to have any other procedures completed. I would heed others to reconsider or at least to look around to compare prices and the quality of the work. read more
