Because I grind my teeth, my natural teeth are a bit on the smaller side, which meant it took some extra time and meticulous effort to resize and reshape the new crown to align perfectly with my jaw. I tend to avoid confrontation, and I think Dr. Patrick picked up on that. He looked me straight in the eye and encouraged me to speak up if anything felt even a tiny bit off, insisting that it had to be absolutely perfect to protect my bite and jaw alignment long-term. I really appreciated that extra push. Truthfully, I might have held my tongue and settled for "good enough" otherwise. (In hindsight, that's probably what happened with my former dentist in Irvine who did my original crown.) The difference in quality between this crown and my first one is night and day. I found out later that my old crown was actually too big, causing an asymmetrical bite. This time, I have absolute confidence that Dr. Patrick got it perfect right from the start. As a recent casualty of the tech layoffs in LA, I am currently navigating life without dental insurance. Crowns are notoriously expensive. When I discovered that my previous insured dentist was now wildly outside my price range, I started shopping around the LA area for a quality, affordable alternative. The more offices I called, the more a quick trip across the border to Tijuana for cheap dental work--as a friend suggested--started looking like a sane, viable option. From the start, booking was a breeze; the receptionist was kind, knowledgeable, and highly accommodating. The actual visit went just as smoothly, despite the fact that I arrived as a bumbling bundle of nerves. In fact, I was so anxious that I accidentally bit my poor dental hygienist's finger during the initial exam. I was mortified, but she was an absolute sweetheart about it, calmly explaining every step of the process and even reassuring me that the X-rays exposed me to no more radiation than stepping out into the sun. When it was time for the procedure, Dr. Erica injected the numbing agent and gently removed the remaining pieces of my cracked crown. She took a mold for the lab, and then crafted a temporary resin crown to protect the tooth in the meantime. Throughout the entire process, she was calm, patient, and thoroughly professional, constantly checking in to ensure I wasn't in any pain. She was incredibly meticulous about aligning the height of the temporary crown perfectly with my bite. You can tell she is a woman of precision who takes immense pride in her craft and her patients' comfort. Absolutely INCREDIBLE dentists. I have had 4 different dentists in the 4 years I've been in LA and they all were terrible and/or had hidden fees and charged outrageous amounts even with insurance, none of which they communicate beforehand. Every time I visited, I felt compelled to leave a great review (finally doing now) because the dentists at Bello Dental have been nothing short of amazing. Everyone there is super friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they actually care about their patients. They take their time with you and never make you feel rushed. The prices are also far more reasonable than every other dentist I've been to. Dr. Vu's work is honestly amazing, especially on front tooth fillings. The level of detail and care he puts into his work is unreal. He really takes his time to make everything look natural and perfect. I chose this office for dental care due to its 4.9 star rating and location. I've been a patient for a year now. My dentist providers don't really evaluate me or ask about my dental concerns. They just clean my teeth. I asked about my dental concern or it doesn't get addressed. I was getting my dental cleaning and examination every 3-4 months per year at my previous dentist, had mentioned this from the beginning. I was told it was not a problem. The receptionist was suppose to address it with my insurance, my guess is she never did. Now they want me to pay out of pocket if I'm asking for my final routine cleaning for the year. The receptionist today didn't try to address my concern, just said I needed to pay out of pocket. She didn't care if I canceled my appointment or just didn't return anymore. I asked to speak to the office manager, I was told they were not there and neither were the dentist. I'm no longer interested in continuing care with this establishment. My insurance provider was switched when I retired, leaving me with no choice, but to find a new dentist. I couldn't be happier with everything about this place. I was looking for a new dentist and came across all of the positive reviews for Bello Dental. I'm so glad I proceeded with scheduling an exam because I immediately felt at ease. I ended up scheduling my wisdom teeth removal because of how comfortable and confident I felt with the doctor. I just had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday and it wasn't as horrible as I feared it would be. The doctor is incredibly kind and patient. He put me at ease, made sure I understood the healing process, instructions, and the medication I would be prescribed. Let me just say, I'm super picky about dentists because I hate going to see the dentist and it's just a horrible experience, until I found Bello Dental! They are AMAZING AND SUPER ATTENTION TO DETAIL, and they really do listen to you. All the staff are very professional, respectful, caring and surprisingly all very young and easy to talk to. The environment is slightly small, but it's super CLEAN and modern interior. The outside looks like a typical dentist office, but as soon as you walk in, looks more like an upscale spa. I recently took my husband to Bello Dental because he was in a lot of pain from a chipped tooth. Our regular dental office doesn't open on Sundays, so I looked for dental offices in my area that were open and came across Bello Dental. The office is clean, the design and layout of the patient rooms is very modern, they have high tech equipment. Most importantly there is a very welcoming feeling. The front office staff was helpful and friendly. My husband was able to get treatment for his chipped tooth and we received detailed after visit instructions. My hubby is now feeling better, I have scheduled appointments for my entire family, and will now be regular patients here. Like most people, I typically avoid seeing the dentist because I find the whole experience uncomfortable especially if you're a new patient. So when I decided to support this new practice, I was totally amazed by the exceptional care and service I receives: cleaning, filling, and whitening. If you're looking for a new dentist, I 100% recommend Dr. Kang and here are a few reasons why... NEW CLINIC The practice is new and thus everything inside is clean, up to date, and fresh! They have a TV in every room so you can watch your favorite shows while getting your teeth clean. If you're a parent waiting for your child, they also have small waiting area with a TV, wifi, and complementary coffee. LATEST EQUIPMENT As a new patient, you need to get updated x-rays which is something I always hated because of the lead apron and uncomfortable "bitewings" that cut into your gums. This clinic has eliminated the lead apron and they're able to get x-rays while you sit in the dentist chair. Best part, they project the x-ray on the TV so you can see it too. SERVICE Dr. Kang is residency trained and it shows! His bedside manner is impeccable and he's always mindful of your wellbeing. He will periodically ask how you are doing and make adjustments during the procedure until you're comfortable. He did a great job numbing my gums, I barely felt a thing! As someone who struggles with daily flossing (out of laziness), I feel insecure when a dentist examines my teeth but not once did anyone in the office make me feel embarrassed or ashamed for my less than stellar flossing. TIP It's always a good idea to call the office and ask what insurance they accept. I have Anthem and they accepted my insurance without any issues. The parking lot is rather small but there's plenty of street parking in the adjacent neighborhood. Staff is bilingual (Spanish/Korean/Mandarin) so don't let that be a barrier. If you're going in for teeth whitened, definitely give yourself an extra 45-60 mins. I did three 15 minute sessions (45 minutes total) and they came out noticeably whiter. Easy set up consult and did routine cleaning on the spot. Open all weekends very accessible to people who work during the week. X-rays were performed with ease with the panorama digital scan. I can tell soon as I walked in that the office was ran very well. The staff up front was very friendly and professional and I didn't have to wait too long (another good sign.) I was seen by Dr. Chaen, not too long after that and she explained every step of the process of work that needed to be done. Where to begin with my overall experience? Super clean facility right off the front door. Front desk greeted me immediately and got me started on paper work for my visit. After a short wait I was brought in for numerous X-Rays to determine the cause of the pain for my visit. I had not been to a dentist for about 17 years because I feared the dentist as a kid. Dr. Kang reviewed my X-Rays and explained a few procedures that needed to be done on my teeth with the major one being a root canal. I initially chose minor fillings to ease myself back into getting over my fear of the dentist then changed my mind and decided to go with the root canal in hopes to get rid of the pain ASAP. DR. Chean worked on my root canal from start to finish including the anesthesia with no pain whatsoever! I was prescribed an anti-biotic, steroids and pain meds which I haven't the need to use because my pain this morning is at a 0-1 out of 10. I'm very excited to make this a routine and staying on top of my teeth with the help of Dr. Kang and Dr. Chean by my side along with the supporting cast at this great establishment!!! read more
